RAND PAUL: DEEP STATE DEFIED TRUMP’S ORDER TO REVOKE BRENNAN SECURITY CLEARANCE

Rand Paul: Deep State Defied Trump's Order To Revoke Brennan Security Clearance

“Protecting their own”.

Senator Rand Paul warned Wednesday that recent reports indicate that deep state is ignoring direct orders from President Trump, and is acting to ‘protect its own’.

Paul made the comments in a CNN interview, noting that former CIA Director John Brennan has managed to keep his security clearance despite orders from the President to have it revoked.

“This was such a big, I guess, promise of the president’s, demand of the president. He said he was going to pull it, and he still has it.” host Brianna Keilar said.

“Well, this is what worries me. People talk about the Deep State. Now the Deep State is actually protecting their own and not listening to the president’s orders.” Paul responded.

“I was sitting in the White House when President Trump said, ‘I want his security clearance taken,’ and I saw the order given. I saw the chief of staff was there, not the current chief of staff, the previous chief of staff.” The Senator continued, referring to former White House chief of staff John Kelly.

“And if they’re working against the odds of the president, that really does disrupt our country, does disrupt a representative democracy where the president makes a decision, and if someone is countermanding that, I think we need to get to the bottom of that.” Paul added.

“I hope President Trump will say, ‘who is countermanding my orders? I said get rid of his clearance.’ Paul urged.

“And I do think Brennan has been a partisan. And I think Brennan also abused his office in developing the Trump investigation. I think it was done under false pretenses and done for political reasons.” Paul proclaimed.

President Trump had announced all the way back in August 2018 that Brennan’s security clearance was being revoked due to “erratic behavior” disqualifying the former Obama administration CIA head from having access to classified information.

However, the bureaucratic process of revocation was not completed, according to a White House source speaking with the New York Times.

Brennan has routinely slammed Trump’s presidency, and more recently said he hopes Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and CIA Director Gina Haspel will “stand up” to Trump’s “unprecedented act” of granting Attorney General William Barr “full and complete authority to declassify information” related to the Russia investigation.

DESPERATION: Congressional Dems Will Hold AG Barr in Contempt as He Investigates the Investigators

The Democrats will hold Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt for refusing to break federal laws.

As Attorney General Bill Barr investigates the investigators behind the Mueller probe that yielded no evidence proving President Trump colluded with Russia, Congressional Democrats are growing unhinged at the possibility that their party officials could be implicated.

They are resorting to holding Barr in contempt for not releasing unredacted portions of the Mueller report, in an attempt to ruin his reputation for the purposes of undermining the ongoing investigation:

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) claims that “systematic refusal to provide Congress with answers and cooperate with Congressional subpoenas is the biggest cover-up in American history, and Congress has a responsibility to provide oversight on behalf of the American people.”

“I spent six years with the Justice Department and I venerate the department, to think that it is being led by someone this way breaks my heart for the department but is profoundly concerning for the country,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said of Barr’s supposedly unethical behavior.

But Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) notes that Barr would be risking a violation of federal law if the complied with the requests of Congress.

“We’re really doing this?” Crenshaw wrote in a tweet. “We’re all supposed to just ignore the fact that Barr is bound by federal law to protect grand jury information? Are we pretending there might be some bombshell hidden in there? This is dishonest politics meant to discredit Barr.”

25 Progressive Orgs Petition Nancy Pelosi to Begin Impeachment

Over 25 progressive groups have signed a letter once again demanding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) begin impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

“As Speaker of the House, you have the power to ensure Congress exercises its constitutional obligation to hold this president accountable, but instead of using your power, you are giving us political excuses for why you shouldn’t,” the letter reads from far-left groups such as the Justice Democrats and the Women’s March.

“Instead of leading, you and your colleagues have asked us to wait — wait for the Mueller report, wait for the unredacted Mueller report, wait for Mueller’s testimony about the Mueller report, wait for more investigations, wait for bipartisan consensus, wait for impeachment to poll better, or wait for the 2020 election,” it continues.

The letter sent Tuesday comes as Pelosi continues to face immense pressure from dozens of Democrats on Capitol Hill to support impeachment. Over 50 congressional Democrats now say they support a measure to oust the president — as do several White House hopefuls, including Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Cory Booker (D-NJ).

The coalition of far-left organizations also cited the Trump administration’s policies on immigration and LGBTQ rights in their plea for impeachment proceedings to begin.

The letter states: “Waiting is not a privilege available to the families separated by his deportation force or his Muslim ban, or the asylum seekers languishing in Mexico, or people threatened by his embrace of white supremacy, or the LGBTQ people whose rights he is taking away, or the women whose bodies he is trying to control or the communities threatened by his denial of the climate crisis.”

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s statement last Wednesday ignited a flurry of calls for impeachment despite reiterating his report’s key finding: Investigators determined the Trump campaign and Russia did not commit criminal conspiracy during the 2016 presidential election. Though the special counsel did note several episodes of potential obstruction of justice, Attorney General William Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein determined that the president had not done so.
