MSNBC Host Rev. Al Sharpton Attacks President Trump at George Floyd Funeral: “Wickedness in high places” (Video)

MSNBC host and former Democratic Party presidential candidate Rev. Al Sharpton attacked President Trump at the the funeral for George Floyd held in Houston Tuesday. Sharpton berated Trump for the forced clearing out of protesters a block from the White House a week ago Monday before the President stood in front of a church set on fire by protesters the night before.

“You take rubber bullets & tear gas to clear out peaceful protesters & then take a Bible & walk in front of a Church & use a church as a prop. Wickedness in high places…”

Floyd died May 25 in Minneapolis while being arrested for allegedly passing a counterfeit twenty dollar bill at a store. Video of Floyd on the pavement by a police car repeatedly saying “I can’t breath” and calling out “Mama” while being restrained by now fired officer Derek Chauvin with a knee to his neck for almost nine minutes until he was dead sparked national outrage, protests and riots.

Chauvin and the other three officers involved in the arrest of Floyd have been charged in his death, with Chauvin charged with second degree murder and manslaughter.

President Trump has condemned the death in police custody of Floyd and ordered the Justice Department to investigate. Trump has also acted to quell the riots and looting in Washington, D.C. and across the country following the death of Floyd.

Trump’s show of support for St. John’s Church after it was burned by protesters has been criticized by Democrats and reporters for the use of force by police to clear out protesters from the area.

85 Shot – 24 Dead in Chicago’s Most Violent Weekend Following Leftist Riots — As Democrats Continue to Call to Defund the Police

The “mostly peaceful” leftist rioters in Chicago dragged police officers through the street and kicked them in the head last week.

The far left rioters and looters made Chicago’s Magnificent Mile look like Chicago’s Boarded Up Mile.

By last weekend the left was calling to defund the police in several US cities.

This past weekend Chicago suffered its most violent weekend of the year.

The Sun-Times reported:

Twenty-four people were killed and at least 61 others were wounded by gun violence in Chicago’s most violent weekend of the year so far, which also saw widespread protests, riots and looting throughout the city in the wake of the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd.

More than half of the weekend’s victims were shot on Sunday as the city reeled from violent protests Saturday night that led to hundreds of arrests and the implementation of a curfew.

Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said Monday that of the total fatal shootings over the weekend, 17 homicides occurred on Sunday alone. The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed 15 for Sunday, with another three at unknown locations.

The weekend’s toll surpasses the tally from the same weekend in 2019, when 52 people were wounded — 8 fatally — in citywide gun violence.

Wow! Minneapolis City Council President Says Calling the Police on Burglars “Comes from a Place of Privilege” (VIDEO)

After nearly two weeks of violence, mayhem, and rioting in Minneapolis, the City Council on Sunday voted on their intent to disband the police department.

The wild proposal would invest in “community-led public safety” instead of police officers.

“We are here today because George Floyd was killed by the Minneapolis Police Department. We are also here because, here in Minneapolis and in cities across the United States, it is clear that our existing system of policing and public safety isn’t working for so many of our neighbors,” Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender said in a written statement Sunday, obtained by the Appeal. “Our efforts at incremental reform have failed.”

The effort has a veto-proof majority in the council, and many of the members have been publicly outspoken about their disdain for the police department.

On Monday Council President Lisa Bender joined Alisyn Camerota on CNN to discuss the plan.

When asked about who people will call if their home is broken into, who to call, Lisa Bender said this:

Lisa Bender: “Yes, I mean, and I hear that loud and clear from several of my neighbors, and I know, and myself too, and I know that comes from a place of privilege.”

Veto-Proof Majority of Minneapolis City Councillors Commit to Disbanding Police Department

A veto-proof majority of nine Minneapolis City Councillors appear to have endorsed the full abolition of the Minneapolis Police Department, making it likely that the city will soon proceed with a radical social experiment in which a major American city will go without law enforcement .

Jeremiah Ellison, a Minneapolis City Councillor and the son of left-wing pro-ANTIFA Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, was among the first of the city councilors to stand behind the full abolition of the city police department. Lisa Bender, the President of the City Council, followed shortly after, moving the proposal towards political reality.

The Appeal reported that nine members of the city council signed onto a pledge that endorses the disbanding of the police department on Sunday. The amount of councilors who have signed will place the initiative beyond the possibility of a mayor’s veto.

Bender stated on Sunday that the council’s plan to abolish the police department will “end policing as we know it, and to recreate systems of public safety that actually keep us safe.” It’s still unclear exactly what the Minneapolis Council’s replacement for the existing law enforcement system will look like, and the possibilities range from little more than a PR-friendly rebrand of the Minneapolis Police Department to an unprecedented social experiment in which de facto militias will step in the void of previous civilian law enforcement.

Progressive Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey was forced to depart from an anti-police protest in a literal walk of shame on Saturday, being aggressively jeered and booed after he refused to commit to the disbanding of the police department. Frey attempted to deflect away from the issue with vague progressive platitudes, but when a protest organizer demanded that he answer the question, he was viciously booed and quite literally exiled from the protest event.

Frey is also hoping to receive more than $55 million in bailout funds from the federal government in order to repair the damages inflicted upon the city through the race riots he failed to contain as mayor. The abolition of the police department all but assures that his request will be flatly denied, as the possibility of the city being ransacked by rioters and looters in the future after the police department is abolished is considerably more likely.

The social experiment will ultimately place the left’s vision of a police-free society to the test.
