Rising intolerance or a pushback against ‘extremism’? Millennials show decline in LGBTQ acceptance

A new study suggests that young Americans are becoming less comfortable around LGBTQ people. The data indicates either an uptick in bigotry or a blowback against “extremism” in the gay community – depending on whom you ask.

The number of Americans in the 18-to-34 bracket who are comfortable interacting with LGBTQ people fell from 53% in 2017 to 45% in 2018, according to the annual Accelerating Acceptance report. That figure is down from 63% in 2016.

The findings raise serious questions about the common conception that young people are more progressive and tolerant than older generations, John Gerzema, CEO of The Harris Poll, which conducted the study on behalf of LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD, said.

These numbers are very alarming and signal a looming social crisis in discrimination.”

LGTBQ activist Brandon Straka took a different view, however, accusing an “extremist, progressive faction” within the gay community of alienating people.

“Our community has been overtaken by a very sort of extremist, very political faction that has tried to essentially politicize everything under the umbrella of LGBT,” Straka told RT.

The study’s provocative findings come at the end of Pride Month, during which the LGBTQ community holds parades and other events.

Ted Cruz Calls for FBI to ‘Investigate and Bring Legal Action’ Against Portland Mayor

Texas Senator Ted Cruz has called on both the FBI and the Department of Justice to investigate Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler.

“To law enforcement: find & prosecute these violent felons,” Cruz tweeted after the violent left-wing Antifa attacks on Saturday. “To federal law enforcement,” he wrote. “Investigate & bring legal action against a Mayor who has, for political reasons, ordered his police officers to let citizens be attacked by domestic terrorists.”

Wheeler is under fire for his response — or lack thereof — to the violent Antifa protesters in the city under his care. During the demonstrations, journalist Andy Ngo was beaten in the head and hit with a milkshake allegedly filled with quick-dry cement. Cruz also wentafter Vox writer Carlos Maza for encouraging the actions.

“Troubling, if true,” Cruz said of a screenshot of a Maza tweet posted on Sunday. “Should ‘journalists’ be inciting physical violence against those with whom they disagree?” Maza had encouraged his 132,000 folowers to “milkshake them all,” and “humiliate them at every turn” so they would “dread public organizing.”

Journalists and law enforcement were harassed and assaulted at the scene of the Antifa protests. The demonstrators threw furniture and trash cans, allegedly used pepper spray, and threw various items at officers.

Other have, like Cruz, called Wheeler to account for his non-intervention. UFC athlete Tim Kennedy went so far as to publicly call for Wheeler’s resignation.

“What happened to [Ngo] is horrible and inexcusable,” he said. “[Wheeler] should be resign for what he has done to #portland.” Kennedy also sympathized with the Portland police officers. “The socialists with #antifa are dangerous and un-American.”

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Asks Kamala Harris How She Doesn’t ‘Have Hatred Towards White People’ (VIDEO)

MSNBC host Chris Matthews asked Kamala Harris how she does not have “hatred towards white people” after she claimed to have been one of the first groups of black children in California to be bused to schools to enforce desegregation.

During Thursday night’s Democratic primary debate, Harris confronted former Vice President Joe Biden about his boasting of working with two segregationists during his career in the senate.

“I do not believe you are a racist. And I agree with you when you commit yourself to the importance of finding common ground,” Harris said. “But it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country.”

Harris went on to tell a story about her childhood, saying “there was little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day — and that little girl was me.”

During her post-debate interview in the spin room in Miami, Matthews asked her about the story of her childhood — and how she doesn’t hate white people.

“I have a great deal of respect for Joe Biden,” Harris told MSNBC. “I do not believe he’s a racist but his perspective on those [segregationist] senators was something that was hurtful and it had consequences.”

“How did you come out of that and not have hatred towards white people, generally?” Matthews asked.

“Most Americans do not conduct themselves that way, and most parents don’t conduct themselves that way,” Harris responded. “So there was no need to create a broad application because of that one experience, but we cannot deny that there are many children, black children in America who have had that experience.”

Jimmy Carter Claims Donald Trump an Illegitimate President

Former President Jimmy Carter suggested Friday that President Trump’s victory in 2016 was illegitimate due to Russian interference in the election.

During a panel discussion on human rights issues at the Carter Center conference, the former president contended that a proper investigation into the extent of Russian meddling would, in fact, reveal President Trump did not win the White House.

“The president himself should condemn it,” Carter said when asked how the administration should deal with alleged election meddling. “Admit that it happened, which 16 intelligence agencies have already agreed to say.”

“There’s no doubt the Russians did interfere in the election and I think the interference, although not yet quantified, if fully investigated, will show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016.”

“He lost the election and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf,” he added.

Carter was then asked if he believed President Trump illegitimately occupied the White House, he replied: “Based on what I said, which I can’t retract.”

Despite the two presidents’ policy differences, President Trump and Carter have shared a cordial relationship. Carter recently stated Trump was correct to not launch a military strike against Iran after a U.S. drone was shot down by the regime. The pair have previously discussed foreign policy issues such as North Korean denuclearization and trade with China.

(…AOC MAD: ‘HELL NO’…) – Ocasio-Cortez Opposes Pelosi’s Decision to Pass Senate Border Bill

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) went off on Twitter after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced her intention to have the House “reluctantly” pass a bipartisan border funding bill Thursday.

Pelosi backed down Thursday, announcing her intention to have House Democrats “reluctantly” pass the Senate version of a $4.5 billion bill aimed to address the festering crisis on the southern border.

“In order to get resources to the children fastest, we will reluctantly pass the Senate bill,” Pelosi wrote her colleagues.

“As we pass the Senate bill, we will do so with a Battle Cry as to how we go forward to protect children in a way that truly honors their dignity and worth,” she added.

Democrat leadership in the House had been pushing their own version of the bill that “included new safety and care standards for law-enforcers working with migrants,” the Hill reports.

However, some lawmakers worried over extending the bitter battle and eventually opted to pass the Senate version in order to address the issue swiftly.

Ocasio-Cortez was incensed, writing on Twitter, “Under no circumstances should the House vote for a McConnell-only bill w/ no negotiation with Democrats.”

“Hell no,” she continued. “That’s an abdication of power we should refuse to accept. They will keep hurting kids if we do.”

The New York lawmaker lamented the Senate’s Republican majority but failed to mention that the bill passed Wednesday 84-8.

“A minority is different than a majority,” she tweeted. “And while the Senate has to deal with its lack of power there, a House majority should have a seat @ the table.”

Ocasio-Cortez said lawmakers should stay past the July 4 recess to “add some amendments” to the Senate bill.

California City Proposes Giving Cash to Violent Gang Members Not to Commit Shootings

How could this go wrong?

By Shane Trejo

As leftist California descends into bankruptcy and despair, the leftist-run city governments of the state are getting more radical with their liberal schemes to solve the many problems they helped to create in the first place.

The latest mind-boggling trend in California cities plagued with crime is actually paying gang members not to commit violent crimes.

After a 3-2 vote at Thursday’s city council meeting, the local government of Fresno is set to authorize city leaders such as Mayor Lee Brand and Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer to determine whether the Advance Peace program should be implemented.

If city officials determine that the program is viable, they could be budgeted up to $200,000 in taxpayer dollars to dole out to gang members as a supposed deterrent against committing shootings and other violent crimes. They hope to raise private funding as well to further pay off these thugs.

“I don’t think we should be spending $200,000 or $300,000 over the next five years on a program that certainly has value, but we have a lot of needs in the city of Fresno, it always comes down to priorities,” said Councilmember Garry Bredefeld, who voted against the proposal.

This measure was proposed by Councilmember Miguel Arias, who believes that tax revenue from the increased “cannabis activity” going on within the city following the legalization of marijuana would help pay for the costs of the program.

“In essence, Advanced Peace identifies the most active shooters in Fresno and enrolls them into a prevention program to help them with mentorship and job placement,” Arias said.

Chief Dyer points to the Mayor’s Gang Prevention Initiative and Operation Ceasefire as initiatives that are already in place that make this program unnecessary.

“I am philosophically opposed to giving money to any gang member,” Dyer said.

Fresno would not be the first city in California to implement such a program. The city of Richmond is where the Advance Peace program debuted, and it has since spread to Sacramento and Stockton.

Richmond gives gang members who claim they have given up violence stipends ranging from $300 to $1,000 per month. Sacramento is pumping $1.5 million into their version of the program, with Advance Peace matching that total in privately raised capital.

There is no data showing these programs are effective in combating crime, but that hasn’t stopped liberal cities throughout California from pushing them anyway. Fresno may be the latest city to initiate a program that very well may subsidize violent gang activity in their communities.

Project Veritas – Leaked Google Document Labels Prager U, Jordan Peterson ‘Nazis’

By Lucas Nolan

Google documents leaked to Project Veritas show the company referring to popular conservative personalities such as Jordan Peterson and Dennis Prager as “Nazis.”

recent report from investigative journalism group Project Veritas claims that leaked internal Google documents shows a Google employee and a member of a Google “transparency-and-ethics” group calling conservative and libertarian commentators such as Dennis Prager, Ben Shapiro, and Jordan Peterson, “Nazis.” The email was sent as part of internal communications between the Google “transparency-and-ethics” group and suggests that content published by PragerU, Jordan Peterson, and Ben Shapiro should be removed from the “suggestion feature.”

A Google employee named Liam Hopkins can be seen stating: “…if we understand that PragerU, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro et al are nazis using the dog whistles…” The employee further suggests following through with the suggestion of another employee named Meredith: “I don’t think correctly identifying far-right content is beyond our capabilities. But if it is, why not go with Meredith’s suggestion of disabling the suggestion feature?”

Following the publication of an undercover video of Google executive Jen Gennai stating that the company was working to prevent another “Trump situation” after the 2016 election; the executive stated in a Medium blog post“Google has repeatedly been clear that it works to be a trustworthy source of information, without regard to political viewpoint. In fact, Google has no notion of political ideology in its rankings.” Yet here we see Google employees discussing doing exactly that.

Gennai also claims that the Project Veritas video is selectively edited and pushes a series of “debunked conspiracy theories,” about censorship. What Gennai does not address is her direct comments about Google’s view of Congress, the company’s refusal to appear before Congress and her statements claiming that Google will not change its business practices regardless of what Congress says:

Project Veritas has edited the video to make it seem that I am a powerful executive who was confirming that Google is working to alter the 2020 election. On both counts, this is absolute, unadulterated nonsense, of course. In a casual restaurant setting, I was explaining how Google’s Trust and Safety team (a team I used to work on) is working to help prevent the types of online foreign interference that happened in 2016. Google has been very public about the work that our teams have done since 2016 on this, so it’s hardly a revelation.

The video then goes on to stitch together a series of debunked conspiracy theories about our search results, and our other products. Google has repeatedly been clear that it works to be a trustworthy source of information, without regard to political viewpoint. In fact, Google has no notion of political ideology in its rankings. And everything I have seen backs this up. Our CEO has said ”We do not bias our products to favor any political agenda.” He’s somewhat more powerful and authoritative than me.

But despite what the video may have you believe, I’m not involved in any of these products, just like I’m not involved in any of the other topics Project Veritas baited me into discussing (whether it’s antitrust, Congress, or the dozens of other topics that didn’t appear in the video, on which I presumably didn’t say anything that could be twisted to their advantage). I was having a casual chat with someone at a restaurant and used some imprecise language. Project Veritas got me. Well done.
