Cupp began the segment on Saturday with Swalwell by telling him she appreciates the fact that he is one of the few leftist candidates who admits he plans to take away an entire category of firearms.
Cupp said: “You are the only candidate who is calling for a confiscation of guns. You say you want to ban and buy back every single assault weapon in America. You’ve touted Australia as a model of how gun confiscation works.”
She added, “Gun control advocates often say no one is coming to take your guns away, [but] you say, ‘Yes I am.’ And that is refreshingly honest.”
Swalwell contrasted himself with the rest of the Democrat field, saying: “Other candidates have called for an “assault weapons” ban, but they only want to ban future manufacturing, and future sales. And I think if you recognize that an “assault weapon” shouldn’t be made any more in America, why don’t you just get to the point where you say ‘Those that are here, shouldn’t be here.’ That’s where I”m at.”
Cupp pointed out that “assault weapons” are involved in “less that five percent of gun murders” in America. She then asked Swalwell why he is “stopping at ‘assault weapons’ …and not confiscating handguns, which account for the vast majority of gun deaths.”
Swalwell made clear he also has a plan for handguns, but he is focused on getting rid of “assault weapons” first.

In a recent tweet Customs and Border protection posted a photo of a very young immigrant child with chickenpox who was part of a fraudulent family unit.
The male who the child was with is not related to the child and has ties to MS-13 gang.

Covering their faces and refusing to speak, 30-year-old Tunisian Sief Allah and his 43-year-old German wife Yasmin began the first day of their 18 days of trial in the Dusseldorf Higher Regional Court Friday.
Although the couple refuses to cooperate, the state believes it has already gathered enough evidence to convict them by the end of August. They face up to 15 years in prison.
The two were arrested last summer following a police raid, accused of planning “to kill and wound the largest possible number of people” with a ricin bomb they made at home. Sief is alleged to have been in contact with people from the Islamic State who encouraged the attack, and had twice attempted to travel to Syria.
Prosecutors say that the authorities were tipped off when the couple ordered suspicious ingredients on the internet which they had used to create a small amount of ricin, a poison which is 6,000 times more potent than cyanide, and can be lethal if inhaled.
Police also found bomb components including 250 metal balls which could have been used as shrapnel, two bottles of nail polish remover and wires soldered onto lightbulbs. One expert said the attack could have killed as many as 100 people.

Mexican soldiers, armed police and migration officials blocked hundreds of migrants after they crossed the border from Guatemala in a caravan into southern Mexico on Wednesday, and detained dozens of them, a witness from a migrant aid group and an official said.
The Mexican response in the border town of Metapa, which included dozens of soldiers, marked a toughening of the government’s efforts to curb the flow of mainly Central American migrants, said Salva Cruz, a coordinator with Fray Matias de Cordova.
“That many sailors and military police, yes, it’s new,” Cruz said, by WhatsApp, from Metapa, in the southern border state of Chiapas, where the vast majority of migrants from Central America cross into Mexico. […]
Migration officials detained 350 to 400 people, the official said, noting that federal police and agents from the National Guard were present. Mexico’s government recently created a militarized police force called the National Guard made up of soldiers and federal police.

On Tuesday, every House Democrat and seven House Republicans voted to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens living across the United States so long as the nationals claim they arrived in the country as children.
The vote came as illegal immigration levels at the southern border have hit a two-decade high for the month of May. More than one to 1.5 million illegal aliens are expected to be added to the U.S. population this year alone.
The Koch brothers, who serve as mega-donors to the Republican establishment, praised House Democrats’ mass amnesty effort through their various economic libertarian organizations like the Libre Initiative and Americans for Prosperity.
“Today’s vote to provide a path to permanent legal status for the Dreamers and TPS recipients is a positive step,” Libre Initiative president Daniel Garza said in a statement:
The Dreamers know no other home than the United States. Every day they contribute to our economy and communities, but there is one big thing holding them back: the uncertainty around their status. Until and unless the law changes – giving them a way to remain legally in the United States – they remain limited in contributing to America’s success. [Emphasis added]
We are hopeful that this vote sets the stage for discussions among leaders in both parties, in both the House and Senate. Given the extraordinary level of support for the Dreamers among the American people, this can’t be the end of the discussion. It has to be a new beginning – the start of a discussion about how to move legislation through the House and Senate and have it signed by the president. We are thankful to lawmakers who support this important effort. [Emphasis added]
The Koch network’s economic libertarian, anti-populist agenda of free trade, mass legal immigration, and entitlement reform has little-to-no support among the American electorate. The economic libertarian agenda, once fronted by former House Speaker Paul Ryan, failed to sway voters in the 2018 midterm elections.
The Kochs and their network have opposed any reductions to legal immigration to raise American workers’ wages; reforms to save U.S. taxpayers billions by ending welfare-dependent legal immigration; and an end to the country’s birthright citizenship policy that rewards illegal aliens’ U.S.-born children with American citizenship.
Every year the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million immigrants, with the vast majority coming from family-based chain migration whereby newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S. In 2016, the legal and illegal immigrant population reached a record high of 44.5 million. By 2023, the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that the legal and illegal immigrant population of the U.S. will make up nearly 15 percent of the U.S. population.
The audit found that Medicaid had made improper payments of $933,594 for “drugs, procedures, and supplies” to treat erectile dysfunction between 2012 and 2018, which is illegal under state and federal laws. “There are clear rules about what conditions Medicaid will cover when it comes to erectile dysfunction drugs,” state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli said in a statement.
Of the 47 sex offenders who’d received the treatments, 30 of them were classified as “level-2” or “level-3” offenders. Risk of reoffending is determined as “moderate” for level-2 offenders and “high” for level-3 offenders.
DiNapoli said the problem of Medicaid being used to treat sexual dysfunction issues had been identified by the comptroller’s office in 2005, when it found that Medicaid had paid for Viagra for 198 recipients who were classified as level-3 sex offenders. That review sparked an overhaul and led to reforms in the system on both a national and state level, but the latest audit confirms the problem persists.
In a response to the audit, the state’s Department of Health dismissed the findings, arguing that the drugs in question “can also be used to treat other indications” including hypertension and enlarged prostates. The department claims less than $8,000 of the figure was questionable, out of a $60 billion state program.
DiNapoli rejected the response, however, saying in many cases recipients had no other relevant diagnosis.
