The Netflix documentary Knock Down the House, which follows the campaigns of female Democratic hopefuls in the 2018 election cycle, and highlights Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), is so far the highest rated film of 2019, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

The documentary, which had its rights purchased by Netflix for a whopping $10 million, has a 100 percent approval rating among Rotten Tomatoes users, eclipsing the likes of Amazing Grace, Apollo 11and Ash is the Purest White.

Knock Down the House follows the campaigns of female Democratic hopefuls Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Amy Vilela, Cori Bush, and Paula Jean Swearengin as they campaigned for Congress during the 2018 midterm elections.

“At a moment of historic volatility in American politics, these four women decide to fight back, setting themselves on a journey that will change their lives and their country forever,” notes Rotten Tomatoes. “Without political experience or corporate money, they build a movement of insurgent candidates challenging powerful incumbents in Congress. Their efforts result in a legendary upset.”

In February, the film won the coveted audience award at the Sundance Film Festival and a five-minute standing ovation. Ocasio-Cortez, who was the only one of the four women featured to win her election, was not in attendance but sent a message to the audience via video link.

“I’m just so glad that this moment for all four of us was captured and documented not just for the personal meaning of it but for everyday people to see that yes, this is incredibly challenging, yes, the odds are long but also that yes, this is worth it,” she said.

The film, which premiered on Netflix in May, also drew gushing reviews from left-wing critics. The Guardian‘s Jordan Hoffman wrote described it as “inspiring and a “classic David and Goliath scenario.”

“Everyone likes an underdog story, and when the underdog is as eloquent, passionate and righteous as these four women are, the final reels of this film feel like a Rocky movie,” he wrote at the time.

1000S OF ILLEGALS QUARANTINED AFTER EXPOSURE TO CHICKEN POX, MUMPS

1000s Of Illegals Quarantined After Exposure To Chicken Pox, Mumps

“I think there is heightened interest in this situation because it’s the mumps.”

Approximately 5,200 adult migrants in US custody for illegally entering the country have been quarantined by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after being exposed to mumps or chicken poxaccording to the agency.

An ICE official told CNN on Friday that of the quarantined individuals, approximately 80% (4,200) were exposed to mumps, 800 were exposed to chicken pox, and around 100 migrants were exposed to both. They will be quarantined for 25 days.

Just because individuals are quarantined doesn’t mean they have the mumps, but they’ve at least been exposed to it. From September 2018 to June 13, 297 people in ICE custody had confirmed cases of mumps, proven by blood test. –CNN

The agency began recording cases of mumps last September, with 297 cases for the period of time ending June 13.

“I think there is heightened interest in this situation because it’s the mumps, which is a new occurrence in custody, but preventing the spread of communicable disease in ICE custody is something we have demonstrated success doing,” said ICE executive associate director for enforcement and removal operations, Nathalie Asher.

“From an operational perspective, the impact is significant in the short and long term and will result in an increase in cohorted detainees’ length of stay in detention, an inability to effect removal of eligible cohorted detainees, and postponing scheduled consular interviews for quarantined detainees,” Ascher added.

According to the report, ICE staff has been put on alert.

“This week, the ICE Health Service Corps issued a reminder to senior field leadership reminding their staff to review vaccination records and take appropriate actions,” said CNN‘s source.

In May, almost 133,000 illegals were apprehended by Customs and Border Protection, the vast majority of whom were families and unaccompanied minors.

CBP employees are overwhelmed

This week, Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan said that employee morale among border officials is low.

“Their morale is impacted. They’re tired. A lot of them have gotten sick. They’ve been exposed to flu, chicken pox, measles, mumps — all kinds of challenges in terms of the medical care,” he said. “They’re spending time overnight in hospitals instead of patrolling the border.”

Late last month, the Department of Homeland Security inspector general released a report detailing some of the issues facing border patrol facilities amid the swell of migrant arrivals.

In particular, the IG found “dangerous overcrowding” and unsanitary conditions at an El Paso, Texas, Border Patrol processing facility following an unannounced inspection, according to a new report.

The IG found “standing room only conditions” at the El Paso Del Norte Processing Center, which has a maximum capacity of 125 migrants. On May 7 and 8, logs indicated that there were “approximately 750 and 900 detainees, respectively.” –CNN

“We also observed detainees standing on toilets in the cells to make room and gain breathing space, thus limiting access to the toilets,” according to the report.

We wonder how far along Trump’s wall would be by now if Congress had played ball on day one.

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican national with a history of immigration violations for allegedly carrying a Molotov cocktail as he crossed the boundary near Roma, Texas.

Border Patrol agents working near Roma came upon a Mexican national who had allegedly crossed illegally from his home country. Agents found the 53-year-old man hiding in the brush with a “homemade gasoline bomb,” Valley Central CBS4 reported this week.

Authorities told the news outlet that agents found Joel Salinas Garcia, a Mexican national, with a glass container filled with gasoline and a cloth stuffed in the top of the bottle, the news outlet reported. Officials said the situation could have turned deadly.

Public records obtained by the local CBS affiliate indicate Garcia has a history of at least two arrests for illegal entry into the U.S., the article stated.

Garcia’s mugshot reveals a heavily tattooed man with “Mexico” emblazoned across his stomach.

KRGV reported the device to be a “Molotov cocktail.” The report indicates the Mexican national is being held on an immigration violation and a charge of possession of a prohibited weapon. No one was hurt during the arrest, officials stated.

Breitbart News reached out to the Roma Police Department for more information about the incident. An immediate response from police officials was not available.

Mexico begins roll-out of troops along its southern border following Trump’s tariff threat

CAP

Mexico has started deploying its National Guard to its southern border, as part of a bargain with Washington to do more to curb the flow of Central American migrants, or to endure threatened tariff hikes on its imports to the US.

Speaking during a press briefing on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said the roll-out of some 6,000 troops across its border with Guatemala had commenced and would “progress rapidly” over the “coming days.” It follows an agreement reached with the Trump administration on Friday, at which Mexico pledged to up its game in stemming the flow of migrants trying to get into US. The deal narrowly avoided Washington making good on its threat to slap Mexican imports with a 5 percent increase in duties, a sanction for its perceived inaction on the issue.

Mexico has also agreed to have these efforts monitored over the next 45 days to see how effective they have been, with Ebrard noting “a lot of things have to happen” over that period.

He added that his ministry was already in talks with neighboring Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, from where most people are coming from, and a working group had been formed to discuss areas of cooperation on stopping the flow of people from Central America. Further details will be arranged with US immigration officials on Friday.

Joined by Ebrard was Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. On the subject of how Mexico would pay for the increased security, Obradror said the increased security would be in part paid for by the off-loading of the presidential jet and helicopters purchased by his predecessor. Worth a minimum of $150 million, the sale of the jet fulfils one of Obrador’s first promises to citizens following his election last year.

“We are selling all the planes and helicopters that the corrupt politicians used,” Obrador told a rally in December, much to the delight of his supporters.

VOX ONCE GAVE PLATFORM TO YOUTUBE COMIC WHO TOLD GAYS “KILL YOURSELF”

Vox Once Gave Platform to YouTube Comic Who Told Gays "Kill Yourself"

“It’s OK when we do it”

JUNE 11,2019

Vox – the company that led the effort to ban Steven Crowder over his use of homophobic language – previously gave a platform to Filthy Frank, who produced a satirical YouTube video in which he sang the words, “you’re a giant f*ggot and you should kill yourself.”

Oh, the foul stench of hypocrisy.

Last week, Crowder has his channel de-monetized by YouTube after Vox’s Carlos Maza accused the comedian of using gay slurs against him, despite Maza using some of the same slurs against himself in previous comments.

This led to the #VoxAdPocalypse, with leftist outrage mobs pressuring YouTube to delete or de-monetize thousands of videos and channels which featured controversial material. The collateral damage even took out some historical archive channels, prompting educators to complain that they had been censored for “hatemongering”.

However, Vox’s disdain for homophobic language was noticeably absent when they gave Filthy Frank a pass during a 2017 profile video which amassed almost 3 million views, allowing his fans to make the argument that offensive and politically incorrect language was OK because Filthy Frank is just a comedy character.

“Filthy Frank pulls no punches and even openly says the word “faggot” without bleeping it,” writes Brandon Morse. “In one video, he comedically apologized — much like Crowder did — for saying certain things, especially against the LGBT community. This video ended with a song with the lyrics “… you’re gay now / you’re a giant faggot and you should kill yourself.”

“It should be striking everyone as weird that Vox was only too happy to celebrate comedic videos featuring a person encouraging gay people to kill themselves just two years ago. Suddenly it can’t help but grasp at its pearls at the mere suggestion that someone is “queer,” he adds.

As ever with the left, the motto always seems to be, “It’s OK when we do it.”
