(…AOC MAD: ‘HELL NO’…) – Ocasio-Cortez Opposes Pelosi’s Decision to Pass Senate Border Bill

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) went off on Twitter after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced her intention to have the House “reluctantly” pass a bipartisan border funding bill Thursday.

Pelosi backed down Thursday, announcing her intention to have House Democrats “reluctantly” pass the Senate version of a $4.5 billion bill aimed to address the festering crisis on the southern border.

“In order to get resources to the children fastest, we will reluctantly pass the Senate bill,” Pelosi wrote her colleagues.

“As we pass the Senate bill, we will do so with a Battle Cry as to how we go forward to protect children in a way that truly honors their dignity and worth,” she added.

Democrat leadership in the House had been pushing their own version of the bill that “included new safety and care standards for law-enforcers working with migrants,” the Hill reports.

However, some lawmakers worried over extending the bitter battle and eventually opted to pass the Senate version in order to address the issue swiftly.

Ocasio-Cortez was incensed, writing on Twitter, “Under no circumstances should the House vote for a McConnell-only bill w/ no negotiation with Democrats.”

“Hell no,” she continued. “That’s an abdication of power we should refuse to accept. They will keep hurting kids if we do.”

The New York lawmaker lamented the Senate’s Republican majority but failed to mention that the bill passed Wednesday 84-8.

“A minority is different than a majority,” she tweeted. “And while the Senate has to deal with its lack of power there, a House majority should have a seat @ the table.”

Ocasio-Cortez said lawmakers should stay past the July 4 recess to “add some amendments” to the Senate bill.

It’s not a new problem, so why does the media only care about dead migrant children under Trump?

The tragic image of a drowned father and child washed ashore on the Rio Grande is being used as easy ammunition against Donald Trump — but where was the outpouring of grief when migrants were dying under the Obama administration?

There is no good argument to be made that journalists should not be critical in their coverage of the Trump administration. After all, to hold the president to account, to inform the public on the consequences of his policy choices, “to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable” as that famous saying goes, is all in the job description. It’s just a pity they only decided to take the responsibility seriously when Trump took office.

Why should anyone believe that their showy displays of grief and horror are sincere now, given their silence during the Obama years, when many of the same policies causing outrage now were also in place then?

The same thing goes for the Democrats, who are eagerly attempting to cast themselves as the party of compassion. Joe Biden railed against Trump’s “deportation state” in the Miami Herald this week, despite having served as vice president under Obama, dubbed the ‘Deporter in Chief’ by immigrants rights activists.

The Obama administration deported more migrants than any previous administration, with children “moved to the head of the line to be turfed out.

Two years before Trump appeared on the scene, in 2014, 445 people died attempting to cross an increasingly militarized border. Obama boasted in 2011 that the number of border patrol agents had more than doubled since 2004 — proud that he had continued the increases that had begun under the Bush administration.

The University of Arizona’s Binational Migration Institute explained in a 2013 report that “segmented border militarization”had resulted in “the redistribution of migratory flows into remote and dangerous areas such as southern Arizona.” Rights organizations spoke up about the “alarming rise of migrant deaths on US soil.”

It would be inaccurate to say that there was no coverage of the crisis while Obama was president. There was some bland, less-emotional coverage. There was also some in-depth reporting which captured the extent of the crisis — but there was no mass media mobilization against Obama himself. The facts and death tolls were not plastered across the cable news networks night and day. No one argued that Obama was shaming America.

CAP

A clip of a Trump administration lawyer arguing that migrant children did not need soap and toothpaste to be “safe and sanitary” went viral last week. It was jarring to listen to, but again, there was nothing new here — only the willingness of some to suddenly be moved to outrage.

A 2015 lawsuit described “inhumane” conditions in border detention facilities under Obama. Men, women and children, it said, were “packed into overcrowded and filthy holding cells with the lights glaring day and night.” They suffered “in brutally cold temperatures; deprived of beds, bedding, and sleep,” were denied adequate food, water and medical care, as well as “basic sanitation items” like soap, toilet paper and diapers. This all while the media treated Obama with kid gloves and liberals sang his praises.

There were no deaths of children in Customs and Border Protection custody under Obama — and there have been six under the Trump administration, so it is fair to argue, that with the implementation of some more extreme anti-asylum policies and perhaps an even greater lack of caring, Trump has taken an already dysfunctional, inhumane and under-funded system — and simply made it worse.

CAP

There is a case to be made that he has done this on purpose; to make the situation as unappealing as possible to those who might be tempted to make the treacherous and potentially fatal journey to and across the US’s southern border — but the reality is, however unappealing he tries to make it, for many, it will still be more appealing than the alternative.

The biggest elephant in the room, however, is not that the Obama administration was guilty of many of the same things as the current one. It’s that every single US administration for decades has been guilty of contributing to the creation of this crisis through an abominable imperialist foreign policy that has ravaged the very countries these migrants are coming from.

Democrats and Republicans have spent decades enthusiastically destabilizing Latin America under the guise of democracy promotion. In reality, they have stolen its wealth and resources, engineered military coups and installed dictators, funded and equipped death squads — and imposed deadly economic sanctions. Where are all the liberals crying about that? How could such inhumane policy have led to anything else?

It’s hardly the first time an image of a dead child has been used to serve a political agenda. Remember Omran Daqneesh, the five-year-old boy who became the face of Syria’s war after a photo of him, covered in ash and sitting shell-shocked in an ambulance, shot around the world?

Regime-change activists within the mainstream media commentariat had the audacity to use that image to call for more Western bombing — so, seeing some of the same crowd using the image of Valeria Martinez to frame Trump as uniquely evil in the history of the US presidency is no big surprise.

THE MEDIA IS YET AGAIN TRYING TO EMOTIONALLY MANIPULATE PEOPLE TO ACCEPT OPEN BORDERS BY EXPLOITING PHOTOS OF DEAD CHILDREN

The Media is Yet Again Trying to Emotionally Manipulate People to Accept Open Borders by Exploiting Photos of Dead Children

Same old dirty trick

JUNE 26, 2019

The media is yet again trying to emotionally manipulate people into accepting open borders by exploiting photos of dead children.

The same press and left-wing talking heads who claim that showing child victims of Islamic terror attacks is “insensitive” are all too willing to share photos of child victims who supposedly died because evil western countries have borders.

“It’s OK when we do it.”

The left has found its new ‘Aylan Kurdi’ – a toddler who washed up dead on a beach in Turkey and whose dead body photo was ruthlessly exploited by progressives to demand western Europe throw open its borders to Middle Eastern migrants.

The latest image shows a man and his 23 month old daughter lying face down dead along the bank of the Rio Grande.

Screen Shot 2019-06-26 at 11.23.51 AM

It is now being breathlessly shared by leftists are yet more proof that the Nazi-like Trump administration has enacted policies that are killing brown people en masse.

In reality, as Raheem Kassam points out, the fault for this poor child’s death lies firmly at the feet of numerous entities, none of which are Trump or his administration.

– The child’s parents for making her cross “some of the most perilous terrain on the continent”.

– Mexico for allowing their country to become a conduit for mass illegal immigration.

– Criminal gangs who are responsible for much of the instability in the region.

– Democrats who incentivize illegal immigration by refusing to support sensible border policies.

– Open borders activists funded by NGOs and corporations who also incentivize dangerous illegal immigration.

The most humanitarian way to prevent tragic scenes like the one above is to disincentivize illegal border crossings.

Matteo Salvini did it and more than halved the number of migrant deaths in the Mediterranean.

If Democrats actually cared about kids dying, they’d help President Trump build the wall.

Do leftists actually want to save the lives of children, or do they want to continue to exploit photos of their dead bodies to score political points and usurp power?

The answer is obvious.

Bernie Sanders Campaign Uses E-mail List to Warn of ICE Raids

On Saturday, just hours before ICE raids were set to begin, socialist presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders’ campaign used their e-mail network to warn supporters.

“ICE raids targeting 10 cities start Sunday. Know your rights,” the subject read. Appended to the e-mail were two graphics — one in English, the other Spanish — describing immigrant rights via guidance by the American Civil Liberties Union.

“It’s not strictly on point when it comes to building out a presidential campaign [to use campaign data] for the purpose other than running for president,” Ruthie Epstein, the ACLU deputy director of immigration policy, said. She reportedly claimed that the organization “played no role” in the e-mail alert.

The e-mail came from Sanders’ Press Secretary Belén Sisa, an undocumented immigrant through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. According to Vox, it read:

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Immigration and Customs Enforcement is planning deportation raids against immigrant families in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, and San Francisco starting early Sunday morning.

Whether or not you are an immigrant, please share this “Know Your Rights” information widely to help those who might fall victim to the cruel and inhumane policies of the Trump administration.

Sisa stood by her actions. “It is no longer enough to talk about issues like immigration, but we must take real action to fight back and protect our undocumented community, like we did on Saturday,” she told Vox. “There isn’t much else that anybody can do other than stand up in unity.”

And Sanders has pivoted hard into this issue for his 2020 campaign, though he has deliberately stopped short of advocating for open borders. “What we need is comprehensive immigration reform,” Sanders said at a town hall in Iowa.

“If you open the borders, my God, there’s a lot of poverty in this world, and you’re going to have people from all over the world,” he continued. “And I don’t think that’s something that we can do at this point. Can’t do it. So that is not my position.”

2020: Warren Crashes Migrant Shelter on Day of First Debate

By Neil Munro

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is one-upping her Democratic rivals by promising to make a pre-debate, TV-magnified visit to a nearby center that shelters foreign youths before they are handed over to U.S.-based “sponsors.”

“We have to shut down that facility and shut it down now,” Warren told supporters, according to a tweet by a Washington Post reporter. The crowd enthusiastically chanted, “Shut it down!”

Warren’s gambit highlights the growing number of progressives who emotionally oppose the federal agencies’ efforts to identify — although not actually stop — the huge wave of Central American migrants and their children who are walking into Americans’ blue-collar workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods.

Amid the emotion, and its use by Democratic politicians, only about ten percent of adult migrants are being blocked at the border. The vast majority are quickly being released precisely because they bring young children on the dangerous journey solely to trigger the catch-and-release laws that are supported by Democrats.

Also, another huge wave of more than 56,000 children and teenagers — who claim to be unaccompanied — have surrendered to border officials since October. Roughly 2,500 of those teenagers are being temporarily sheltered at the center in Homestead, Florida, run by the Department of Health and Human Services.

The Washington Post did not report where Warren thinks the Homestead youths should be sent if the HHS center is closed.

Screen Shot 2019-06-26 at 10.57.19 AM

These youths at the Homestead shelter are legally dubbed “Unaccompanied Alien Children” (UAC) because they told border agents that they were not traveling with their parents.

Most of the UAC teenagers at the center will be quickly sent to “sponsors” after officials have checked the potential sponsors for possible criminality, such as forced labor, prostitution, drug selling, and MS-13 links. The average stay is just 36 days, according to a June 19 HHS report.

But the vast majority of the sponsors are either the parents or the in-laws of the UAC teenagers, and many sponsors are also illegal migrants who have paid cartel-linked coyotes to deliver their teenagers to the Homestead camp, via the border agencies.

This UAC-smuggling strategy is dubbed the “UAC pipeline,” and it has been used since at least 2013. So far, the cartels earned a fortune by delivering a huge share of the 270,000 children and youths who have passed through the federally-operated pipeline since 2009.

In March, Democrats included a clause in the 2019 spending bill to hinder federal agencies from narrowing the UAC pipeline by deporting sponsors who are illegal migrants

Screen Shot 2019-06-26 at 10.59.23 AM

Warren’s TV-ready visit to Homestead will happen the day of the first of two Democratic debates in Miami, Florida. The Homestead center is just 30 miles down the road.

Warren’s promised visit — which will likely be accompanied by a cheering crowd of pro-migration activists — is part of an escalating race by Democrats to out-do each other in promising to open the borders to poor migrants.

For example, Beto O’Rourke pledged to dismantle the border wall, Julian Castro promised to decriminalize illegal migration, and Joe Biden wants to welcome migrants from Venezuela and also  “streamline and strengthen” the asylum laws being used by 100,000 economic migrants each month to get into the United States.

Warren, however, is keeping pace.

On June 21, for example, she promised to end the use of company-run prisons for holdingmigrants. That goal has long been sought by pro-migration groups because it would force the border agencies to expand the catch-and-release policy. In turn, the expanded catch-and-release policy would allow the cartel-linked traffickers to quickly recoup the cost of smuggling migrants into the U.S. blue-collar labor market and so stimulate the labor trafficking business that is pressuring down Americans’ salaries.

On June 25, Warren escalated again, saying she prefers to decriminalize illegal migration by letting “mamas and babies” into the United States.

“We should not be criminalizing mamas and babies trying to flee violence at home or trying to build a better future,” Warren told the Huffington Post. “We must pass comprehensive immigration reform that is in line with our values, creates a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants including our DREAMers, and protects our borders.”

A June 19 statement by HHS described operations at the center:

Due to the crisis on the southern border, ORR is facing a dramatic spike in referrals of UAC. As of June 10, DHS has referred over 52,000 UAC to HHS this fiscal year (FY), an increase of over 60 percent from FY 2018. Preliminary information shows over 9,000 referrals in May- one of the highest monthly totals in the history of the program. If these numbers continue, this fiscal year HHS will care for the largest number of UAC in the program’s history. Based on the anticipated growth pattern in referrals of UAC from DHS to HHS, HHS is preparing for the need for high bed capacity to continue.

HHS has expanded bed capacity at the Homestead Temporary Shelter for UAC in Homestead, Florida to 2,470 based on need resulting from a current increase in UAC referrals from DHS. Family separations that resulted from the Zero Tolerance Policy that ended in 2018 are not driving the continuing operation of Homestead. In addition, no children at Homestead are there due to the Zero Tolerance Policy.

Since opening in March 2018 over 13,300 UAC have been placed at the site and more than 10,800 have been discharged to a suitable sponsor.

Immigration by the Numbers

Each year, roughly four million young Americans join the workforce after graduating from high school or university.

But the federal government then imports about 1.1 million legal immigrants and refreshes a resident population of roughly 1.5 million white-collar visa workers — including approximately one million H-1B workers — and approximately 500,000 blue-collar visa workers.

The government also prints out more than one million work permits for foreigners, tolerates about eight million illegal workers, and does not punish companies for employing the hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants who sneak across the border or overstay their legal visas each year.

This policy of inflating the labor supply boosts economic growth for investors because it ensures that employers do not have to compete for American workers by offering higher wages and better working conditions.

Flooding the market with cheap, foreign, white-collar graduates and blue-collar labor also shifts enormous wealth from young employees towards older investors, even as it also widens wealth gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, and hurts children’s schools and college educations. It also pushes Americans away from high-tech careers and sidelines millions of marginalized Americans, including many who are now struggling with fentanyl addictions. The labor policy also moves business investment and wealth from the Heartland to the coastal citiesexplodes rents and housing costsshrivels real estate values in the Midwest, and rewards investors for creating low-tech, labor-intensive workplaces.

AOC Urges Supporters to Hide Illegal Aliens, Report Raids to Stop ICE Enforcement

She is encouraging lawlessness to promote her radical socialist agenda.

By Shane Trejo

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) posted on Twitter this weekend that Americans should report ICE raids and work to harbor illegal aliens in order to facilitate lawlessness and hamper President Trump’s immigration agenda.

Screen Shot 2019-06-25 at 10.25.54 AM

Screen Shot 2019-06-25 at 10.27.04 AM

Ocasio-Cortez is pushing a talking point that migrants who are overwhelming the border are being housed in concentration camps.

”The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border and that is exactly what they are – they are concentration camps – and if that doesn’t bother you,” Ocasio- Cortez said.

“I don’t use those words lightly. I don’t use those words to just throw bombs,” she added. “I use the word because that’s what an administration that creates concentration camps is. A presidency that creates concentration camps is fascist and it’s very difficult to say that.”

This has offended pro-Jewish groups who feel that her comparison trivializes the tragic events of the Holocaust.

“The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum unequivocally rejects efforts to create analogies between the Holocaust and other events, whether historical or contemporary,” the US Holocaust Memorial Museum said in a statement released on Monday.

“That position has repeatedly and unambiguously been made clear in the Museum’s official statement on the matter – a statement that is reiterated and reaffirmed now,” it continued.

The incendiary remarks from Ocasio-Cortez and her radical socialist ilk in the Democratic Party are only dividing the country further and making the U.S. less safe, a glimpse into what the future of America will be unless the demographic shift is swiftly reversed.
