‘Journalists come down’: Yellow Vests chant ‘fake news’ outside French TV station (VIDEOS)

Dozens of Yellow Vest protesters have descended on the headquarters of France’s BFM TV channel accusing the station of broadcasting “fake news” and calling for the resignation of President Emmanuel Macron.

The demonstrators arrived at the offices in Paris around an hour after the gathering was announced on Facebook. There was already a heavy police presence at the building in the city’s 15th arrondissement when the crowd formed.

One of the protesters told RT France that BFM TV spreads false information about the movement, alleging that the channel purposefully underplays the size of its demonstrations.

AFP is reporting that “several hundred” Yellow Vests gathered outside the headquarters and Police used tear gas grenades on the crowd after the protesters lobbed projectiles in their direction.

The group reportedly chanted “journalists come down”, “fake news” and “Macron out”.

Riot police also fired tear gas during clashes in Rouen in Normandy and in Nantes in western France on Saturday, which is the seventh week of the mass rallies that have divided the country since the movement sprang up in November.

Official turnout numbers have dropped significantly on earlier weeks but organizers say the dip is due to the holiday season. The protesters say the movement will continue to grow in 2019 and plans are underway for New Year’s Eve protests.

The rallies initially began as a demonstration against fuel hikes but have since morphed into a broad rejection of Macron’s policies. On Thursday a group of about 40 Yellow Vests tried to storm the medieval fort of Bregancon that serves as the president’s official summer retreat.

French police have deployed tear gas in a bid to quell Yellow Vest protesters in a tense stand-off in the city of Rouen in Normandy.

Demonstrations quickly spiralled out of control in the northern French city on Saturday as protesters and riot police clashed in the streets of the picturesque town.

Journalist Simon Louvet, who is in Rouen, tweeted: “The GJ (Gilet Jaunes) are in the streets around Jeanne D’Arc Street and are gassed, they flee running and regroup.”are gassed, they flee running and regroup.”

The protesters also set fire to the entrance of the local office of the Bank of France, the country’s central bank.

Away from the violence, a large group of protesters also marched through the streets, waving French flags and chanting slogans.

Paris, the scene of the most dramatic demonstrations since the rallies began in November, was significantly quieter than previous weeks but it also saw dozens of Yellow Vests gathered on Champs-Elysees on Saturday.

On Thursday, a group of the protesters attempted to storm the Mediterranean castle that serves as President Emmanuel Macron’s summer retreat.

The weeks of demonstrations have polarized France. The movement began as rallies against fuel-price hikes, but it soon morphed into nationwide protests against government policies.

The fuel hikes were scrapped by the government but people have continued to demand more concessions, including lower taxes and even Macron’s resignation.

According to reports, Pelosi has been spotted at Hawaii’s Fairmont Orchid resort, where rooms prices start from $899 to $4,899 for the presidential suite.

Democratic operative who bragged about Russian bot ‘false flag’ issues contradiction-filled denial

The Democratic operative who boasted about orchestrating a “false flag” operation that used fake Russian bots to swing a US Senate race has issued a farcical denial in which he backpedals on his own publicly available statements.

Jonathon Morgan, CEO, and co-founder of “Democratic-leaning” private intelligence firm New Knowledge, was reportedly part of a secretive campaign to discredit Republican candidate, Roy Moore, during the Alabama election. According to an internal report obtained by the New York Times, Morgan and his accomplices boasted about how they had “orchestrated an elaborate ‘false flag’ operation that planted the idea that the Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet.” Moore ended up losing the race by a hair to his Democratic opponent Doug Jones – who became the first Democrat in 25 years to serve Alabama in the Senate.

Morgan adamantly denied these accusations in a statement posted on New Knowledge’s blog, insisting that his company used the election to conduct “research” and “did not engage or operate a botnet.” In fact, according to Morgan, New Knowledge believed from the beginning that the “Russian bots” purportedly aligned with Moore were fake. The hundreds of Cyrillic-sporting accounts that followed Moore on Twitter “seemed to us to be the work of internet trolls, not Russian activity,” Morgan wrote. He acknowledged that the media presented the bots as a genuine Russian influence campaign, but asserted that “to this day, we have no idea where these followers came from or what their purpose was.”

Morgan, it appears, felt differently during the actual election. Citing his much-admired “Russian bot” dashboard, Hamilton 68, Morgan tweeted in November 2017 that Moore was conspicuously popular among “Russian trolls.”

In other words: In November 2017 – when Moore and his Democratic opponent were in a bitter fight to win over voters – Morgan openly promoted the theory that Russian bots were supporting Moore’s campaign. A year later – after being caught red-handed orchestrating a self-described “false flag” operation – Morgan now says that his team never thought that the bots were Russian and have no idea what their purpose was. Did he think no one would notice?

Tellingly, Morgan publicized during the election that New Knowledge had invested time and resources into unmasking the owner of a pro-Moore Twitter account. True to form, Morgan suggested that the Twitter user was a Russian bot – an accusation that was found to be baseless after the Daily Beast conducted a thorough investigation into the matter.

This is just one of several painfully apparent inconsistencies with Morgan’s “research” story. He insists that his company’s activities were limited to the creation of a benign Facebook page aimed at Alabama conservatives, which was used to gauge how political audiences responded to “mainstream, moderate” journalism.

None of this adds up. According to the New York Times, which broke the story, Morgan “acknowledged his role in the secret Alabama operation on Facebook and Twitter.” Why is he now denying any role – and why is there no mention of Twitter activities in his statement? Morgan’s obstinate denial insists that he was only involved in setting up a harmless Facebook page.
Morgan ends his statement by declaring that New Knowledge “is in the integrity business.” This is why, as the Times reported, the company “intended to help Mr. Jones and hurt Mr. Moore and that its operators believed it had succeeded in doing so.”

LinkedIn billionaire ‘sorry’ for funding ‘Russian bot’ disinformation campaign against Roy Moore

The co-founder of LinkedIn, Reid Hoffman, has apologized to Republican Roy Moore for funding an organisation that faked a ‘Russian bot’ involvement to mar his election campaign in Alabama.

American Engagement Technologies (AET), which Hoffman gave $750,000 to, put $100,000 of the entrepreneur’s money towards New Knowledge, a cybersecurity firm which fabricated some 1,000 Russian language Twitter accounts to follow Moore.

The company used the tactic to link the controversial Republican to so-called Russian influence campaigns and then fed it to the mainstream media. They also created misleading Facebook pages urging Republicans to support a ‘write-in’ candidate instead of supporting Moore. The ploy was revealed by New York Times earlier this month.

“I find the tactics that have been recently reported highly disturbing,” Hoffman told the Washington Post. “For that reason, I am embarrassed by my failure to track AET — the organization I did support — more diligently as it made its own decisions to perhaps fund projects that I would reject.”

AET is ran by former Barack Obama administration official, Mikey Dickerson, who previously helped the US government with its adoption of new technology.

Last week, Facebook suspended five accounts linked to the operation for “engaging in coordinated inauthentic behavior.”One of the accounts belonged to the CEO of New Knowledge, Jonathon Morgan, who claims he was acting alone as a researcher and not on behalf of the company.

Morgan is also one of the developers of the Hamilton 68 dashboard, a tool that purports to look into ongoing Russian social media operations by monitoring Twitter accounts, the list of which is too secret to be disclosed.

Hamilton 68 has been used by US publication Mother Jones to bolster a December 2017 article titled: ‘Russian Propagandists Are Pushing for Roy Moore to Win.’

Senator Doug Jones, the Democrat who narrowly defeated Moore last May, has called for a federal investigation. A move supported by the chastened Hoffman. “What is obvious now is that we have focused so much on Russia that we haven’t focused on the fact that people in this country could take the same playbook and do the same damn thing,” stated Jones.

VIDEO: Maxine Waters unamused as Trump float passes in Bahamas parade

Donald Trump is living rent-free in Maxine Waters head.

The California congresswoman took a break from demanding the President’s impeachment to sun herself in the Bahamas.

She took in the Boxing Day Junkanoo Parade, according to Twitter user Thomas Wayne, and she looked thoroughly unamused as a float featuring the likeness of Trump passed by.

A participating group, The Valley Boys, had a depiction of Trump on the cover of Forbes magazine, and included a tweet, “I really love the Valley Boys they are the best! Happy 60 years!”

As the participant passed in front of her, Waters shot a icy glance at her husband, who was seated next to her.

Trump is remaining in Washington, D.C. amid the partial government shutdown, as members of Congress left town and Waters went out of the country.

Suspected Bombing In Swedish Town

Swedish police are investigating a Christmas morning explosion at an apartment building in Gislaved as a targeted bombing and attempted murder, according to local media.

Authorities arrived on the scene of a strong blast in the locality of Anderstorp, located roughly 80 miles southeast of Gothenburg, SVT Nyheter reports.

“There are parts of the wall that are clearly damaged, so it was a more powerful detonation,” said police spokesman Thomas Agnevik. “There were people in the house. Exactly how many, I don’t know. I only have information that they should be unharmed.”

Forensics specialists and bomb technicians are investigating the damage and collecting evidence and testimonials from neighbors, but no suspects have been identified.

“The case is classified as attempted murder,” a police report reads. “There is still no suspect. The event is judged to be aimed at a specific person.”

Sweden has seen an escalation in explosions and bombings in recent years.

“Sweden may be known for its popular music, IKEA and a generous welfare state. It is also increasingly associated with a rising number of Islamic State recruits, bombings and hand grenade attacks,” Politico reported in April, 2018.

Weeks ago, Malmö was the scene of multiple explosions in a single night, and in early 2018, the city was rocked by at least five detonations in the span of two weeks.

“I have no regrets, none. The more time goes by, the more certain I feel that I did the right thing in standing up for our community and pointing out our values are not aligned with our laws,” Schaff told BuzzFeed in an interview. “That’s hopefully the message that is sent out.”

…According to ICE, following the mayor’s warning, 150 people were arrested for violating U.S. immigration laws in the San Francisco Bay Area, but nearly 900 illegal immigrants remained “at large in the community” as they couldn’t be arrested.

“What she did is no better than a gang lookout yelling ‘Police!’ when a police cruiser comes in the neighborhood, except she did it to a whole community,” then-acting ICE Director Thomas Homan told “Fox & Friends.”

Not long after Schaaf’s tip, President Trump slammed her as a “disgrace” while noting that 85% them were criminals.

Since then, a father of a teen killed by an illegal immigrant called out Schaff for endangering citizens, while adding that the death of Americans by illegals is “on her and people like her.”

“You know, it was just disgusting,” the father said. “Her job is to protect the citizens, the American citizens, you know. And for her to take a stand like that, she’s allowing Americans to be murdered.”

Here We Go Again: Another Honduran Migrant Caravan Launching in January

According to multiple reports, a new caravan of illegal aliens will leave Honduras at the beginning of 2019 an march towards the southern United States border.

“Another migrant caravan — with estimates of as many as 15,000 participants — is preparing to leave Honduras on January 15, according to migrant rights advocates and Spanish-language media,” the San Diego Union-Tribune said.

The news comes during a heated battle over border security which has forced a partial government shutdown. President Donald J. Trump has refused to reopen the government until Democrats sign off on the dotted line to provide $5 billion for a desperately needed border wall.

According to the report, Irma Garrido, a member of an advocacy group for migrants called Reactiva Tijuana Foundation, said that this caravan expects to pick up far more members en route to the United States than the last one.

“Garrido said this new, larger caravan will likely be joined by more people in El Salvador and in Guatemala, but she said they don’t plan on coming straight to the Tijuana-San Diego border, where resources are already stretched nearly to a breaking point,” according to the report.

Thousands of attempted invaders from the last migrant caravan are still camped out at the border waiting for asylum claims to be processed.

The report also said the Mexico’s new president has promised Central American workers visas and work. Hopefully, they will take him up on this offer.

“Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has pledged visas and work in Mexico for Central American migrants,” the Tribune reported. “In his inauguration speech, he pledged public works projects like planting two million trees and construction of his Maya Train, a 1,500-kilometer railroad.”

There was much commotion about the first migrant caravan that careened toward the border just before the midterm elections in November. The climax of that surge of invaders occurred when 500 or so members of the caravan attempted to storm the border. Many who were caught were deported reportedly from Mexico.

Now would be the perfect time for Trump to build that big, beautiful wall.

Mrs. Pelosi was spotted at The Fairmont Orchid resort, a five-star luxury destination in Hawaii, where rooms range from $1,000 to $5,000 per night, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

The resort features an award-winning ‘Spa without walls,’ a Beach club offering ocean and cultural activities, six restaurants, a children’s program (for Pelosi’s grandkids), and a 10,000 square foot oceanfront pool.

President Donald Trump, however, canceled his trip to Mar-A-Lago, his luxury Palm Beach, Fla. resort amid the ongoing government shutdown.

Mr. Trump told reporters on Christmas Eve at the White House that he was “waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal.”

“I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy!” he tweeted on Christmas Eve, hours before departing the White House for Andrews Air Force Base, where he boarded Air Force One to visit U.S. troops in Iraq and later Germany.

“This isn’t about the Wall, everybody knows that a Wall will work perfectly (In Israel the Wall works 99.9%). This is only about the Dems not letting Donald Trump & the Republicans have a win. They may have the 10 Senate votes, but we have the issue, Border Security. 2020!” Mr. Trump tweeted on Thursday, referring to the 60-vote threshold that must be reached in the Senate to pass legislation.

Republicans currently have a 51-vote majority in the Senate, not enough to pass legislation funding the president’s border wall.

Mrs. Pelosi has spent Christmas in Hawaii in years past, according to a 2011 article by Business Insider, which said that Pelosi previously stayed in a $10,000-per-night suite at the Four Seasons resort in Kona.
