BUZZFEED CEO PANICS: BIG TECH HAVING ‘HUGE PROBLEM CONTROLLING CONTENT’

BuzzFeed CEO Panics: Big Tech Having 'Huge Problem Controlling Content'

Fake news peddler worried the Left losing ability to dominate cultural narrative

 | Infowars.com – MARCH 11, 2019

Tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter are having a “huge problem” controlling content on their platforms, and censoring conservatives isn’t enough, claimed BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti.

“Tech platforms are having a huge problem with the content on their platforms,” Peretti said Friday at SXSW. “They don’t make the content and are having trouble controlling the content.”

Peretti also said that censoring conservatives alone isn’t enough; Big Tech also needs to promote “good content,” ie particular points of view.

“We can’t just police bad content, we have to produce good content,” Peretti said.

A video presentation included in Peretti’s speech showed an image of a garbage can equated with the words “Anti-Vaxxers,” “trolls,” “political extremists,” “flat-Earthers,” “racists,” “misogynists,” and “pedophiles,” as among the issues Big Tech faces.

“They’re trying to get rid of all the bad stuff, and it’s an endless fight to get rid of all the terrible content that’s uploaded to these platforms, and they can never win this fight,” Peretti said.

“There’s a vacuum which is created by a lack of good content and it’s made it difficult for the platforms, and it’s opened up this opportunity for all these other bad actors to upload content.”

The Austin Chronicle’s Austin Sanders agreed with Peretti’s premise, saying that “it’s not just about banning Alex Jones.”

“The point illustrates the challenge facing platforms like Facebook and Twitter: It’s not just about banning Alex Jones, it’s about promoting the media companies that produce quality journalism, so more people are seeing thoroughly verified information,” Sanders wrote Friday.

BuzzFeed recently laid off 15 percent of its workforce over budget issues, which Peretti reportedly badly mishandled.

INSANE VIDEO! Democratic Socialism In AOC’s Own Words: We Don’t Want To Take Over EVERY Form Of Production – We Just Want To Tell Every Workplace How To Operate

by Nan and Byron McKeeby

Screen Shot 2019-02-25 at 4.16.21 PM

Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez retweeted herself again, and this one is for the record books.

Watch as she explains Democratic Socialism. I’ve taken the liberty of transcribing it below for closer examination.

Ocasio-Cortez: Ya know just as there’s all this fear mongering that government is going to take over every corporation and government is going to take over every business or every form of production, um, we should be scared right now because corporations have taken over our government.

And in my opinion, we should be weary of any entity in which both of those things are combined, whether it’s through one way or the other. Um, and that’s why the emphasis in Democratic Socialism is on duhmocracy. And it’s not about, you know, it, it’s, it’s just as much a transformation about bringing duhmocracy to the workplace so that we have a say, and that we don’t check all of our rights at the door every time we cross the threshold into our workplace. Because at the end of the day as workers and as people in society, we’re the ones creating wealth. Not a corporate CEO. It’s not a CEO that’s actually creating four billion dollars a year. It is the millions of workers in this country that’s creating billions of dollars of economic productivity a year. And our system should reflect that.

Let’s deconstruct this–

Right out of the gate, she describes opposition to Democratic Socialism as “fear mongering” and without skipping a beat, tells us “we should be scared right now because corporations have taken over out government.” Who’s the fear monger again?

Like a broken clock, AOC gets something right when she says, “We should be weary of any entity in which both of those things (corporations and government) are combined” but then she pulls an immediate u-turn with this bit of insanity, “it’s just as much a transformation about bringing duhmocracy to the workplace.”

There should be exactly as much “duhmocracy” in the workplace as the owners decide they want/need in order to foster the environment they – as OWNERS OF PRIVATE PROPERTY, GOODS, AND SERVICES – deem necessary to remain profitable. What AOC is describing is literally the very definition of a marriage between the govt and corporations in order to regulate what people can and can’t do with their private property/business/investments. I’m certain there’s a name for that style of government but it escapes me at the moment.

LAST – AOC takes credit for “billions of dollars of economic productivity a year” on behalf of “workers” (as though CEOs don’t work).

She must be unaware that America’s GDP is just a bit higher than that.

That’s okay. She was only off by $20.5 trillion give or take. She’s still learning. Representing is hard.

Black Trans Woman Arrested in NYC Chemical Attack on White Couple…

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police on Saturday arrested a transgender woman they say attacked a white couple in the Bronx and may be behind a series of attacksin upper Manhattan as well.

Investigators say the transgender suspect, who is black, confronted a couple on E. 187th Street near Crotona Avenue in the Bronx. The attacker allegedly approached the couple and asked the woman if she was white before pepper spraying her.

CAP

The couple was too afraid to show their faces on camera, but tearfully described what happened in an exclusive interview with CBS2.

“She pepper sprayed me, I couldn’t see anything,” the woman said. “It really sucked because I knew it was a hate crime.”

The man says he tried to approach the suspect but backed off when she pulled a knife. Moments later, they helped lead police to 37-year-old Thomas Herd, who was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she is set to undergo a mental evaluation before facing charges.

Investigators are now looking into whether Herd is the same person wanted in a string of suspected hate crimes in Manhattan. Multiple people, all of whom are white, were sprayed with an unknown chemical substance near subway stations in Harlem and the Upper West Side around noon on Friday.

Police say the first incident happened on the downtown platform of the 2 and 3 trains at the 125th Street and Lenox Avenue station. The suspect allegedly sprayed five people while walking westbound on 125th Street towards St. Nicholas Avenue, according to police.

Around an hour later, the same person allegedly sprayed a 30-year-old woman while waiting on the subway platform at the 96th Street and Broadway station

“It lights up your whole face on fire,” Joshua Smith, who was sprayed on his way home from a doctors appointment, said. “Your sinuses, your throat feels like it’s closing up. It’s rough.”

Police say the suspect eventually made her way to the Bronx, where she approached a husband and wife and sprayed them with the same unknown substance.

In total, police say 11 white New Yorkers were all attacked over the weekend. Officers are still trying to confirm that Herd is the person they’re searching for in the Friday crime spree.

Earlier this week, the NYPD said overall, crime in the city is down, but in the transit system, it’s up – a 5.6 percent increase this February compared to the same time last year. So far this year, there’s been an average of six crimes a day across the entire transit system.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, on Twitter @NYPDTips or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

CENSORSHIP – FACEBOOK BANS ZERO HEDGE FROM PLATFORM IN CONTINUED PURGE AGAINST REAL NEWS

Facebook Bans Zero Hedge From Platform In Continued Purge Against Real News

Popular guerrilla news outlet marked as ‘spam’ that violates ‘community standards’

Infowars.com – MARCH 11, 2019

Facebook suddenly blocked the sharing of Zero Hedge articles on its platform Monday, claiming the outlet violates its community standards.

When a Zero Hedge article is linked on Facebook, instead of showing the content, a message pops up saying: “the link you tried to visit goes against our community standards.”

CAP

It’s unclear why Facebook decided to mark Zero Hedge as spam, as the platform has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

It’s possible Facebook has simply determined that Zero Hedge must be silenced due to its relentless coverage of Facebook’s many problems, including privacy violations, mass abandonment by younger users, systematic censorship, and shady government cooperation.

The move is nonetheless significant: even Infowars content can still be shared on Facebook despite being banned by nearly all major social media platforms, including Facebook.

NYT RUNS A STORY ABOUT AIPAC ACTIVIST. TURNS OUT, HE’S NOT ASSOCIATED WITH AIPAC, BUT THAT DIDN’T STOP OCASIO-CORTEZ FROM USING IT TO FUNDRAISE

By Molly Prince

CAP

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fundraised off a New York Times story claiming the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) sought to unseat her, but the AIPAC representative cited in the article was not part of the group.

“They are three people who, in my opinion, will not be around in several years,” Stephen Fiske told TheNYT, referring to Ocasio-Cortez and her progressive colleagues, Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.

Fiske, who TheNYT called “a longtime activist” with AIPAC was the keystone of the article, however, he confirmed to The Times of Israel on Friday that he has not been associated with the organization for several years. Rather, he’s the chairman of a pro-Israel PAC that has no affiliation with AIPAC.

Ocasio-Cortez sent out fundraising emails days after TheNYT’s March 4 article was published, claiming “It’s official — AIPAC is coming after Alexandria, Ilhan, and Rashida.”

AIPAC, which is not a political action committee and therefore doesn’t directly fund campaigns, deters donors from taking aim at incumbents in safe districts, such as those of Ocasio-Cortez, Omar and Tlaib, according to The Times of Israel.

The battle against AIPAC was seemingly kicked off in February after Omar quote-tweeted a Haaretz article where House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy threatened punishment against Omar and Tlaib for their anti-Semitic rhetoric. Omar replied that Republicans’ support for Israel is bought by AIPAC, perpetuating an ages-old anti-Semitic trope.

The comments received swift condemnation from Congressional members on both sides of the aisle, including from the Democratic leadership. However, Ocasio-Cortez praised Omarfor what she said “raised the issue of lobbyist [money] in politics.”

(Saul Loeb/AFP/Getty Images)

The freshman congressional trio has been embroiled in allegations of anti-Semitism. Omar and Tlaib have come out in support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which seeks to punish the nation-state of Israel economically for its alleged mistreatment of Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

Ocasio-Cortez has been notably silent on the issue, however, she is part of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which supports the movement. A 2017 video surfaced of DSA voting in favor of BDS while chanting “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” a famous Hamas rallying cry. (RELATED: America’s  First Two Muslim Congresswomen Will Both Be Fundraising For Hamas-Linked Organization)

While Ocasio-Cortez claimed to have Sephardic Jewish ancestry, she has made some eyebrow raising statements about Jews. The self-proclaimed radical compared a migrant caravan trying to enter the United States illegally to Jews fleeing the Holocaust.

She later compared the effects of Democratic President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal to the Holocaust, urging the United States to follow Germany’s example by paying reparations and acknowledge the suffering that occurred during Nazi occupation.

Ocasio-Cortez also received backlash after she expressed gratitude for her correspondence with Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of U.K.’s Labour Party. Corbyn has been plagued with accusations of anti-Semitism and has a long history of condemning Israel while applauding anti-Jewish terrorist organizations.

SOROS-FUNDED MEDIA MATTERS SMEARS TUCKER CARLSON OVER DECADE-OLD SHOCK JOCK RADIO APPEARANCES

Soros-Funded Media Matters Smears Tucker Carlson Over Decade-Old Shock Jock Radio Appearances

Tucker is refusing to apologize

Chris Menahan | Information Liberation – MARCH 11, 2019

Media Matters launched a new smear against Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Sunday compiling a bunch of out-of-context, heavily edited comments/jokes he made over a decade ago while on shock jock radio with Bubba the Love Sponge.

You can see Media Matters’ manipulative edited video on YouTube if you’re so inclined.

Tucker is refusing to apologize:

CAP

Carlson was employed by MSNBC at the time and it caused no controversy.

Bill Maher made similar comments in the past and was defended by the left:

Does anyone believe for a second these leftists give a s*** what Tucker Carlson said on shock jock radio with Bubba the Love Sponge so many years ago?

They want to take him down because he represents a threat to the establishment.

They don’t like the fact he stands up against the US war machine and speaks out against mass immigration.

They don’t like the fact he gives honest leftists like Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang a platform on national television.

That’s why some loser went through potentially hundreds of these old interviews and listened to them in their entirety just find some comments/jokes they could take out of context to attack him over.

CAP

They’re trying to destroy this man because of the threat he represents to the establishment and their billionaire globalist bosses. They can’t argue in favor of prog-globalism and defend brainwashing kids with transgender propaganda so they just dig up old comments they can misconstrue and take out of context.

CAP

A search of their archives shows they defended Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s defense of infanticide and didn’t even write about his blackface-KKK controversy (other than to attack one Fox News employee for suggesting Northam should “dig in” and not resign [which was also taken totally out of context]).

These dishonest hacks don’t give a damn about anything other than helping their globalist masters seize power.

Kudos to Tucker Carlson for refusing to issue a groveling apology and instead standing strong in the face of these dishonest smears.

Gillibrand Kept Aide Despite Multiple Claims of Sexual Misconduct

Despite her #MeToo rhetoric, the Senator took no action when her office had a genuine #MeToo situation.

By

A U.S. Senator and 2020 presidential hopeful kept an aide on her staff despite multiple accusations of sexual harassment, according to several Monday report.

“The military adviser to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, a 2020 presidential candidate who has been an outspoken supporter of the #MeToo movement and a campaigner against sexual misconduct in the military, kept his job despite allegations he sexually harassed a junior female aide,” according to Washington Examiner.

The female aide and alleged victim of the misconduct resigned in protest over the way Gillibrand handled her complaints. She is described as mid-20’s, married and apparently Gillibrand officiated her wedding.

The military advisor, who has now been terminated, is Abbas Malik. He was only fired after media inquiries into his alleged misconduct.

“The woman has accused Gillibrand of hypocrisy in protecting a powerful male staff member and abandoning a junior female staffer — a sharp contrast with her political rhetoric on sexual misconduct,” according to the report.

Malik allegedly made “a string of unwelcome advances” and sexually explicit remarks. He reportedly said that the young female aide “couldn’t get laid unless she was raped.”

Despite the aides reports, Malik kept his job.

Gillibrand released a statement to The Examiner:

“These are challenges that affect all of our nation’s workplaces, including mine, and the question is whether or not they are taken seriously.

As I have long said, when allegations are made in the workplace, we must believe women so that serious investigations can actually take place, we can learn the facts, and there can be appropriate accountability. That’s exactly what happened at every step of this case last year. I told her that we loved her at the time and the same is true today.”

The accuser wrote a letter to Gillibrand, which was subsequently published in Politico:

“I have offered my resignation because of how poorly the investigation and post-investigation was handled.

I trusted and leaned on this statement that you made: ‘You need to draw a line in the sand and say none of it is O.K. None of it is acceptable.’ Your office chose to go against your public belief that women shouldn’t accept sexual harassment in any form and portrayed my experience as a misinterpretation instead of what it actually was: harassment and ultimately, intimidation.”

WATCH: Dem Presidential Candidate Julián Castro Favors ‘Reparations’ For Slavery, Though He’s Unsure How To Go About It

By FRANK CAMP

Julian Castro, former secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), listens as a volunteer speaks at the 'Navigating Recovery of the Lakes Region' organization in Laconia, New Hampshire, U.S., on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019.

On Sunday, democratic presidential candidate Julián Castro appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper.

During the segment, Tapper spoke with Castro about the issue of reparations for descendants of slavery: “This is also dividing Democrats on the trail. You’ve said that there needs to be some kind of reparations to descendants of slaves to compensate for years of slavery and discrimination against African Americans in this country.”

Tapper then played a clip in which presidential rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) talks about Castro’s and Sen. Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) support for reparations:

What do they mean? I’m not sure anyone’s very clear. What I just said is that I think we must do everything that we can to address the massive level of disparity that exists in this country.

Tapper asked Castro: “So, what do you mean? Do you think that there should be actual monetary payments to descendants of slaves? Do support more like what Senator Sanders is talking about, policies such as child care and education that help those who are disadvantaged?”

Castro replied:

Well, you know, what I said was that I’ve long believed that this country should address slavery, the original sin of slavery, including by looking at reparations, and if I’m president, then I’m going to appoint a commission or task force to determine the best way to do that. There’s a tremendous amount of disagreement on how we would do that.

Castro then took a jab at Sanders, saying that he shouldn’t be arguing against an approach to reparations that might include “writing a big check” because that’s been the senator from Vermont’s position on health care and college tuition.

He concluded: “So, if under the Constitution, we compensate people because we take their property, why wouldn’t you compensate people who actually were property?”

The notion of somehow compensating the ancestors of American slaves has long been a topic of discussion among academics and political thinkers. However, the mechanics by which a reparations program would operate have challenged even the most diligent.

On an episode of “Point Taken” on PBS regarding reparations, libertarian commentator Kmele Foster stated bluntly: “I think the important things to consider are, who pays? How much do they pay? And who do they pay it to? These are impossibly difficult questions to actually reconcile and answer in a meaningful and just way.”

Even progressive author Ta-Nehisi Coates, in his 2014 thesis on “the case for reparations” published in The Atlantic, didn’t come to any conclusion as to how reparations should work, writing in part:

Perhaps no number can fully capture the multi-century plunder of black people in America. Perhaps the number is so large that it can’t be imagined, let alone calculated and dispensed. But I believe that wrestling publicly with these questions matters as much as—if not more than—the specific answers that might be produced. An America that asks what it owes its most vulnerable citizens is improved and humane. An America that looks away is ignoring not just the sins of the past but the sins of the present and the certain sins of the future. More important than any single check cut to any African American, the payment of reparations would represent America’s maturation out of the childhood myth of its innocence into a wisdom worthy of its founders.

Coates does refer to a bill from former Rep. John Conyers as the beginning of a potential solution: “A country curious about how reparations might actually work has an easy solution in [John] Conyers’s bill, now called HR 40, the Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African Americans Act. We would support this bill, submit the question to study, and then assess the possible solutions.”

Former President Obama even commented on the non-feasibility of a reparations program:

As a practical matter, it is hard to think of any society in human history in which a majority population has said that as a consequence of historic wrongs, we are now going to take a big chunk of the nation’s resources over a long period of time to make that right.

Instead, Obama pointed toward progressive redistributionist programs as a means of reparations:

[I am] not so optimistic as to think you would ever be able to garner a majority of the American Congress that would make those kinds of investments above and beyond the kind of investments that could be made in a progressive program for lifting up all people.

As the Democratic presidential candidates gear up for a contentious primary season, they should be prepared to answer questions about reparations. With Julián Castro, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren already promoting the issue, it’s unlikely that it will fade silently into the night.
