During a statement on Saturday, President Trump proposed funding for humanitarian assistance and drug detection technology, increases in Border Patrol agents and immigration judges, changes to the asylum application process for minors, promotion of family reunification, $5.7 billion in border wall funding, and protections for DACA recipients and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders.

Trump said, “Our plan includes the following: $800 million in urgent humanitarian assistance, $805 million for drug detection technology to help secure our ports of entry, an additional 2,750 border agents and law enforcement professionals, 75 new immigration judge teams…a new system to allow Central American minors to apply for asylum in their home countries and reform to promote family reunification for unaccompanied children, thousands of whom wind up on our border doorstep. To physically secure our border, the plan includes $5.7 billion for a strategic deployment of physical barriers, or a wall. This is not a 2,000-mile concrete structure from sea to sea. These are steel barriers in high priority locations.”

He added that the plan includes “3 years of legislative relief” for DACA recipients, which will “give them access to work permits, Social Security numbers, and protection from deportation,” and 3 years of TPS extension.

Seven House ‘Republicans’ Vote for Nancy’s Plan to Reopen Government Without Wall Funding

By

Seven House Republicans voted with the new Democratic majority today to reopen the government without a paltry $5 billion in funding to start construction on a ‘big, beautiful’ border wall, in the midst of the ongoing battle between the White House and Democratic leaders.

Most Republican members of Congress stood firm on refusing to reopen the government without progress on Donald Trump’s signature campaign progress. The outgoing GOP House Majority had earlier designated around $5.7 billion dollars for the wall, placing the ball in the court of the Senate to get together and make a deal that would re-open the government. Nearly all Republicans have stood with the President in order to present a unified face in the struggle to finally safeguard the borders of the United States with a wall, but the seven dissenters in the House Republican Caucus today could pose a threat to the prospects of the President delivering on his promises.

The seven Republicans caving to the left on immigration were:

Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
Will Hurd of Texas
John Katko of New York
Peter King of New York
Elise Stefanik of New York
Fred Upton of Michigan
Greg Walden of Oregon

The six-bill funding package reopens many elements of the United States government, such as the State and Justice Departments, in addition to the IRS and National Zoo.

The battle to deliver on the border security promised to the American people time and time again continues on. National Border Patrol Council leaders spoke at the White House Press Conference today, making the case for the necessity of the wall Senate Democrats refuse to compromise on very clear.

Alyssa Milano mocks amputee veteran’s massive border wall crowdfunding, gets Twitter-flogged

Actress Alyssa Milano waded out of her depth as she slammed the border wall crowdfunding, implying the money should instead go to veterans. She was instantly reminded the campaign was started by a triple amputee vet.

The actress-turned-Democratic firebrand was left red-faced as after she took aim at the crowdfunding campaign to build a border wall between the US and Mexico, now at over $13mn. In a tweet on Thursday, Milano wrote: “Oh, yes! Let’s #GoFundTheWall while not taking care of our veterans. Cool. Cool. Cool.”

It was not long before the tweet ignited a firestorm on Twitter, as many noticed Milano hand’t done her homework, as the GoFundMe page was started by Air Force veteran Brian Kolfage, a Purple Heart recipient, who lost three limbs in a rocket attack in Iraq.

The campaign, with a designated goal of $1bn, started less than a week ago and has already shot up to be one of the five top GoFundMe campaigns ever.

Milano’s fellow Hollywood celebrity and outspoken conservative James Woods led the backlash against her, pointing out who started the fund.

Many actual veterans chimed in, tweeting at Milano that they have backed the crowdfunding campaign, while others accused her of preying on the cause she did not seem to care about before.

“Bring Vets up when it’s convenient for you. Any other day you could care less,” one Guser wrote.

People argued that building the wall and helping veterans are not incompatible tasks and can both be done at the same time.

Milano, one of the most prominent #MeToo movement stars, has been rallying behind virtually every anti-Trump and pro-Democratic cause, often using her Twitter with its 3.48 million followers to spew vitriol at Trump, calling him a “piece of sh*t” and “evil creature” for the treatment of caravan migrants at the US-Mexican border in November.

However, just like this time, back then Milano was accused of hypocrisy and poor research. She was reminded that border agents used the exact same means – pepper spray – to repel rock-throwing migrants at the border when Obama was in office.

San Francisco Judge Blocks Asylum Ban For Aliens Who Cross Border Illegally…

Late last night another activist judge, U.S. District Judge Jon Steven Tigar in San Francisco (Obama appointee), issued a temporary restraining orderagainst the Trump administration’s modified emergency asylum policy which barred asylum for aliens who enter the country illegally.

[Read Court Ruling HERE] Setting up, yet again, another likely higher court appeal/decision.

While a challenge was predictable, frustrating and likely to be spun up by media, the ruling only applies to aliens who gain illegal entry and request asylum.

Nothing in the ruling stops the hardened border enforcement and/or current expedited review and deportation program. In essence, keep the illegal aliens out and the judicial ruling is moot (until defeated in higher courts).

Though it might frustrate the left-wing media and the open borders crowd, no court can successfully demand the President of the United States to stop border enforcement.  This is why it is critical to have a strong DHS Secretary focused on stopping illegal entry.

This ruling will obviously be appealed by the DOJ; and politically the Democrats realize, in the bigger picture, this ‘open-border’ narrative is not good for them.  On its face this ruling is ridiculous as it eliminates/undermines the legal process for asylum requests by removing the distinction of illegal or unlawful conduct in the application process.

Election Day’s Top Trending Google Search: ‘Where to Vote’ in Spanish

According to experts, Trump's repeated insults and bullying haven't had the effect of pushing Latinos toward the Democrat party -- rather they have driven them from voting at all

By Tom Ciccotta

According to a report from The Hill, the top trending Google search on election day was “Dónde votar,” Spanish for “where to vote.” According to Google, the search term increased 3,350 percent today.

Google searches for “Dónde votar” spiked 3,350 percent today, as polling locations around the country opened their doors for midterm election voting. “Dónde votar,” which literately translates to “where to vote,” primarily saw an increase in searches on Monday afternoon, as voters began to prepare plans to get to the polls.

trend graph for the search term shows that it spiked in traffic throughout Monday but fell flat by Tuesday morning. Despite the drastic spike in search entries for the Spanish phrase, the phrase was searched significantly less on Monday than its English counterpart, “where to vote.”

According to the report, the search spike coincides with historic highs in voter enthusiasm amongst Latinos. The report argues that certain hot-button issues like immigration have increased Hispanic interest in voting in this midterm election cycle.

The report also claims that Hispanic voters will play a crucial role in states like Florida, where Democrat Andrew Gillum is facing Republican Ron DeSantis in a contested gubernatorial contest.

First Migrant Caravan Reaches Mexico City

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – The first Central American migrants from a caravan traveling through Mexico toward the United States in hopes of seeking asylum arrived in Mexico City on Sunday, taking up temporary shelter at a sports stadium.

More than 1,000 Central Americans, many fleeing gang violence and financial hardship in their home countries, bedded down at the stadium where the city government set up medical aid and food kitchens.

Ahead of U.S. congressional elections this Tuesday, President Donald Trump has warned repeatedly about the advance of the caravan and ordered thousands of troops to the Mexican border, where units strung up razor wire this weekend.

The migrants arrived in the capital, nearly 500 miles (805 kilometers) from the closest border crossings in Texas, four weeks after setting out from the Honduran city of San Pedro Sula.

“Our heads are set at getting to the United States, to fulfill the American dream,” said Mauricio Mancilla, who traveled with his six-year old son from San Pedro Sula. “We have faith in God that we will do this, whatever the circumstances.”

Thousands more Central Americans were moving in groups in the Gulf state of Veracruz, the central state of Puebla and in the southern state of Chiapas, local media reported.

“This is an exodus,” Alejandro Solalinde, a Catholic priest and migrant rights activist, told reporters. “It’s without precedent.”

The U.S. government has pressured Mexico to halt the advance of the migrants and President Enrique Pena Nieto has offered temporary identification papers and jobs if they register for asylum in the southern states of Chiapas and Oaxaca.

Mexico’s government said on Saturday it was processing nearly 2,800 asylum requests and that around 1,100 Central Americans had been deported.

At the capital’s famed shrine to the Virgin of Guadalupe, a group of Mexican volunteers called out on bullhorns, offering bus rides to migrants to the stadium.

Cesar Gomez, a 20-year old Guatemalan, said he jumped at joining the caravan to avoid the dangers of traveling alone and paying thousands of dollars to human smugglers.

“This was a good opportunity,” he said as he waited for a ride. “The first thing is to try for the United States. If not, maybe I will stay here.”

Media-Approved Election Meddling: ‘Immigrants Who Can’t Vote Work to Influence Midterm Elections’

By Chris Menahan

Foreigners meddling in our elections is A-OK as long as they’re working for Democrats!

From the Miami Herald, “These immigrants can’t vote. So they’re working hard to influence those who can”:

On Sept. 5 2017, the Trump administration announced the end of a program that protects undocumented immigrants who arrived as children, known as DACA and started by the Obama administration in 2012.

That date was crucial for Maria, a domestic worker and native of Argentina who lives in Miami-Dade and has two children, 21 and 23 years old, who are among the 800,000 beneficiaries of DACA.

“That Sept. 5 I said, ‘I have to do something. I have to contribute my two cents for the change I want to see,” said Maria, who asked to be identified only by her first name because she’s undocumented. “There’s a big risk for us. The risk of losing my children’s education, the house, everything we have built here.”

That’s how Maria, who arrived on a tourist visa in 2000 and overstayed it to settle in Miami because of an economic crisis in Argentina, wound up working to turn out the vote in the midterm elections.

Have you ever heard a more roundabout way of saying she’s an illegal immigrant?

We let her in on a tourist visa and she abused our generosity and is now working to sabotage the country on behalf of a foreign power.

Maria cannot vote, but has knocked on dozens of doors around Miami to urge those who can to vote.

She’s part of a growing number of people who cannot vote because they are undocumented or green card holders but are hitting the streets to urge voters to cast their ballots.

Their goal is to persuade voters to support candidates who promise to protect immigrants, because they understand that their future in this country is at risk and depends on those votes. Although President Donald Trump is not on the ballot, they are working to turn the midterm elections into a referendum on presidential policies and rhetoric they view as anti-immigrant.

This is blatant election meddling on behalf of foreign powers seeking to open our borders, flood us with new Democrats and redistribute our wealth into their pockets.

While the media hyperventilated for two years straight over Russians allegedly sharing some memes and buying some social media ads, they fully support the SEIU paying foreigners to meddle in our election on behalf of the Democrats and hail it as “progressive.”
