Migrant arrested for planning to poison Italian public water supply

A Palestinian migrant was arrested on Wednesday morning for planning to poison a public water supply.
The man, who has an Italian residency permit, was captured in the city of Macomer.
A Palestinian national, the 38-year-old suspect was arrested by the Italian police in the Sardinian town under suspicion of planning to poison the island’s public drinking water supply.
He had been under surveillance for a lengthy period of time until the police moved in to arrest him on Wednesday.
The town, with a population of 10,000, was on lock down by the security services and they swiftly arrested the suspect as he left his home.
A judge granted security forces permission to immediately undertake the urgent operation due to the severity of the risk.

A 70-year-old woman in Sweden was interrogated by police and later convicted for an anti-Muslim Facebook post in which she expressed fear that Islam was taking over the country.
The post, made in May 2018 on the Facebook group Stand Up For Sweden, appeared as a comment underneath an article about violence towards women.
“Is this not Sweden or have we turned over the country to some Muslim damned vermin?,” the woman wrote.
The post was flagged by taxpayer funded hate speech watchdog group Näthats-inspector and the woman was subsequently interrogated by police in Hudiksvall.
She admitted that she could have framed the post better but asserted that she was merely upset after reading material about the mistreatment of women in Islamic countries.
“I am against the fact that they are bad to women. We have so many Muslims coming. I must have meant that they are battering women. I’m afraid of that,” she told police, adding that she had been “provoked” by news headlines about the issue.
The woman as later convicted and ordered to pay 40 daily fines of 120 kronor.
The judge in the case said that the Facebook post was more of an assertion than a question and therefore violated Sweden’s hate speech laws.
Similar laws that would officially make “Islamophobia” a racist hate crime are now being discussed in the United Kingdom.
Earlier this year, a 65-year-old woman in Sweden who was previously the victim of a brutal beating by migrants was sentenced to prison for posting that “the IQ level in Sweden will fall as a result of immigration.”
In another case, a 32-year-old woman from Gothernburg was interrogated by police, had her DNA taken and was subsequently imprisoned for the “crime” of sharing a joke meme about Islam on Facebook.
Last year, a 70-year-old Swedish woman was prosecuted for hate speech for saying she saw migrants setting fire to cars, something that happens all the time in Sweden.
Also last year, Sweden put YouTube star PewDiePie, their biggest export since Abba and Ikea furniture, on an official hate list.
1,400 ‘No-Go’ Zones For UK Ambulances, Attacks on EMTs Skyrocket

Over 1,400 locations across England have been red-flagged as ‘no-go’ zones for ambulances without police escort, as the rate of violent attacks on paramedics has risen to a staggering eight per day, according to UK media.
More than 2,800 emergency medical personnel were attacked while on duty in 2017, up 36 percent in the last five years, latest data reveals.
“Paramedics are being stabbed, throttled, and sexually assaulted as shameful new figures show assaults on crew members have risen by a third,” the Mirror reports.
“About eight serious attacks a day take place on NHS ambulance crews and more than 1,400 homes in England are now red-flagged as ‘no-go’ areas without police protection.”
A list of injuries suffered by paramedics in London includes dislocations, fractures, asphyxiation, severe burns, concussions, and even spinal cord damage.
Union leaders are blaming politicians for cutbacks in funding, leading to a severe shortage of personnel, as well as police support.
“These terrifying figures underline that ambulance workers, along with all those who work in the emergency services, are forced to work under an increased threat of violence,” said GMB union national secretary Rehana Azam.
“Cuts in funding mean our ambulance workers are more likely to be working alone. Cuts to police services mean back-up isn’t always there.”
Incredibly, the vast majority of perpetrators reportedly do not face legal consequences for assaults upon EMTs.
The crisis facing British emergency services highlights the effects mass immigration can have upon safety, security, and infrastructure as crime continues to rise while the government’s capacity to properly enforce the law and tend to the needs of its citizens diminishes.
Illegal migrants in Europe ‘need to go home’ – Czech PM

The Czech prime minister has called for the return to their home countries of hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants currently in Europe, suggesting funds could be spent on a Marshall Plan to help improve African economies.
“There are 700,000 illegal migrants,” Andrej Babis said in an interview with The Guardian newspaper. “They need to go home.”
Babis has long railed against the implementation of EU-imposed migrant quotas, along with the leaders of neighboring Slovakia, Hungary and Poland – collectively known as the Visegrad Group. He has previously labeled the quotas “absurd” and “not effective.”
At the height of the migrant crisis in 2015, approximately two million non-EU citizens were believed to be present in member states. While many of these were refugees fleeing Syria’s devastating civil war, thousands also made the journey as economic migrants from Africa.
While the number of these illegals has now fallen to 618,780, according to 2017 statistics from Eurostat, Babis believes both economic migrants and refugees should return home.
These people should stay home and we should help them in Africa. The people around Syria… they would like to return home.
Rather than an expanded budget for the EU’s border agency Frontex, Babis thinks national governments should instead protect their own borders and coastlines.
“Smugglers made €5.7 billion in 2016 and we have to stop it,” he said.

Babis, along with Hungary’s Victor Orban, has been skeptical of an expanded Frontex, believing it to be a power grab by Brussels to take border control away from states on the bloc’s frontier.
Instead, Babis suggests that the EU should make funds available to help develop African countries like the Marshall Plan, the US aid initiative that helped rebuild Western Europe after World War Two.
This, Babis believes, would help convince potential migrants to stay in their own countries.
“They have their culture, we have our culture,” he said. “They have their values, but we want to keep [our] values.”
Blackface only for liberals? NBC cancels Megyn Kelly’s show amid uproar about double standards
NBC’s ‘Today’ show with Megyn Kelly is on the way out, making her departure from the network official. But the reason for her exit – comments she made about ‘blackface’ costumes – has come under scrutiny.
NBC has said it is canceling ‘Megyn Kelly Today’ and will replace her show with ‘Today’ anchors.
The ‘Today’ show – which Kelly co-hosts – disclosed on Friday that their soon-to-be ex-colleague “is in talks with the network about her imminent departure.”
Today show correspondent Morgan Radford stressed that the “exact details” of the negotiations remain unclear. Kelly was more than a year into a three-year, $69 million contract with NBC.
Her departure comes just days after the host made what many described as insensitive and racist comments about ‘blackface’.
“You truly do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween,” she said during her show on Tuesday. She added that when she was growing up, wearing blackface was acceptable “as long as you were dressing like a character.”
Kelly apologized for the comment in a letter to NBC staff, and made an on-air apology on Wednesday at the start of her program. She did not appear on air on Thursday – sparking reports that she was already on her way out at the network. Kelly has apparently also fired her talent agency, ACA, and hired a powerful Hollywood litigator to help her with negotiating her exit.
But some have pointed out that other well-known television personalities have done far worse than Kelly – and have seen their careers blossom, as opposed to getting the boot. A friendly reminder from the Daily Caller reveals that Kelly’s alleged misdeed is small potatoes compared to the antics of other celebrities – who have actually donned blackface.
Jimmy Kimmel, who hosts a popular late-night talk show broadcast on ABC, once did a skit on his now-defunct comedy program, “The Man Show,” in which he portrayed former Utah Jazz basketball star Karl Malone. Kimmel wasn’t just in blackface – his entire body had been painted black.
Comedian Sarah Silverman donned blackface in a comedy sketch from 2007, and television host Jimmy Fallon once portrayed Chris Rock in a Saturday Night Live skit from 2000 – wearing blackface, of course.
While these stunts received their fair share of criticism, all three of the liberal-minded celebrities have become common fixtures on American television. Kelly – despised by American liberals as a Fox News turncoat – was apparently not afforded the same wide berth.
Kelly’s imminent exit also coincides with a bizarre segment on Dr. Phil – which was apparently allowed to air because it has ‘entertainment value.’
Kelly herself reportedly believes that her coverage of #MeToo controversies, including those involving NBC stars like Matt Lauer and Tom Brokaw, may be the real reason that she is being forced out of the network. Her lawyer has reportedly asked that Ronan Farrow, who left NBC News last year after the network refused to run his story on Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual misconduct, to attend Kelly’s exit negotiations.

The Italian police have arrested a third suspect in a case that shocked the country. As we reported earlier, the body of the 16-year-old Desiree Mariottini was found in an abandoned building in Rome on Saturday.
Two Senegalese nationals were already arrested last night: Mamadou Gara, 26, and Brian Minteh, 43. Today a third suspect was arrested as well. The 40-year-old man comes from Nigeria, details on his name were not given.
The men face charges of sexual group violence, selling drugs and voluntary manslaughter. Police try to track down at least one other suspect who likely was present during the gang rape of the girl, as well.
“Now I want justice for Desiree. I don’t want this tragedy to happen to other girls,” the victim’s mother, Barbara Mariottini said.
The Mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, has announced a day of mourning for the city to coincide with Mariottini’s funeral.
Two Italian Ministers said today that the powers of the mayor should be increased as result of the case. “It’s time to give more powers to the mayor of Rome,” Deputy Prime Minister and Labour and Industry Minister Di Maio said.
Interior Minister Salvini, who agrees with his counterpart said earlier that he would return with a bulldozer to the area:
“I’ll come back to meet residents. As minister, I commit to cleaning up and come back with a bulldozer. There are buildings in Rome in this state with criminals who defend illegal occupations and drug dealing”.
“I have asked the State prosecutor to use a fist of iron…”I hope these beasts are soon caught,” he added.
This isn’t the first migrant murder in Italy. At the start of the year, the 18-year-old Pamela Mastropietro was murdered in Macerata.
Her body was found severely mutilated, hidden in two suitcases. Young Nigerian immigrant Innocent Oseghale was jailed for her murder.
