Both the CBS News host and NYT reporter Cecilia Kang said the US should look to countries like Australia, New Zealand, Germany and India — which do not have free speech — as models for suppressing free speech on the internet.

Here’s the full segment:
As I reported in November 2018, the New York Times editorial board wrote a propaganda piece comparing right-wingers to jihadists and demanded authoritarian censorship of the internet to stop the spread of “toxic ideas.”

The New York Times last year hired virulent anti-white racist Sarah Jeong in August 2018 as their lead technology writer and made her a member of their editorial board.

CAP
Jeong’s Twitter feed featured her attacking “dumbass f**king white people” for “marking up the internet with their opinions like dogs pissing on fire hydrants.”

She also said she gets a sick “joy” out of “being cruel to old white men” and wondered if white people’s light skin is a sign they’re “only fit to live underground like groveling goblins.”

The New York Times said they were aware of her anti-white tweets when they hired her and argued her tweets were justified because some trolls called her mean names on the internet.

While journos love to act as though they’re crusaders for free speech and a free press, as we saw over the weekend during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, they’re actually the biggest crusaders against free speech and the free press in America and throughout the West.

Chicago Newspaper Uses Antifa-Linked Sources – Portrays Crooked State’s Attorney Kim Foxx As “Victim”

The Chicago Sun-Times published a story on April 27th attacking the Proud Boys, a far-right men’s group led by a person of color, in a desperate attempt to conflate the group with actual racists who showed up to protest crooked State’s Attorney Kim Foxx for her handling of the Jussie Smollett hate-hoax.

Writers Tom Schuba and Matthew Hendrickson authored the write-up, which relied on sourcing from several individuals with ties to alt-left groups like Antifa. In it, they paint the Proud Boys in the same light as actual confirmed racist groups like Identity Evropa. They cite a random Twitter account, Panic! at the discord, which is known to doxx alleged racists on Twitter, a practice that is against the platforms terms and services.

Throughout the propaganda piece, the duo claim that the Proud Boys are basically indistinguishable from dangerous racist groups, but fail to recognize that the group is led by an Afro-Cuban entrepreneur and populated with a large share of minorities in their ranks. This is a tired game that mainstream media hacks like Shuba and Hendrickson play, where anyone who doesn’t adopt the Antifa world-view is somehow a “Nazi” or “evil racist.”

The protest documented in the article from the Chicago Sun-Times follows the police union organized demonstration against Kim Foxx, who famously dropped over a dozen charges against washed up Empire actor Jussie Smollett related to his faking of a hate crime against himself several months ago. The protest was attended by a wide-variety of groups, including the Proud Boys. The entire article’s intended purpose seems to paint the majority of people protesting Ms. Foxx as racists, therefore lending her victim status with an extended on-the-record quote from the corrupt State’s Attorney.

While Shuba and Hendrickson go to great lengths to condition readers into believing that the Proud Boys are “just like” actual suspected racists who showed at the event, their thesis is incredibly thin and littered with so-called evidence from disgraced organizations like the SPLC. The SPLC has been exposed by former high-level employees who document how the organization maintains a racist work environment, all the while labeling anyone to the right of Karl Marx as “racist” or “extremist.”

They even printed an unverified quote from cop-hating alt-left political activist Tom Rainey, detailing a supposed encounter he had with a member of the Proud Boys. They did so describing Rainey as an anti-fascist activist who was allegedly swatted at by a member of the Proud Boys, yet fail to disclose Rainey’s history of assaulting police officers during a violent anti-cop demonstration in 2017. Mr. Rainey, like the Antifa linked Twitter account used for source material in the Chicago Sun-Times article, has been known to associate with dangerous alt-left groups in the Chicago-area.

Both Shuba and Hendrickson refused to respond to a series of questions about their alleged associations with radical alt-left groups, failing to deny on record any affiliations or relationships they may have with organizations like Antifa. They also failed to respond to a questions about their “off-the-clock” relationships with violent anti-cop activist Tom Rainey.

Similarly, their editors failed to explain why the Chicago Sun-Times has deemed an Antifa linked Twitter account, the SPLC and Mr. Rainey as credible sources. The writers and editors refused to explain why they spent such a great deal of time attacking the Proud Boys, and more importantly, why they failed to disclose that the group is led by a person of color and count a significant amount of minorities in their membership.

Antifa was exposed yesterday for allegedly conspiring with Mexican drug cartels to traffic firearms across the border in an attempt to foment a violent insurrection in response to President Trump’s hard-line immigration policies.

Local news coverage of the write-up feature a photo of Proud Boys with the fear-mongering headline “White Nationalists Target Chicago,” with Schuba again failing to disclose that the Proud Boys are led by a person of color and have a history of standing against actual racism during his appearance on Chicago’s WCIU.

Tarrio pointed to a recent interaction members of the Florida chapter of the group had with Whoopi Goldberg, where they exchanged in a peaceful dialogue outside her Sarasota, FL event, which he says shows how his group and members of the MAGA movement are able to engage in peaceful dialogue with political opponents instead of resorting to violence like Chicago Sun-Times source Tom Rainey.

“We do not stand for racism of any kind. We love the hell out of America and what it means to be an American. Defending western values is our top priority. Socially awkward soyboys like Shuba and Hendrickson have to hide behind their roles as journalists in attempt to avoid responsibility for their lies. When these types of people are confronted in person or in the court through legal means, it’s amazing how cowardly they become.”

At the time of publishing, the Chicago Sun-Times has failed to respond to multiple requests for comment.

PROF ON FREE SPEECH ‘SH*TLORDS’: ‘FIRE THEM’ AND ‘HOUND THEM FROM RESTAURANTS’

Prof on free speech 'sh*tlords': 'Fire them' and 'hound them from restaurants'

“Fire them from their jobs. Hound them from restaurants”

Campus Reform – APRIL 30, 2019

A professor claimed Sunday that “vile little sh*tlords” who belong to free speech-themed clubs on campus should lose their jobs and be chased out of restaurants.

University of New Brunswick professor Matthew Sears made the assertion on Twitter in response to the San Diego synagogue shooting Saturday.

“We should name every white supremacist,” Sears said. “Name every writer, blogger, YouTuber, and politician that inspires them. Plaster their faces in public. Fire them from their jobs. Hound them from restaurants. Expose them and those that fuel them for the hateful pathetic wretches they are.”

The professor lumped campus free speech activists into this group in a subsequent tweet.

“And that includes every vile little shitlord in a campus ‘free speech’ club who spends his time platforming white supremacist trolls under the banner of ‘free speech,’ and every grifting liar that goes on about campus ‘censorship’ and the ‘marketplace of ideas,’” Sears stated.

When lawyer Robert Barnes shared this latter tweet with his own followers, appearing to disagree with the professor’s opinion, Sears said “there’s a difference between free speech, and those who use ‘free speech’ as a deliberate strategy to put hateful and discredited ideas into the mainstream and give them academic credibility. But you know that, you liar.”

The professor told Campus Reform that, when he speaks of campus free speech activists, he means merely those who “invite bigoted provocateurs like Richard Spencer and Milo Yannopoulos,” but Sears has previously advocated for the harassment of a far more mainstream and high-profile figure.

After U.S. Press Secretary Sarah Sanders got kicked out of a restaurant in June, the professor tweeted “forget ‘respectability politics,’ forget the ‘politics of division,’ forget ‘civility.’ Let’s denormalize these folks and their ideas every single chance we get, including throwing them the hell out of restaurants. Like we should have done *from the very beginning*.”

Sears also suggested in April 2018 that a “Make America Great Again” hat was “the functional equivalent of a [Ku Klux] Klan hood or Nazi banner.”

“I suppose I reject the notion that civility is the ultimate goal, especially in the face of what are some pretty outrageous human rights abuses, such as what we see along the US-Mexico border,” Sears said, when Campus Reformasked about his Sanders tweet. “If someone like Sanders provides cover and routinely lies for someone like Trump, even if he is the most powerful person on earth, I fail to see how mouthing off to them in restaurants is beyond the pale. Yes, this could go both ways. But appeals to civility often only manage to maintain the status quo, and benefit those in power.”

Campus Reform reached out to UNB for comment but received none in time for publication.

FORMER CIA OFFICER WARNS LEFTIST VIOLENCE IS GOING TO GET “VERY VERY BAD” OVER THE NEXT 2 YEARS

Former CIA Officer Warns Leftist Violence is Going to Get "Very Very Bad" Over the Next 2 Years

“There are going to be beatings and probably shootings, and shooting at police”

 | Infowars.com – APRIL 29, 2019

Former CIA officer Kevin Shipp warns that leftist violence is going to get “very very bad” over the next two years in response to President Trump indicting the plotters who tried to remove him from office.

During an interview with USA Watchdog’s Greg Hunter, Shipp, a former manager of high risk Counter Terrorism Center protective operations with the CIA, predicted that there would be arrests of deep state figures who were involved in the scandal.

“This was a coup. It was a conspiracy. It was criminal activity. These people need to be indicted, charged and need to be put in prison, and if they’re not, then our Constitution is nothing more than a sham,” said Shipp.

He added that there was an ongoing “civil war” within the government and that, “There is a Marxist movement within the DNC that is in control right now.”

Forecasting that Trump will win re-election in 2020, the former CIA officer said that the left’s reaction would become increasingly unhinged.

“The danger for ‘We the People’ is the Dark Left and Dark Left violence,” said Shipp. “As these indictments begin to come out, and as the players are called out, the violence on what I call the Dark Left, the violence is going to increase to the point where it’s going to be very, very bad. There are going to be beatings and probably shootings, and shooting at police. . . . There is going to be a lot of violence coming from the Left in the next year or two.”

Shipp urged Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights in preparation for a violent attempt by the left to take over “our Constitution and culture.”

Jack Dorsey Shuts Down Rep. Omar; Won’t Remove Trump 9/11 Tweet

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) didn’t get her way after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey called her to let her know that the company would not remove a tweet from President Trump featuring a video of her casually dismissing the 9/11 terrorist attack as “some people did something.”

Dorsey called Omar on Tuesday to discuss the tweet after Omar claimed she received a flood of death threats in response.

When the Somali-born Muslim Rep. pressed Dorsey on why the tweet wasn’t removed, Dorsey said that Trump’s tweet didn’t violate the company rules, according to the Washington Post.

Dorsey also pointed to the fact that the tweet and video already had been viewed and shared far beyond the site, one of the sources said. But the Twitter executive did tell Omar that the tech giant needed to do a better job generally in removing hate and harassment from the site, according to the two people familiar with the call. –Washington Post

Two days after Trump’s tweet, Omar said she had experienced an “increase in direct threats on my life — many directly referencing or replying to the president’s video.”

Twitter confirmed that the Tuesday call too place, telling the Post “During their conversation, [Dorsey] emphasized that death threats, incitement to violence, and hateful conduct are not allowed on Twitter,” adding “We’ve significantly invested in technology to proactively surface this type of content and will continue to focus on reducing the burden on the individual being targeted. Our team has also consistently been in touch with Rep. Omar’s office.”

Dorsey reached out to Omar the same day that he met with Trump in the Oval Office, after he accepted the president’s invitation. Trump is said to have spent much of the meeting discussing his concerns that Twitter is deliberately targeting and removing his followers, according to the Post.

TWITTER SHADOW BANS MICHAEL SAVAGE FOR QUESTIONING NOTRE DAME FIRE NARRATIVE

Twitter Shadow Bans Michael Savage For Questioning Notre Dame Fire Narrative

Conservative host “may join the rebels in the shadows”.

Steve Watson | Infowars.com – APRIL 25, 2019

Michael Savage believes that Islamist terrorists may have been behind the Notre Dame blaze, and he is being vocal about it. In response, Twitter has reportedly moved to shadow ban Savage to stop his opinion spreading.

Savage’s reasoning is that terrorists attempted to set the cathedral on fire as recently as 2016, in addition to the fact that hundreds of churches in France have been desecrated over the past year.

Screen Shot 2019-04-25 at 10.53.35 AM

Savage found that after he expressed that opinion, Twitter stopped a lot of other users from seeing his posts.

“It became apparent Sunday after being temporarily blocked last week following the burning of Notre Dame, that now he may join the rebels in the shadows,” wrote Amanda Metzger, who works for Savage on his website.

“Some followers who used to receive notifications of his tweets on their smartphones no longer received them,” she added.

Metzger also noted that Savage “suddenly found his Periscope live broadcast was limited in the number of viewers.” (Periscope is owned by Twitter).

Infowars’ Alex Jones is still permanently banned from Twitter. No explanation was ever given, other than the vague suggestion that Jones ‘violated’ T&C’s.

It appears Savage now finds himself in the Twitter sin bin along with Jones and many others.

“Who is in the shadows deciding who is heard and who is silenced? Someone in a dark room behind a bright screen in a foreign country with no First Amendment?” Metzger asked, adding “maybe it’s an American trying to create a safe space online.”

“I can’t think of anything less safe – anything more damaging – than limiting the exchange of ideas,” she continued. “We’re in a dangerous place when we’ve forgotten the phrase, ‘I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.’”

“We are getting closer to the point where federal regulation of social media is inevitable. The airwaves are regulated. In this case, my plea is that there is some transparency in who is banned, blocked or deplatformed and why,” Metzger urged, adding “I would prefer no one find themselves silenced by another.”

“Maybe you don’t care who was deplatformed last year. You didn’t agree with them anyway and seeing their tweets and posts ruined your day,” Metzger concluded. “But if you don’t stand up for them now, they won’t have a voice to come to your defense when you are silenced.”

In related news, it appears that Twitter is planning to allow users to report tweets that they believe are an attempt to ‘mislead’ people at election time.

What could go wrong there?

In a blog post regarding the change, Twitter declared that “Any attempts to undermine the process of registering to vote or engaging in the electoral process is contrary to our company’s core values.”

The move appears to be an effort on behalf of Twitter to adhere to the EU ‘Code of Practice against disinformation’ which Facebook and Google have also signed up to.

Cal State LA President Issues Letter Lamenting ‘Cost’ Of Free Speech Ahead Of Daily Wire’s Knowles Event

Michael Knowles

“I cannot remain silent in the face of actions that ostracize our students…”

In a community-wide letter sent out just a few days before The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles‘ scheduled speech on the unversity’s campus, California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) President William Coveno laments the “cost” of protecting free speech.

In a letter sent to the entire “university community” Friday, Coveno addresses the issue of speech that “may be deeply hurtful and may cause anger, confusion and feelings of betrayal.” He also reminds students that the school offers counseling and other services to help handle this “deeply hurtful” speech.

While Coveno does not detail the specific incidents that prompted the letter, he states that he feels compelled to write because of attempts to “ostracize oure students who are immigrants or children of immigrants.” He does not mention Knowles’ upcoming appearance on the campus (Tuesday, April 23), but the timing of the letter and a few of its references has raised eyebrows among the sponsors of the event, Young America’s Foundation.

“Over the years, I’ve spoken with countless families in our community whose dreams for their children are like those of my family,” Coveno begins. “They want their kids to receive a college education so they’ll have good careers and a bright future. Cal State LA offers fertile ground for those dreams to come true as our students explore new ideas and opportunities together. That’s the experience I hope our students will have here.”

The tone of the letter then dramatically shifts. “But there are times when their experiences are not ones that I wish for them,” writes Coveno. He follows that ominous comment with a discussion of the “cost” of free speech.

“As a public university, we uphold the right to free speech — but I want you to know that I recognize its cost,” he writes. “Some speech may be deeply hurtful and may cause anger, confusion and feelings of betrayal among many in our community.”

The university president then suggests that his comments have been triggered by some students’ insensitive statements about immigrants. “As a first-generation college graduate, whose life was changed through education, I cannot remain silent in the face of actions that ostracize our students who are immigrants or children of immigrants,” he continues. “When the actions of a few on our campus lack the compassion and sensitivity that characterize healthy dialogue, it is our collective responsibility to restore those values.”

Coveno then makes clear that when he says “immigrants,” he includes illegal immigrants. “I stand, in unwavering solidarity, with all our students, regardless of their immigration status,” he writes, adding: “To demean and insult in a blatant attempt to provoke others is wrong. Dreamers and other immigrant students are transforming their lives through education and realizing their dreams.”

Knowles’ speech has been promoted by members of YAF in part as addressing the issue of illegal immigration, including the group holding a “build the wall” event.

Coveno then provides contact information for the university’s counseling and psychological services office as well as the Dreamers Resource Center.

“The role of the University in these divisive times is to stand for the values and principles that are central to higher education and to a civil society,” Coveno concludes. “As we witness the polarization of our nation, we must not allow that vitriol to influence how we relate to each other. In our community, compassion and caring are fundamental and divisiveness has no place.”

Knowles’ recent YAF-sponsored speech titled “Men Are Not Women” on the campus of the University of Missouri-Kansas City was met with protesters, who attempted to obstruct other students from hearing his speech by drowning out the speaker. The event erupted in chaos when one student sprayed an unknown liquid on Knowles, prompting campus police to arrest the demonstrator. The chancellor of the university responded to the ugly incident by denouncing Knowles and praising the protesters.

TECHTech Censorship: Instagram Bans Pro-Trump Cartoonist Ben Garrison

By

Ben Garrison Banned Instagram

Pro-Trump political cartoonist Ben Garrison was banned from Instagram earlier today, as the platform claimed he posted hate speech and violated the platform’s terms.

Garrison discovered his ban when logging into the platform today. He was greeted with a notification seeming to suggest the cartoonist posted something the platform considers “hate speech,” however, it is unclear what may have been offensive about his post.

“We removed your post because it doesn’t follow our Community Guidelines on hate speech or symbols,” the notification read. “If you violate our guidelines again, your account may be restricted or disabled.”

When Garrison attempted to accept the notification and access his count, he received a second notification informing him “Your account has been disabled for violating our terms.”

Garrison took to Twitter, citing his ban as an example of tech censorship and bias.

“#WhosNext” wrote Garrison, “Anyone who disagrees with the #Democrat Narrative #censorship ramp up for #2020Elections” he asked rhetorically. Garrison also used the #StopTheBias hashtag popularized by President Donald J. Trump.

CAP

Garrison joins a slew of conservatives who have been banned from the Facebook-owned platform.

British commentator and politician Tommy Robinson was banned last year during his legal hurdles, with former Proud Boys leader and VICE founder Gavin McInnes banned two months later.

Last week, Canadian politician and journalist Faith Goldy gave an exclusive interviewto Big League Politics after she was banned by Facebook and Instagram.

“Facebook, without any warning to me, has informed Canada’s state journalists that they consider me to be a ‘Dangerous Individual,’” Faith Goldy told Big League Politics.

“What a farce! I’m a 29-year-old Canadian girl who loves my country and makes videos citing statistics from my kitchen table,” she continued. “If enemies of nationalism consider little ol’ me to be a threat, it shows you how weak their arguments really are. Newsflash: Ideas took countries and whole continents by storm long before Instagram models and Facebook likes were a thing.”

Goldy was banned from Instagram, too, which is owned by Facebook.

Last month Facebook, the parent company of Instagram, was forced to apologizeafter it banned President Trump’s social media director Dan Scavino.
