Soros foundation takes aim at Facebook, calls for congressional oversight

The head of billionaire George Soros’ foundation called for congressional oversight of Facebook, after the social media giant finally took some responsibility for hiring a PR firm to smear its critics as agents of Soros.

“So @facebook decides to drop a turkey on Thanksgiving eve, with admission that Definers was tasked by company leadership to target and smear George Soros because he publicly criticized their out of control business model. Sorry, but this needs independent, congressional oversight,” Open Society Foundations head Patrick Gaspard tweeted on Wednesday night.

Gaspard was responding to an admission by Facebook’s outgoing Head of Communications and Policy Elliot Schrage, who owned up top hiring a PR firm – Washington, DC-based Definers – to attack Facebook’s critics and label them agents of Soros, a billionaire and prominent liberal donor.

In a blog post, Schrage admitted that he tasked Definers with pushing the Soros angle, namely that the billionaire was funding the activist group ‘Freedom from Facebook.’

After learning that Soros did in fact fund some of the group’s members, Schrage said Definers “prepared documents and distributed these to the press to show that this was not simply a spontaneous grassroots movement.” Schrage maintained that Facebook did not ask Definers to create ‘fake news,’ despite a former employee telling NBC that Definers had its own “in-house fake news shop” to spread its message.

The relationship was revealed in an explosive New York Times report last week that accused Facebook’s senior leadership of mismanaging a multitude of scandals, from ‘Russian interference’ in the 2016 election to the Cambridge Analytica privacy debacle earlier this year.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg both denied any knowledge of the company’s hiring of Definers, despite an official statement describing the relationship between Facebook and Definers as “well known in the media.”

Soros’ associates have been relentless in calling for change at Facebook, even since before the New York Times’ story broke. In January, Soros himself called Facebook and other Silicon Valley tech “monopolies” a “menace” to society whose “days are numbered.” Last week, Michael Vachon, an adviser to the chair at Soros Fund Management, called on Facebook to undertake an audit of all of its lobbying and PR relationships.

Nor were they buying Zuckerberg’s protestations of innocence.

“I find it hard to believe that one would go after someone like George Soros…without some clearance at the highest levels,” Gaspard told CNN on Tuesday night.

Zuckerberg appears to be holding firm, though. In his own interview with CNN on Tuesday, the 34-year-old CEO issued his trademark style of meandering, deflective denial when host Laurie Segall asked if he knew anything about the affair.

“Well…uhh…I learned about this when I read the report as well…I don’t think this point was about a specific PR firm, it was about how we act. That’s why I think it’s not just important what we’re doing with this one firm, but that we go through and look at all of the different PR firms and folks we work with,” Zuckerberg replied.

After spending much of the year apologizing for one privacy screw-up after another, Zuckerberg is once again back in the spotlight. Despite falling stock prices, shareholder moves to oust him, and now Soros’ wealth and influence pushing against him, Zuckerberg was defiant.

Asked whether he’d ever step down as Facebook’s chairman – Zuckerberg is both chairman and CEO of the company – he replied “that’s not the plan.”

“There are certainly going to be issues that we need to work through over time,” Zuckerberg continued. “But I think that while we are doing that, we can’t lose sight of all of the really positive things that are happening here as well.”

GERMAN POLICE ‘COVER UP HOW A SYRIAN RAPED A DISABLED WOMAN SEVERAL TIMES’

German police ‘cover up how a Syrian raped a disabled woman several times’

The incident that happened in the town of Chemnitz, was classified by the police as ‘not press-free’, after both German news sites asked for more information

Voice Of Europe – NOVEMBER 19, 2018

According to two German news sources, police have ‘covered up’ a Syrian asylum seeker’s rape of a disabled woman. At least one of them is a reliable source and known for quality journalism.

According to Philosophia Perennis and reliable news outlet Junge Freiheit a Syrian asylum seeker repeatedly raped a woman after being attacked in a hallway.

The incident that happened in the town of Chemnitz, was classified by the police as ‘not press-free’, after both German news sites asked for more information.

After combined researched both media sources allege that a Syrian asylum seeker raped a severely, visually impaired woman.

Andrzej Rydzik, the deputy spokesman of the police department of Chemnitz confirmed investigations into the alleged rape to Junge Freiheit.

Among their questions, the newspaper wanted the alleged victims identity confirmed, whether the alleged perpetrator is still on the run and why there was no press release from the police?

“For tactical reasons, and above all for reasons of victim protection,” Andrzey Rydzik told the newspaper, “there was no publication of information in any of our media”.

Facebook hired PR firm to label its critics ‘agents of Soros’

In a bid to counteract negative publicity, social media giant Facebook hired a PR agency to discredit critics by claiming that they were agents of liberal billionaire George Soros, a New York Times report has revealed.

Facebook hasn’t been the most popular company as of late. Repeated privacy and data-leaking scandals followed by half-hearted apologies, and an ongoing effort to clamp down on alternative news pages have kept Facebook and its CEO Mark Zuckerberg in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this year.

The backlash was visible at a House Judiciary Committee hearing in July, when protesters held up signs depicting Zuckerberg and Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg as giant octopuses, with their tentacles encircling the globe. Facebook complained to the Anti-Defamation League, who called the posters “a classic anti-Semitic trope.”

Behind the scenes, Facebook prepared to meet the protesters on their level. When combating protest from activist groups like Freedom from Facebook and Color of Change, Facebook hired Definers Public Affairs – a Washington DC PR firm – to smear and discredit its critics, according to a New York Times report published Tuesday.

Definers’ key tactic: identify an enemy.

The agency cast billionaire liberal financier George Soros as the puppet master behind the opposition to Facebook. It circulated a document this summer connecting Soros to the anti-Facebook movement, and pressed journalists to look into financial links between the billionaire and the activist groups.

Daily Caller journalist Joe Gabriel Simonson recalled being contacted by “a PR guy” who kept “bringing up Soros.”Simonson was encouraged for one article to link Soros with Latino protesters complaining about Facebook requiring proof of ID to buy political ads.

“It was odd and we didn’t end up going with that angle,” he tweeted on Wednesday.

As well as pushing the Soros-did-it angle to the press, the Times claims that Definers wrote their own articles bashing rival tech companies, including Google and Apple, and publishing them on NTKNetwork.com, a site designed to look like a news site. Facebook denied ever requesting that Definers write such hit-pieces, and severed its ties with the company late Wednesday night.

Facebook’s labeling of Soros as the boogeyman was not a random decision. The billionaire has been a vocal and public critic of Facebook, which he described, in a speech at the Davos economic forum this January, as a “menace” to society, that has “neither the will nor the inclination to protect society against the consequences of (its) actions.”

“Their days are numbered,” Soros’ speech concluded.

To that end, Soros has indeed financed some anti-Facebook initiatives. Color of Change director Rashad Robinson told the Guardian that his organization, which has run online campaigns accusing Facebook of racial discrimination, privacy violations, and hate speech infractions, is partly funded by Soros.

Robinson sees Facebook’s targeting of Soros – who is Jewish – as anti-Semitic.

“This narrative has really dangerous anti-Semitic undertones about Jewish people controlling the world,” he told the Guardian. “It’s also deeply anti-black – the idea that our strategies, our ideas, our vision are somehow built off some puppet master… That Facebook would employ a right-wing firm to say that is deeply troubling.”

Soros, an investor who made his fortune shorting the British Pound in 1992, has attracted persistent criticism for funding liberal causes worldwide. Soros’ pro-migration lobbying has seen his Open Society Foundations NGO expelled from his native Hungary. His organization has funded protests against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in the US, and President Trump has said that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Soros had been financing Central American migrant caravans surging toward the US border.

Soros’ defenders have repeatedly argued that the depiction of him as a liberal ‘puppet master’ is a thinly-veiled anti-Semitic slur – despite the fact that Soros has also been called an “enemy of Israel” by Israeli Prime MInister Benjamin Netanyahu, for his work opposing Israel’s mass deportations of African asylum seekers.

Journalist Tim Miller called the criticism of Soros “a good sign of the moral rot on the right,” before the New York Times report revealed that Miller had taken a job with Definers to spread the same rot he complained about on Twitter.

In a blog post detailing its relationship with Definers, Facebook said that, while it asked the agency to encourage the press to investigate the link between the anti-Facebook campaign and a “well-known critic of our company,” it did not spread misinformation.

PAYPAL BANS YOUTUBE COMPETITOR BITCHUTE WITHOUT EXPLANATION

PayPal Bans YouTube Competitor Bitchute Without Explanation

Purging users from YouTube doesn’t go far enough for leftists

Infowars.com – NOVEMBER 14, 2018

Payment processor PayPal has permanently banned video platform BitChute from using its services.

BitChute, a competitor of Google’s video giant YouTube, released a statement addressing PayPal’s decision to sever ties with the company on Wednesday.

“A few hours ago BitChute received a notice that our PayPal account has been permanently limited, with immediate effect, and that we will no longer be able to accept or send payments,” the statement reads.

“BitChute is pro-free expression which is a universal human right. Furthermore, censorship and deplatforming are poor ways to tackle societal problems as they merely create echo chambers that can lead to bigger problems in the long run.”

“It’s important to platform all ideas, as this exposes them to immediate opposition and allows for a public deconstruction of any flaws they may contain. If you are against bigotry or racism or hateful ideologies, you should be pro-free expression,” the statement concluded.

PayPal has purged several individuals and companies recently, including Infowars, social media website GAB.com, UK activist Tommy Robinson, and others in a campaign to eliminate voices which challenge leftist dogma.

ACTING AG WHITAKER: ‘SPECIAL COUNSEL IS REQUIRED’ TO INVESTIGATE CLINTON FOUNDATION

Acting AG Whitaker: 'Special Counsel is Required' To Investigate Clinton Foundation

“It’s very interesting to watch the Clinton camp try to explain away these meetings.”

By Michael W. Chapman

Matthew Whitaker, the acting attorney general of the United States and a former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Iowa, said in a 2016 interview that there is enough evidence “in the public domain” to warrant the appointment of a “special prosecutor” to investigate the Clinton Foundation. He added that the Foundation was “clearly a pay-to-play situation” where if you gave money to the Foundation, you got “preferential treatment” at the State Department, which was headed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from 2009 to 2013.

Hillary Clinton’s emailing of classified documents through her private computer server was a “serious” problem, but the “real ballgame” is “where Clinton Foundation donors were given preferential treatment,” said Whitaker in an Aug. 25, 2016 interview with Breitbart News Daily.

“We need somebody that is independent to look at these facts,” he said. “I was concerned when I heard that the Attorney General [Loretta Lynch in 2016] and the politicals at the Department of Justice had determined not to open an investigation into what is clearly a pay-to-play situation where, if you gave money to the Clinton Foundation, you got preferential treatment, if you had business from the State Department.”

“Based on what I’ve seen, that’s in the public domain currently, I think there’s enough to have a special prosecutor that can look into this, that can have the ability to subpoena documents and interview witnesses and do the kind of things and have the independence separate from this administration,” said Whitaker, the former chief of staff to former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

“There is so much here, so much smoke, so many unanswered questions,” he said.

Towards the end of the interview, Whitaker said, “I’ve always thought the Clinton Foundation is a very sophisticated way to get around the campaign finance laws and to allow for unlimited donations and an ability to curry favor with a presidential candidate that, quite frankly, is unprecedented in the history of our country.”

Matthew Whitaker was named the acting attorney general of the United States on Nov. 7 by President Donald Trump. Between 2004 and 2009, Whitaker was the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa. Whitaker is married and has three children.

Sweden’s right-wing AfS party censored by YouTube for wanting to deport 2,000 Islamists

By

A video of the Alternative for Sweden (AfS) party, was taken down by YouTube for ‘hate speech’. Youtube has now even threatened to remove the party’s entire user account, Sweden’s Fria Tider reports.

It was during Monday evening that the AfS’s party leader, Gustav Kasselstrand, published a video of the weekend’s Islamic terrorist attack in Paris, where one person was killed and several were injured.

Kasselstrand said, among other things, that he wants to expel all 2,000 Islamists. In just a few hours, the movie received thousands of views. But now YouTube has taken down the video, calling it “hate speech”.

“I see YouTube’s censorship and allegations of hate speech as a pure ‘quality stamp’ of my message. Nevertheless, it is problematic that, as a party leader for a fast-growing party in Sweden, I cannot convey my views on social media”, says Gustav Kasselstrand about the removed film.

Kasselstrand continues:

“The monopoly of social media giants gives private companies control over freedom of expression in social media, a platform that is so important that it can be seen as the equivalent of our time like the ancient forum.”

It is not the first time Kasselstrand was censored. Even his podcast “The cooked frog” was closed down last year from Soundcloud on arbitrary grounds, he says.

Trump’s Nationalism Is Undoing Decades of GOP Failure

Trump's Nationalism Is Undoing Decades of GOP Failure

By Gavin Wax

One thing the American Right has forgotten through their bromides in favor of hyper individualism and the meandering status quo-ism is that humans are inherently collective beings. Now while things like land collectivization and seizing the means of production are terrible as public policies, humans do yearn to connect with others under the banner of a shared, common culture, language, background, and history.

Families, tribes, churches, fraternities, and other voluntary organic collectives are an integral and necessary part of the human experience. One such collective, I argue, is more important than all of those. It is the nation. Without a strong nation, all else collapses beneath it. When Americans are united amongst a common patriotism, everything else seems to fall into place. When they are not, the Constitution becomes little more than a piece of paper and society crumbles.

The neoliberal and neoconservative consensus – indeed, two wings on the same bird of prey feasting away at what’s left of the health and prosperity of America – have pushed a false ideology upon us. This ideology rewards rampant consumerism instead of thrift. It rewards selfishness at the expense of the greater good. It has caused free-falling birth rates, widespread cultural degeneracy, a fractured and atomized populous, the dumbing down of society, and now jeopardizes the future of Western Civilization as we know it.

This consensus is under attack like never before. With the legacy media faltering and public rage on the uptick, the perfect storm was formed and the inconceivable effect of President Donald Trump happened. This has sent shockwaves through the world, as the madman-in-chief dances to the beat of his own drummer. But there is clearly a method to his madness. He has re-introduced nationalism back into the public zeitgeist at a time when it is desperately needed. This is the antidote to the failed Republican dogma that has allowed the left to grow so formidable over the years.

Conservatives, many of whom are well-meaning polite individuals, fell into the trap of being assimilated to the establishment and adopting their value system. After years in the Beltway, they grew to care more about how some cocktail parties viewed them than doing what was right for their nation. Unfashionable issues on borders, foreign policy, trade, etc. can get you isolated in Washington DC and quickly out of a job. These conservatives were happy to cling to their think-tank credentials, their media perches, their bureaucratic positions, and other establishment spoils while America was pissed away on their watch.

Groups such as libertarians on the other hand were once the insurgents pushing back against the conservative status quo, but once they achieved a bit of success, they fell into the same trappings. They began to moderate themselves at the behest of political consultants, grew comfortable in their government posts, became accustomed to the attention and accolades of the spotlight, and could shortly no longer be differentiated from the establishment. Now, they are situated on the sidelines as irrelevant as they ever were with very few exceptions.

Trump’s aggressive push for nationalism will make it difficult for the mistakes of conservatism and libertarianism to be replicated once more. By keeping the focus on ‘America First’, it makes it difficult for special interests and oligarchs to co-opt the phenomenon he built. When the Koch Brothers propose globalist trade deals under ‘free market’ pretenses, it was difficult for a tea party conservative or libertarian to mount an effective argument against that policy. But for a nationalistic Trump Republican, it is second nature. If it doesn’t put America first, the policy must be rejected every single time without exception.

Trump’s message discipline is admirable. Although he may get caught in the weeds while making attacks on Twitter, he never loses focus of the big picture. It’s not about big government or small government. It is not about a set of esoteric principles that are no longer germane. It is not about maintaining the facade of prestige within rotting government institutions. It is only about making America as independent, secure, healthy and prosperous as possible. Nationalism is the only possible defense of Western Civilization against radical leftist globalism. We are blessed to have a President in the oval office who understands that reality.
