They’re not cops or armed vigilantes, but Brooklyn’s new ‘Muslim patrol’ hopes to work with police to help make their neighborhood more Muslim-friendly. RT’s Caleb Maupin joined the patrol on its beat.
Founded by a Yemeni migrant and boasting at least 30 members, the Muslim Community Patrol’s (MCP) main aim is to be the “eyes and ears” of Brooklyn’s Muslim community. With uniforms and marked cars complete with sirens, the group could easily be mistaken for regular police – but don’t be fooled. The patrolmen are unarmed and have no police powers. Instead, the group radios to police if they encounter something that requires police action – or firepower. The volunteer-based organization is believed to be the first Muslim ‘patrol’ of its kind in the United States.
The patrol was founded in response to concerns over an uptick in Islamophobia, but they do much more than just patrol the streets. One volunteer who spoke with Maupin said that the group offers counseling, feeds the homeless, and participates in other community outreach projects.
“We’re here to help bridge the community together,” the volunteer said.
Local residents who spoke to RT seemed supportive of the initiative, although a few said the patrol, which mirrors similar groups created by Hasidic and Asian communities in Brooklyn, was cause for concern.

The Chicago Sun-Times published a story on April 27th attacking the Proud Boys, a far-right men’s group led by a person of color, in a desperate attempt to conflate the group with actual racists who showed up to protest crooked State’s Attorney Kim Foxx for her handling of the Jussie Smollett hate-hoax.
Writers Tom Schuba and Matthew Hendrickson authored the write-up, which relied on sourcing from several individuals with ties to alt-left groups like Antifa. In it, they paint the Proud Boys in the same light as actual confirmed racist groups like Identity Evropa. They cite a random Twitter account, Panic! at the discord, which is known to doxx alleged racists on Twitter, a practice that is against the platforms terms and services.
Throughout the propaganda piece, the duo claim that the Proud Boys are basically indistinguishable from dangerous racist groups, but fail to recognize that the group is led by an Afro-Cuban entrepreneur and populated with a large share of minorities in their ranks. This is a tired game that mainstream media hacks like Shuba and Hendrickson play, where anyone who doesn’t adopt the Antifa world-view is somehow a “Nazi” or “evil racist.”
The protest documented in the article from the Chicago Sun-Times follows the police union organized demonstration against Kim Foxx, who famously dropped over a dozen charges against washed up Empire actor Jussie Smollett related to his faking of a hate crime against himself several months ago. The protest was attended by a wide-variety of groups, including the Proud Boys. The entire article’s intended purpose seems to paint the majority of people protesting Ms. Foxx as racists, therefore lending her victim status with an extended on-the-record quote from the corrupt State’s Attorney.
While Shuba and Hendrickson go to great lengths to condition readers into believing that the Proud Boys are “just like” actual suspected racists who showed at the event, their thesis is incredibly thin and littered with so-called evidence from disgraced organizations like the SPLC. The SPLC has been exposed by former high-level employees who document how the organization maintains a racist work environment, all the while labeling anyone to the right of Karl Marx as “racist” or “extremist.”
They even printed an unverified quote from cop-hating alt-left political activist Tom Rainey, detailing a supposed encounter he had with a member of the Proud Boys. They did so describing Rainey as an anti-fascist activist who was allegedly swatted at by a member of the Proud Boys, yet fail to disclose Rainey’s history of assaulting police officers during a violent anti-cop demonstration in 2017. Mr. Rainey, like the Antifa linked Twitter account used for source material in the Chicago Sun-Times article, has been known to associate with dangerous alt-left groups in the Chicago-area.
Both Shuba and Hendrickson refused to respond to a series of questions about their alleged associations with radical alt-left groups, failing to deny on record any affiliations or relationships they may have with organizations like Antifa. They also failed to respond to a questions about their “off-the-clock” relationships with violent anti-cop activist Tom Rainey.
Similarly, their editors failed to explain why the Chicago Sun-Times has deemed an Antifa linked Twitter account, the SPLC and Mr. Rainey as credible sources. The writers and editors refused to explain why they spent such a great deal of time attacking the Proud Boys, and more importantly, why they failed to disclose that the group is led by a person of color and count a significant amount of minorities in their membership.
Antifa was exposed yesterday for allegedly conspiring with Mexican drug cartels to traffic firearms across the border in an attempt to foment a violent insurrection in response to President Trump’s hard-line immigration policies.
Local news coverage of the write-up feature a photo of Proud Boys with the fear-mongering headline “White Nationalists Target Chicago,” with Schuba again failing to disclose that the Proud Boys are led by a person of color and have a history of standing against actual racism during his appearance on Chicago’s WCIU.
Tarrio pointed to a recent interaction members of the Florida chapter of the group had with Whoopi Goldberg, where they exchanged in a peaceful dialogue outside her Sarasota, FL event, which he says shows how his group and members of the MAGA movement are able to engage in peaceful dialogue with political opponents instead of resorting to violence like Chicago Sun-Times source Tom Rainey.
“We do not stand for racism of any kind. We love the hell out of America and what it means to be an American. Defending western values is our top priority. Socially awkward soyboys like Shuba and Hendrickson have to hide behind their roles as journalists in attempt to avoid responsibility for their lies. When these types of people are confronted in person or in the court through legal means, it’s amazing how cowardly they become.”
At the time of publishing, the Chicago Sun-Times has failed to respond to multiple requests for comment.

Attacks against Muslims at a 9 year low
APRIL 15, 2019
The number of anti-religious attacks against Jews and Christians in France continues to rise, while attacks against Muslims are at their lowest for 9 years.
According to a group that studies hate crime attacks against Christians, February was the worst month for attacks on Christian churches since they began collecting data.
Other public Christian symbols have also been targeted, including summit crosses on mountaintops and public statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary, which have been decapitated or destroyed.
A deliberate attack on the Saint-Sulpice church in Paris which caused nearly a million euros in damage was reported by the mainstream media as a ‘brief fire’ in which no one was hurt.
The number of anti-Semitic attacks (541) rose 74 per cent from 2017-2018 while anti-Muslim attacks numbered just 100, the lowest since 2010.
Meanwhile in the same period, there were 1063 anti-Christian attacks, a slight increase on the previous year.
According to Ellen Fantini, anti-Christian attacks are being minimized despite representing the largest share of hate crimes.
According to reports, the number of Jews fleeing France for their safety has dramatically increased since 2000.
In one Paris suburb alone – Seine-Saint-Denis – 40 per cent of the population is Muslim while 400,000 illegal immigrants also live there.
Just days after the prosecutors dropped all charges against Jussie Smollett, who had been indicted on 16 counts of disorderly conduct, the “Empire” actor could again make headlines.
Smollett is nominated for the 2019 NAACP Image Awards, scheduled for Saturday. Six-time host and “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson told Variety on Wednesday that he hopes to see the controversial actor there.
“I hope he wins,” Anderson added. “I’m happy for him that the system worked for him in his favor because the system isn’t always fair, especially for people of color. So I’m glad it worked out for him.”
When asked whether or not Smollett would be in attendance at the award ceremony this year, representative Pamela Sharp told USA TODAY she did “not have that information as of now.”
This is the fourth consecutive year Smollett has been nominated in the Image Awards’ Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category. He previously won in that category in 2017 and has also nabbed three different music-related Image Awards for his work on “Empire,” according to IMDb. He’s been in attendance for the last three award shows.
“It’s not my place or any other person’s place to judge him or what not, but I’m glad the he’s nominated,” Anderson concluded. “I hope he wins because I’d be interested to hear his speech.”
Wednesday morning, the Chicago Police Department fulfilled a Freedom of Information Act request from WGN News and CWB Chicago, and released complete but redacted files from the Jussie Smollett investigation — the last such documents that can be expected, according to CPD’s spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi.
The documents, first posted by CWB, show the progression of a police investigation that began on January 29th, when Smollett and his friend summoned Chicago Police to Smollett’s downtown apartment to file a police report, indicating that Smollett had been assaulted and battered while walking home from a local Subway sandwich shop.
You can find File #1 on CWB’s page here, and File #2 here. Both files are heavily redacted, and were apparently resubmitted to the Chicago Police Department on Tuesday, after the Cook County State’s Attorney dropped all charges against Smollett, apparently in anticipation of FOIA requests.
There are several items in CPD’s investigative files that have not appeared in prior reporting, including that, by late January, just days after Smollett reported the incident to Chicago Police, the police had shifted their investigation, reclassifying it from an “aggravated battery” to a “public peace violation” or false police report.
By January 31st, it appears that CPD detectives had requested surveillance footage from buildings surrounding Smollett’s residence, and had determined that it was likely Smollett had either orchestrated or fabricated the “hate crime” initially reported to police.
The files also catalog CPD’s interactions with the now-infamous Osundairo brothers — the two men Smollett allegedly hired to help him carry out the attack. CPD interviewed the Osundairo brothers several times, connecting the pair to the scene of the crime through a hot sauce bottle that one brother admitted he had filled with bleach, and then poured on Smollett during the attack. A New York Post reporter later found the hot sauce bottle while poking around the scene of the alleged crime.
The brothers also indicated that a $3500 check they’d received from Smollett was for more than just “training,” which they charged only $30 to $50 per hour for.
According to the reports, police investigators and prosecutors worked hard to keep developments of the case — particularly grand jury witnesses like the Osundairo brothers — out of the public eye, driving witnesses to and from courthouses outside of downtown Chicago, so that they could testify without triggering a media frenzy.
Perhaps most interestingly, the files show that the Chicago Police Department cooperated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on the Smollett case as early as late January, as well. According to one of the files, the FBI requested — and received — a copy of a the results of a search warrant served on Smollett’s Apple iCloud account. The FBI is reportedly still conducting its own investigation into Smollett over a letter sent to Smollett at Fox Studios containing a “white powder” that turned out to be crushed Tylenol.
Although the files don’t provide much more in the way of damning evidence against Smollett, the circumstances surrounding their release are part of an interesting twist in the Smollett case. After the Cook County State’s Attorney decided to drop the 17 charges against Smollett, the court case was wiped off the books — a highly unusual move — and Smollett’s records were sealed.
According to CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, speaking to Chicago’s ABC news affiliate, Wednesday’s document release is the final release — all other documents pertinent to the investigation and case against Smollett are going under seal.
Initially, the order delivered on Tuesday was not read to apply to city or police records. An updated order, issued Wednesday morning, now covers all records pertinent to the Smollett case.
The Chicago Police have gone on the offensive against the prosecutor’s office following yesterday’s developments. In a tweet issued yesterday afternoon, Gugliemi took on Jussie Smollett’s proclamation of innocence, noting that “Chicago police detectives did an excellent investigation and their work was reaffirmed by an independent grand jury who brought 16 criminal counts. In our experience, innocent individuals don’t forget bond & perform community service in exchange for dropped charges.”
The Fraternal Order of Police — Chicago’s primary police union — has already delivered a request to the United States Attorney’s office in Chicago requesting that a federal investigaiton into the decision to clear Smollett of all charges.
Former Michelle Obama chief of staff Tina Tchen has now been exposed as the person who intervened with Cook County state’s attorney Kim Foxx to convince the judge to drop charges against hate hoaxer Jussie Smollett, a close friend of the Obama family.
Tchen runs the Times Up Legal Defense Fund, as reported by nextshark. By January, the fund — which focuses on sexual harassment advocacy — had raised more than $14 million.
Disgraced hate-crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett has longstanding ties to the Obamas.
Cook County state’s attorney Kim Foxx is pulling a favor for the Obamas by getting their “close friend” Jussie Smollett off with no charges. George Soros’ money largely helped put Foxx in office.
“If Fox wants to be D.A. or go any further, she’s going to have to kiss the Obamas’ ass,” our source in Chicago politics tells BLP.
The Chicago Sun-Times just confirmed it: “Foxx’s call to Johnson came after an influential supporter of the “Empire” actor reached out to Foxx personally: Tina Tchen, a Chicago attorney and former chief of staff for former First Lady Michelle Obama, according to emails and text messages provided by Foxx to the Chicago Sun-Times in response to a public records request.
Tchen passed Foxx’s number to a relative of the actor, and the ensuing conversations with the family member were cited by Foxx last month as the reason she recused herself from Smollett’s prosecution as the actor faces disorderly conduct charges for allegedly making a false police report.
Text messages show Tchen contacted Foxx on Feb. 1, three days after Smollett said he was jumped by two men as he walked home from a sandwich shop near his Streeterville home. Tchen texted Foxx to set up an early morning phone call.
“I wanted to give you a call on behalf of Jussie Smollett and family who I know. They have concerns about the investigation,” Tchen wrote in a text sent before 5 a.m., seeking to set up a call with Foxx before Tchen left on an 8 a.m. flight to New York.
A few hours later, Foxx received a text from a relative of Smollett, who said she’d received the number from Tchen.”
Chicago Sun-Times passage ends
The pro-Bernie Sanders group Reclaim Chicago is sweet on Foxx as a politician (Obama still hasn’t endorsed anyone).
Reclaim Chicago works for the “Bernie Sanders Revolution” in Chicago:
Here is what Reclaim Chicago had to say about the Smollett hoax verdict, in which the judge dismissed charges in return for community service:
The Jussie Smollett case is a sad commentary on our celebrity obsessed society as well the fact that real hate crimes against Black LGBTQ in Chicago each year go without the same attention from police and the media.
This article talks about the increase of racially motivated hate crimes against Black LGBTQ across the country over the past few years. Of the 57% of all race related hate crimes, 28.4% were against African Americans, and “the next most frequent targets involved sexual orientation at 17.6 percent.” The article also talks about how these victims are often not believed by police and are more likely the victims of police violence.”
Here is Jurnee Smollett Bell’s Instagram post as Barack Obama was leaving office in January 2017:
“Feeling a lot of emotions. I remember meeting then Senator @barackobama 9 years ago. I’d been invited to introduce him in Nevada during the primaries. He was the underdog, the odds were stacked against him. Said he was too young, too black, too different…he was an other. I’ve always been an other so I saw myself in him. My own relative told me I was wasting my time, going state to state, knocking on doors for this guy with the funny name. I can’t tell you how many people hung the phone up on my sister @jazzsmollettwarwell and me as we clocked in our hours, phone banking. Working as if this was a full time job, I worked for free, because this work was food for my soul. They whispered that you couldn’t do it. That we couldn’t do it. And then tried to block you even when we proved them wrong. TWICE. You will go down as the greatest president who did the most with the least help from his “congressional leaders”. So I thank you for being you. Unapologetically. Your very existence demanded that I take the limits off my own. Before you, I lived in a world of boundaries and limits. You were audacious enough to dream big, and demanded we dream even bigger. So thank you for all you’ve given us. We will keep dreaming, keeping fighting, keep knocking on doors, keep traveling and spreading the gospel truth. Because it never was about you, it was about us, the “others”. Yes we can. Yeswe did. Yes we will.#powertothepeople ✊🏽 #ThanksObama #tbt #mypresident
