Father Gunned Down in Drive-By Shooting Next to 6-Year-Old Daughter in NYC Streets

In the wake of massive police defunding, black people are being killed in broad daylight in de Blasio’s NYC.

By Shane Trejo – 7/6/2020

A father was gunned down in front of his young daughter in a drive-by shooting as he walked across a street on New York City on Sunday afternoon.

The surveillance video of the gruesome shooting was posted today on the Twitter account of NYPD Chief Rodney Harrison.

*BEWARE: EXTREMELY GRAPHIC FOOTAGE*

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Anthony Robinson. He was shot in the chest while walking down a street in the Bronx by a killer who was driving a dark sedan. His six-year-old daughter was not harmed physically by the ambush. Robinson was one of eight people who were killed by gunfire throughout the deadly Independence Day weekend, which saw at least 49 being shot during the holiday.

Big League Politics has reported on the rise in shootings that has taken place in New York City due to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s soft-on-crime policies and the nationwide Black Lives Matter terror spree:

Shootings in New York City have spiked 358 percent in comparison to this time last year, as Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots weaken the rule of law across the city.

There were 12 shootings over the previous week in 2019, and that has jumped to an incredible 55 shootings over the same week just one year later. This resulted in 74 people being wounded, according to data released by the NYPD.

This news comes after NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea announced that a plainclothes unit meant to sniff out crime on the streets was disbanded. He made it clear that his agency would not be reversing their decision no matter how bad society devolves.

“We cannot stop our way out of this problem,” Shea said. “We need bad people held accountable,” he added.

The criminals are being unleashed, and the anti-crime strides achieved over the past few decades are being reversed under the rule of far-left Mayor Bill de Blasio.

De Blasio addressed the surge of crime with his usual empty platitudes: “We are not going back to the bad old days where there was too much gun violence in this city, nor are we going back to the bad old days” of police supposedly abusing civil liberties.

Criminals have received the message that de Blasio is actively hamstringing law enforcement. This has resulted in a wave of savagery that goes far beyond mere shootings.

The blood is on de Blasio’s hands for shackling law enforcement and allowing criminals to run wild throughout his city.

The New Normal In NYC: 11 People Shot In Under 12 Hours

Retiring detective warns the “demise” of NYC is coming if police continue to be stripped of resources.

By Steve Watson – 6/29/2020

As police warn that the disbanding of vital units will lead to anarchy in New York City, a total of eleven people were shot in the space of under 12 hours on Saturday night.

According to a report by The New York Post, there were eight separate shooting incidents between the hours of 5.30 pm to 5am in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens and Manhattan.

Within one week there have now been 59 shootings in New York, with a total of 81 people shot.

Gun violence is up 358% in New York City since June 2019, with The New York Times reporting Tuesday that “It has been nearly a quarter century since New York City experienced as much gun violence in the month of June as it has seen this year.”

The explosion in gun violence dovetails with the disbanding of NYPD anti-crime units, a decision that means around 600 plainclothes officers will be taken off targeted raids and reassigned.

A retiring NYPD detective, speaking anonymously with the NY Post,  recently warned that the move will “be the demise” of New York City.

“Anti-crime guys are the guys are the guys who the real bad guys are looking out for. Anti-crime guys are going to drive around in not just unmarked cars. They’ll come around in other cars, rentals that the city gets that you wouldn’t think are police cars.” the detective noted.

“When you’re a really bad guy, and I’m talking about really bad guys, who won’t think twice about taking another life. When they step out of the car, those were the cops who they are afraid of,” he urged.

The detective blasted Mayor Bill de Blasio, saying that he has “absolutely no idea what policing is,” after he caved to the woke mob and embraced the “Defund the Police” movement.

Knockout Game: 92-Year-Old Woman Assaulted in Broad Daylight in Manhattan

Don’t expect much media coverage of this.

By

A shocking video out of Manhattan shows an elderly woman using a stroller being knocked to the ground by a black man in an unprovoked attack, an incident that is unlikely to garner much media attention.

The incident occurred last week in the middle of the afternoon on 3rd Avenue between 15th Street & 16th Street.

The clip shows the elderly lady walking on the street as a young man of African-American appearance walks in the opposite direction.

He casually reaches out his fist and appears to punch her in the face before she falls to the ground before striking her head on a fire hydrant.

The NYPD is asking for any information that could lead to the culprit’s arrest at 800-577-TIPS.

The footage bears similarities to ‘the knockout game’ – which primarily consisted of black people randomly assaulting whites for social media clout and the sheer hell of it.

Despite innumerable examples, the media has consistently claimed that the knockout game is a figment of people’s imaginations.

With numerous cities still experiencing violent protests in response to the media narrative that racially-motivated violence against black people is worse than ever, this video once again illustrates how the opposite is the case.

Figures show that black-on-white violence is significantly more prevalent despite African-Americans making up only 13 per cent of the U.S. population.

Mayor De Blasio: Jews To Be Arrested and Churches Shutdown for Disobeying, But Muslims Are Another Story

By Matt Travis – 4/30/2020

Yesterday, Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted out a warning to the “Jewish community” just days after celebrating Muslims by offering Halal meals.

De Blasio’s tweet read,

Interesting imagery of a certain infamous leader pops into mind when reading this tweet. (And Twitter followers were quick to point out that imagery, mocking him with memes and such.)

More importantly, this isn’t the first time he’s openly targeted a particular group of religious people during this pandemic.

De Blasio was on camera just a couple weeks ago saying that he would shut down churches permanently, if they didn’t comply with his draconian orders.

He said,

A small number of religious communities, specific churches, specific synagogues are unfortunately not paying attention to this guidance [to close] even though it’s been so widespread…. If you go to your synagogue, if you go to your church and attempt to hold services after having been told so often not to, our enforcement agents will have no choice but to shut down those services….

The NYPD, Fire Department, Buildings Department, and everyone has been instructed that if they see worship services going on…they’ll inform them they need to stop the services and disperse. If that does not happen, they will take additional action up to the point of fines and potentially closing the building permanently.

It’s clear there is a bias here.

De Blasio celebrates those Muslims who are being good little boys and obeying daddy government. The focus is on how they are doing great and are just a wonderful group of people.

Out of the same mouth, De Blasio deals with Christians and Jews by threatening them for not doing exactly what he demands.

Maybe Muslims are just that much better at following the rules. That is possible, I guess.

But considering the regularity with which Democrats have shown bias in favor of Muslims over the years, that’s not likely the case. It’s far more probable that this is just more of the same intentional bullying of the “religious right” for political purposes.

Bill de Blasio is doing exactly what the Left constantly claims to be a mortal sin. He is discriminating against certain groups and giving a pass or privileges to others.

Shock: De Blasio Threatens NYC Jews Rabbi’s Funeral ’Unacceptable’… Personally Crashes It, ’Zero Tolerance’… …’The Time for Warnings Has Passed’… …No Cops, Shame for Crowds Watching Blue Angels

By Robert Kraychik – 4/29/2020

Mayor Bill de Blasio promised to arrest Jewish mourners not adhering to social distancing decrees following Tuesday’s funeral for Rabbi Chaim Mertz in New York City.

De Blasio took to Twitter with his threat of a “zero tolerance” approach against violations of the city’s social distancing directives, ostensibly as responsive measures to the coronavirus outbreak.

Something absolutely unacceptable happened in Williamsburg tonite: a large funeral gathering in the middle of this pandemic. When I heard, I went there myself to ensure the crowd was dispersed. And what I saw WILL NOT be tolerated so long as we are fighting the Coronavirus,” wrote de Blasio.

De Blasio added, “My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed. I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups. This is about stopping this disease and saving lives. Period.”

The Yeshiva World reported that de Blasio went to the funeral with New York City Police Department officers to break up the crowd of hundreds that turned out for Mertz’s funeral.

Freddi Goldstein, de Blasio’s press secretary, derided the funeral procession as “absolutely unacceptable.”

De Blasio’s comments came on the same day as an air show put on by the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds in tribute to medical professionals dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.

The New York Post reported:

The New York Metro area blew off social distancing Tuesday, with hundreds packed shoulder-to-shoulder to catch a glimpse of the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds as they roared overhead in a tribute to coronavirus frontline workers.

Photos from throughout the region show large crowds jammed together in waterfront parks and venues in New York and New Jersey, looking skyward for a glance at the famous jets.

There was little local officials could do to stop them.

De Blasio did not threaten the gathering onlookers of the air show with arrest.

Store owners boarding up buildings across Manhattan

by Luke Funk – 4/4/2020

A growing scene for those who venture out into the streets of Manhattan these days is boarded up storefronts.  From luxury retailers to small bars, establishments that have no idea when they are going to be allowed to reopen are putting up protection over their glass doors and windows.

The businesses have taken the unsightly measure in an effort to defend against the potential for civil unrest caused by the coronavirus and a lack of officers on the streets.

Mayor Bill de Blasio ordered bars and restaurants closed except for takeout service in mid-March.  Most stores were also ordered to shut down.

Now, from Lower Manhattan to the Upper East Side, outlets are boarded up.  At least a few have offered makeshift messages of hope.

Posted on a pub at 28th and Park the message “let us go forward together” is painted on some of the plywood.  Another message is painted next to it saying, “if you’re going through hell keep going.”

Typically bustling Soho sidewalks are marred by boarded-up windows at designer brand stores, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Coach, and Dolce & Gabbana.

The NYPD has reported that crime in the city has actually dropped since the coronavirus outbreak has limited people on the streets.

As the number of NYPD officers are added to the sick list or test positive to coronavirus, there are questions on the ability to effectively fight crime.

On Thursday, 6,498 uniformed members of the NYPD were on the sick report which accounts for 18% of the Department’s uniformed workforce.  1,354 uniformed members and 169 civilian members have tested positive for the coronavirus.

In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the Empire State will do “whatever we have to do” in response to a growing number of city police officers who have called out sick.

NYC BUSINESS BURGLARIES RISE 75%…

Some shops are opting to board up storefronts as a deterrent

By Ben Chapman and Keiko Morris

Burglaries of businesses have risen in New York City under emergency measures to fight the new coronavirus, according to new New York Police Department data, and some businesses are boarding up their storefronts.

The NYPD has seen a 75% increase in reports of burglaries of commercial establishments from March 12, when New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio declared a state of emergency, to March 31, police officials said. The NYPD recorded 254 burglaries of businesses during that time period this year compared with 145 for the same period last year, the officials said.

All boroughs of the city have seen increases, the officials said.

The increase in burglaries coincided with steps to stop the spread of the coronavirus. On March 15, the city ordered restaurants and bars to cease on-site service, prompting many establishments to close altogether or limit operations. A March 20 decree by Gov. Andrew Cuomo called for the closure of all nonessential businesses, leading many retail stores to shutter.

“We knew with the closing of many stores that we could see an increase and, unfortunately, we are,” said NYPD Chief of Crime Control Strategies Michael LiPetri.

Screen Shot 2020-04-04 at 2.18.04 PM

The increase in commercial burglaries comes as major crimes across the city fell during the pandemic. From March 12 through March 31, major felonies, such as rapes, murders and assaults, fell by nearly 20% when compared with the same period in 2019, dropping to 3,740 such crimes from 4,670 a year earlier.

But Mr. LiPetri said that break-ins of eateries, supermarkets and retail establishments are fueling a rise in commercial burglaries. There were 30 burglaries of supermarkets and bodegas between March 12 and March 31, according to NYPD data, a 400% increase from six such incidents recorded during the same period a year earlier. Burglaries of eateries nearly doubled, rising to 51 incidents in 2020 from 28 incidents in 2019.

Thieves are taking currency, electronics and consumables, such as food, alcohol and retail goods from businesses, Mr. LiPetri said. They gain entry to closed businesses by forcing open doors, breaking windows or climbing in from rooftops, he said.

NYPD patrols are mobilized against the thefts, Mr. LePetri said. Police are working with business owners to deploy additional resources where needed and are reassessing patrols in real time, according to NYPD officials. On March 31, police apprehended three suspects charged in a string of burglaries in Queens and Brooklyn.

As burglaries have increased, a handful of chain retailers have boarded up New York City shops, including the cosmetics retailer Sephora, which has covered the windows of stores at locations in Times Square and on West 34th Street in Manhattan.

In a statement, Sephora representatives said the company has closed North American locations to adapt to the coronavirus and adopted standardized precautions for its properties. “Our goal is to ensure a great experience for our clients when we have the opportunity to reopen,” the company said.

Police officials said that few New York City businesses have boarded up their storefronts. But leaders of local business-improvement districts worry that the strategy could invite graffiti and potentially prompt other shop owners to do the same. Some districts said they haven’t seen any large increases or break-ins of storefronts.

Dan Biederman, president of the 34th Street Partnership, a business-improvement district that includes the closed Sephora location, said it isn’t necessary for businesses to board up their windows. “It’s a solution in search of a problem,” Mr. Biederman said.

On Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, the local business-improvement district already had to send crews to remove graffiti from the boards covering an Aesop store, said Mark Caserta, executive director of the Park Slope Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District.

Residents who noticed vandalism of the storefront run by the high-end retailer of lotions, fragrances and skin-care products called to complain, Mr. Caserta said. Representatives for Aesop didn’t respond to calls for comment.

Mr. Caserta said boarding up buildings sends an inappropriate message to the community.

“It brings up this idea of rioting and collapse of society,” Mr. Caserta said. “This is way too much, and it sends the wrong signal.”
