CNN Tries To Explain Away Its Own Viewer Poll’s HUGE Numbers For Trump

CNN’s David Chalian struggled to explain why President Trump scored 76 percent “somewhat positive” or “very positive” in the cable network’s instant poll. The poll only counted “speech watchers,” Chalian explained, so Trump’s supporters might have been over-represented because they were watching the speech.
CNN seems to be having a tough night. Incidentally, the CBS News viewer poll also clocked in at exactly 76 percent approval for President Trump’s State of the Union address.
President Donald Trump urged Americans to come together to “Choose Greatness” in his State of the Union address on February 5, 2019.
“Members of Congress, the State of our Union is strong,” President Trump said as members of Congress chanted “USA! USA!”

“That sounds so good,” President Trump noted.
America is on a roll, and the only thing that can stop it is foolish wars, politics, and partisan investigations.
“We must reject the politics of revenge” and work for the “common good,” President Trump said.
“Together we can break decades of political stalemate, we can…build new coalitions.”
“The decision is ours to make. We must choose between greatness or gridlock…vision or vengeance, incredible progress or pointless destruction. Tonight I ask you to choose greatness.”
“We are just getting started.”
“Wages are rising at the fastest pace in decades, and growing for blue-collar workers.”
“Nearly 5 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps.”
“We are considered far and away the hottest economy anywhere in the world. Not even close. Unemployment has reached the lowest rate in nearly half a century.”
“African-American unemployment, Hispanic-American unemployment, and Asian-American unemployment have all reached their lowest levels ever recorded. Unemployment for people with disabilities has also reached an all-time low. More people are working now than at any time in the history of our country. 157 million people at work.”

President Trump focused on Christians’ ability to get off drugs. President Trump highlighted the story of Matthew Charles, the first man to be released from prison in accordance with President Trump’s First Step Act.
Relatedly, President Trump vowed to put the drug cartels out of business. Troops are at the border to meet the caravans. “This is a moral issue. The lawless state of our southern border is a threat…to all Americans,” Trump said.
Democrats live behind walls. Why can’t our country?
“Simply put: Walls work, and walls save lives,” President Trump said.
Women in the Democrat caucus gave a rousing ovation for Trump’s announcement that there are more women in the workforce than ever before. “You weren’t supposed to do that!,” the president joked. “Don’t sit yet, you’re going to like this! We now have more women serving in Congress than ever before.”
“USA! USA! USA!” Congress chanted.
“That’s great,” President Trump said.
President Trump demanded Congress pass a bill “to ban the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb.”
“We were born free, and we will stay free,” President Donald Trump vowed.
“America will never be a socialist country.”
“Great nations do not fight endless wars.”
“Our most thrilling achievements are still ahead.”
“Our biggest victories are still to come.”
“We do the incredible. We defy the impossible. We conquer the unknown. This is the time to re-ignite the American imagination.”

DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSWOMAN TELLS BLACK TEEN CONSERVATIVE: “BE AFRAID OF US”
Nydia Velázquez in bizarre threat
Democratic Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez appeared to threaten black teen conservative CJ Pearson during a Twitter exchange when Velázquez told the 16-year-old, “be afraid of us”.
The spat began when Pearson remarked that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared to be constantly talking throughout Trump’s State of the Union speech while “the woman next to her keeps trying to look the other way.”
Velázquez responded aggressively, tweeting, “Hi @TheCJPearson, I’m not “the woman sitting next to her”. @AOC and I — and millions like us — are the future of this country. And you’re right to be afraid of us. But you should learn my name.”
Pearson hit back, tweeting, “I’m sorry, Congresswoman, but as @realDonaldTrump said – socialism will NOT be the future of this country. And Nydia, nothing about you nor @AOC scares me. It’s your policies- that jeopardize the stability of our nation and the future of my generation- that scare me.”
Velázquez’s remarks were particularly unsavory following the left’s demonization campaign against the Covington high school students, which prompted threats of violence and doxxing.
“Once she realized she’d more or less threatened a black teenager on Twitter, she either a) called an emergency crisis management session of her staff; or b) shrugged and figured the media would cover for her and it was nothing to worry about,” remarked Dan Calabrese.
“B is probably right because neither minorities nor minors get any deference from the MSM if they’re conservative.”
Pearson had the last laugh.
Atlantic Writer Jemele Hill Called for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Lead Plot to Assassinate Trump During SOTU Address

Atlantic staff writer Jemele Hill, formerly with ESPN, tweeted a call for President Trump to be assassinated at the State of the Union address before a Joint Session of Congress Tuesday night in a plot led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
The tweet has since been deleted, but not before it was reported by conservative-leaning media outlets like the Resurgent, Breitbart, Free Beacon, Newsbusters and Twitchy. Mediaite was the lone non-conservative site to also cover Hill’s assassination plot tweet, as of publication of this article. Other news outlets have ignored this assassination call by a prominent member of the media.
Ocasio-Cortez has not apparently commented on Hill’s call for her to lead an assassination plot against President Trump.
Hill wrote, “Nah, she gotta yell: GETCHO HAND OUT MY POCKET”, a direct reference to the assassination plot that killed Malcolm X in 1965 in which a man yelled that out to distract security guards who left Malcolm X when they went to investigate the yelling. The unprotected Malcolm X was then killed by three men in a hail of gunfire.
Hill was replying to a comment by Showtime’s Desus Nice during Trump’s speech for Ocasio-Cortez to yell out a trolling, “whose mans is this”.

Congressional Democrats did not have a good time during President Trump’s State of the Union address, and the internet took notice.
Memes from all angles surfaced online following Tuesday night’s address, ranging from the Democrats’ sullen and angry expressions to the freshman class’s white outfits.
At one point, Trump declared that “America will never become a socialist country,” eliciting a red-faced scowl from socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
Though they refused to clap for WWII heroes, cancer survivors, human trafficking arrests, astronauts, or victims of illegal immigration, they did manage to celebrate their own election victory as Trump acknowledged the historic number of women in Congress.

AG Becerra claims pathway to border wall would be illegal
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra on Tuesday warned that he is prepared to challenge President Trump in court should he declare a national emergency to fund the border wall.
Becerra’s remarks came during a nationally televised address as part of the Democrats’ Spanish-language response to Trump’s State of the Union address. He condemned Trump’s characterization of immigration, the partial government shutdown over the wall and the president’s threat to cut federal funding to the state’s communities devastated by wildfires, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Democrats drool over Nancy Pelosi’s ‘f**k you’ clap during Trump’s State of the Union speech
The State of the Union address was supposed to showcase President Donald Trump’s statesmanship but, according to social media, the real star of the show was Nancy Pelosi, whose sarcastic antics made her the night’s MVP #resistor.
During his 80-minute speech, Trump appealed to Americans of all ideological stripes to find common ground and embrace compromise – a message that arguably clashes with the president’s habit of roasting his political opponents on Twitter.
After Trump called on the country to “embrace the boundless potential of cooperation, compromise and the common good,” Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, sitting behind the president, fired off a few sarcasm-dipped golf claps. The acerbic salute caused a sensation on social media, with photos of Trump and Pelosi locking eyes as she offers her feigned applause being hailed as epoch-defining treasures.
Comedian Patton Oswalt dubbed the gesture the “f**k you” clap, while others praised the House leader as a model #resistor.
Most critically, the photo’s meme potential was not overlooked.
However, Pelosi had more Twitter-shattering tricks up her sleeve. After Trump began boasting about Washington’s draconian sanctions against Iran, Pelosi was spotted flipping through what many believe was a copy of the president’s speech. Had Trump intentionally omitted his Iran-bashing from the printed transcript he gave to the Democrats, or was Pelosi just bored stiff?
The Twitterverse, of course, put forward a number of colorful theories about the speaker’s paper shuffling.
“I see Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s strategy tonight: Read the paper copy of Trump’s script when you know you can’t hold your poker face,” joked CNN producer Jason K. Morrell.
