Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) interrupted and shut down Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) after she “slandered”Attorney General Bill Barr during his Wednesday hearing.
“Do you think it’s okay for a president to offer pardons to people who don’t testify against him, to threaten the family of someone who does?” Hirono asked. “Is that okay?”
“When did he offer a pardon to somebody?” Barr asked.
“I think you know what I’m talking about,” Hirono arrogantly said. “Please, Mr. Attorney General. Give us some credit for knowing what the hell’s going on around here.”
“Not really,” Graham interrupted. “To this line of questioning. Listen, you slandered this man!”
“Mr. Chairman, I am done!” Hirono whiffed.
“You slandered this man from top to bottom!” Graham continued. “If you want more of this, you’re not going to get it. If you want to ask some questions, you can.”
“You certainly have your opinion,” Hirono smarted off. “And I have mine.”
Demonstrators marching in Paris to mark International Workers’ Day have been met with tear gas, images from the French capital show, with reports of over 350 people detained.
The procession was scheduled to start at 2:30pm local time but clashes have already erupted between riot police and protesters who have turned out in their thousands. Huge plumes of smoke can be seen rising from tear gas canisters or smoke grenades along the protest route.
Some 380 protestors were arrested on Wednesday and more than 17,700“preventive checks” carried out by police, according to French reports.
Meanwhile, France Info reports that a group of between 200 and 300 protesters tried to break into a police station in Besançon, eastern France. Local authorities said efforts were made to break into the station via the car park behind the building, but were repelled by police using tear gas.
In Paris, protesters in some parts of the city have begun erecting barricades to block the advance of charging riot police. According to the latest media reports, 14 police officers sustained injuries.
Journalists at the scene reported seeing protesters throwing projectiles at police, who continued to charge the crowd and fire gas canisters. Several protesters and at least one policemen have reportedly been injured in the clashes.
Demonstrators including Yellow Vest protesters, labor unions, pensioners, and students are marching through the streets of Paris to celebrate International Workers’ Day. Each year, May 1 is marked by large demonstrations of workers and labor activists who organize marches to campaign for improved working conditions and other social issues.
Attorney General William Barr told Sen. John Cornyn that “I can’t fathom” why the Obama administration did not tell the Trump campaign about the FBI investigation into Russian interference in 2016 during his hearing on the Mueller Report before the Senate Judiciary Committee on 5/1/19. Rep. Ilhan Omar asserted “This is not going to be the country of white people” during a rally in DC yesterday.
“At this moment, the occupant of the White House and his allies are doing everything that they can to distance themselves and misinform the public from the monsters that they created that is [sic] terrorizing the Jewish community and the Muslim community,” the Congresswoman told the crowd, suggesting that the recent synagogue shootings were Trump’s fault despite both shooters explicitly expressing their opposition to Trump.
Omar went on to emphasize that she was a “refugee” and an “immigrant” from Somalia, which she said Trump would call a ‘shithole country’.
And who could argue with her? With its rampant violence, corruption and oppression of women, Somalia is an ideal destination, which is presumably why its tourist industry is thriving.
Asserting that America “was founded on the history of Native American genocide, on the backs of black slaves,” she went on to brazenly state, “This is not going to be the country of white people.”
Imagine if a white Republican had made a speech in which he or she asserted, “This is not going to be the country of black people.”
Their political career would be finished and their reputation would tainted for the rest of their life.
But since the last acceptable form of racism is racism against white people, Omar’s statement is a mere footnote.
Omar is still whining about Trump drawing attention to her absurd statement that 9/11 was “some people (who) did something” as if she is the victim.
For weeks, the media has helped Omar push the narrative that criticism of her is tantamount to inciting violence and far worse than her original ludicrous statement.
During the rally, her supporters chanted “hands off Ilhan,” attempting to further the idea that she should be immune from criticism just because she wears and Islamic headscarf and claims victimhood.
When she went out to meet the police car in her pajamas Noor reached over his partner and shot her dead.
Mohamed was the first Somali officer in his precinct.
Damond was shot and killed while wearing her pajamas and speaking to another police officer. Damond called 911 that night to report a possible assault in an alley behind her home on July 15, reports The Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
On Tuesday Mohamed Noor was found guilty of third degree murder of Justine Damond (Ruszczyk). CNN reported:
Former Minneapolis Police Officer Mohamed Noor was found guilty Tuesday of third-degree murder and manslaughter for fatally shooting Justine Ruszczyk while responding to her 911 call.
The jury of ten men and two women acquitted Noor on an additional count of second-degree murder in the killing.
Noor, a 33-year-old Somali-American, is believed to be the first police officer to be convicted of murder in Minnesota in recent memory, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said.
Noor sat quietly with his hands clasped as the verdict was read. He was immediately taken into custody and led of the courtroom in handcuffs.
New data was gathered and released by both the Federal Statistical Office and the State Secretariat for Migration and shows that the 4,000 or so Somalis in Switzerland are by far the most prone to being on government benefits with 83.7 percent relying on state income,Breitbartreports.
*
While Somalis are by far and wide the largest recipients of welfare, several other nationalities also have rates of over 50 percent, such as Eritreans at 54.7 percent and Angolans at 54 per cent.
*
The statistics greatly contrast with the number of Swiss nationals on welfare, at a mere 2.3 percent of the population – although Japanese nationals were the lowest of all at only 0.6 per cent.

Damian Müller of the Swiss Liberals (FDP) said that the figures show that both far too many asylum seekers not qualified for asylum were living on state handouts and that not enough was being done to integrate those with refugee status into the Swiss economy.
*
“Integration is not a one-way street”, he insisted, adding, “refugees are [also]responsible.”

Backer Gobdon of the Somali Diaspora association attributed some of the blame for the high rates of welfare in the Somali community to the average family size, saying, “For example, they work in the hospitality industry, where wages are low. A family that has seven children, for example, cannot live on it.”
