Geragos recently represented former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick in his lawsuit against the professional football league.
The report comes as police are seeking to re-question Smollett amid allegations that he staged the attack with the brothers — Abimbola “Abel” and Olabinjo “Ola” Osundairo — who were extras on Empire. According to CBS Chicago’s Charlie De Mar, Smollett directed one of the brothers to purchase the rope which was used in the alleged staged attack at the Crafty Beaver hardware store. De Mar also said Smollett paid the brothers $3,500 and promised an additional $500 later.
Smollett told police that two masked individuals had sprayed him with an unknown chemical substance as they hurled racist and anti-gay insults at him on January 29. The actor also claimed that his attackers had looped a thin rope around his neck and screamed “This is MAGA country!” before darting from the area.
Meanwhile, the Fox Broadcasting Company, the network behind Empire, said in a statement Wednesday that Smollett is a “consulate profession” who will remain a regular on the show.
Not only is Smollett believed to have staged the assault, but may also be behind a threatening letter sent to him on the set of Empire.
Chicago’s local CBS affiliate, WBBM Channel 2, reported Tuesday evening that the actor “orchestrated” the assault after the letter failed to garner an adequate reaction.
FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service officials are currently probing whether he played a role in the letter’s January 22 delivery. The letter, which contained powered aspirin and the phrase “Die black fag,” is undergoing analysis at an FBI crime lab, ABC News reported.
In a statement to ABC News, Smollett’s lawyers said their client was “angered” and “further victimized” by claims that staged his own attack.
“As a victim of a hate crime who has cooperated with the police investigation, Jussie Smollett is angered and devastated by recent reports that the perpetrators are individuals he is familiar with,” Smollett’s lawyers, Todd Pugh and Victor Henderson, said. “He has now been further victimized by claims attributed to these alleged perpetrators that Jussie played a role in his own attack. Nothing is further from the truth and anyone claiming otherwise is lying.”
“One of these purported suspects was Jussie’s personal trainer who he hired to ready him physically for a music video,” the statement continued. “It is impossible to believe that this person could have played a role in the crime against Jussie or would falsely claim Jussie’s complicity.”

The story received unending press. The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), tweeted, “The racist, homophobic attack on [Smollett] is an affront to our humanity.” Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) called it a “modern-day lynching.” Congresswoman and Fresh Face™ of the Democratic Party Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed anyone who questioned the story, tweeting, “The attack was not ‘possibly’ homophobic. It was a racist and homophobic attack.”
The media ran with the story. Good Morning America hosted Smollett, where he maligned anyone who asked questions as a racist and a homophobe. CNN’s Brooke Baldwin stated, “This is America in 2019.” Celebrities parroted their support for Smollett, with many blaming President Trump and Vice President Pence for the attack.
The story was a hoax.
That same night, a Jewish man in New York was beaten by three thugs. Nothing was stolen. The attack was caught on video.
This isn’t the only story of anti-Semitism in New York. Not by a long shot. Two weeks before that beating, a Jewish man, 19, was “violently assaulted” as he walked past a local laundromat by a group of teenage black males. In December, a 16-year-old Jewish teen spent a week in a hospital after being beaten by two other teens; witnesses said that the teens screamed “Kill the Jew.” The NYPD categorized the attack as “gang related” rather than a hate crime, angering Jews in the area. This weekend, vandals shattered the window of a Chabad in Bushwick as the rabbi and his family slept inside.
In fact, according to NBC New York, “The city has seen a sharp increase in reported hate crimes so far in 2019, the NYPD said. Police had investigated 42 hate crimes through Feb. 4, compared with 19 at the same point last year. Most of those were anti-Semitic.” The New York Times reported in October of last year that “there have been four times as many crimes motivated by bias against Jews — 142 in all — as there have against blacks. Hate crimes against Jews have outnumbered hate crimes targeted at transgender people by a factor of 20.”
None of this has received media attention comparable to the Smollett situation. Why? Because, as the Times also admitted in October, “anti-Semitism bypasses consideration as a serious problem in New York … because it refuses to conform to an easy narrative with a single ideological enemy.” In other words, it doesn’t fit the narrative.
Indeed, the narrative the Left wishes to push is that America is deeply discriminatory and bigoted, rife with hate. But by statistics, Jews are by far the most likely group to be targeted in America on a per capita basis. This is a problem for the intersectionality-oriented Left, which sees Jews not as victims but as part of the power hierarchy in the United States. How can the Left uphold its hierarchy of victimhood if Jews are the chief targets of hate crime – and furthermore, if such hate crime is largely perpetrated by non-white supremacists, people who supposedly lie higher on the victim hierarchy than Jews?
Furthermore, Jews are inordinately successful and well-treated in the United States; outside of Israel, there is no more philo-Semitic country on earth. So if Jews, the most statistically victimized group in America, aren’t particularly victimized, what does that say about the narrative of America as racist, bigotry-ridden hellhole?
The United States is an amazing place. But the media and much of the Left don’t like that narrative. That’s why they cover Jussie Smollett. And that’s why they won’t cover Jews being attacked on the streets of New York.

It was -15 to -30 degrees wind chill on Tuesday morning.

Smollett said the mysterious MAGA men poured bleach on his head but bleach freezes at 18 degrees.
The weather on Tuesday was a low of -9 degrees.
Frozen bleach will not pour.
On Saturday Smollet admitted his rib was not broken.
This was complete crap – just like the rest of the story.

And Jussie was carrying his Subway sandwich when he arrived home — he saved it during the alleged assault!
The Associated Press reported that police had released images of “persons of interest” from surveillance camerafootage, but were unable to find footage of Smollett being attacked.
Jussie Smollett’s neighbors say they doubt his assault story.
On Wednesday Rafer Weigel reported the Chicago police will re-interview actor Jussie Smollett over his redacted phone records.
But Jussie continues to speak out on the alleged late night assault.
On Good Morning America Jussie Smollett accused his doubters of being racist Islamophobes.
“I have to acknowledge the lies, and the hate,” he told “Good Morning America” in an interview with host Robin Roberts that aired on Thursday. “And it feels like if I had said it was a Muslim, or a Mexican, or someone black, I feel like the doubters would have supported me much more. A lot more. And that says a lot about the place that we are in our country right now.”
Police said they will press charges if they discover Jussie lied about the alleged attack.
It can’t come soon enough.

Patriots safety Duron Harmon told TMZ Sunday night that he will not be going to the White House to attend the traditional Super Bowl victory visit with his teammates where the team would be honored in a ceremony by President Trump.
“Nah man. They don’t want me in the White House, man” Harmon said.
The TMZ reporter then brought up the Golden State Warriors who recently went to visit Obama after their win.
“Hey man, that would be dope, man” Harmon said of meeting with Obama rather than going to Trump’s White House.
“Hey Obama, man, come holler at me, man! We love you over here, man!” Harmon added.
Barack Obama did absolutely nothing to help the black community during his 8 years in the White House. Black unemployment was at an all time high, black home-ownership was at a record low, but Duron Harmon just loves Obama!
In contrast, under President Trump, black unemployment is at a record low,but Orange Man bad.

Let’s take a look at some of these walls:
Obamas
President Trump approves of the Obama family’s wall in the nation’s capital, which they utilize while Obama engages in shadow diplomacy and other Operation Crossfire Hurricane-related skullduggery to try to damage his successor. It would be nice, however, if Democrats would also give the American people a wall for their protection.
Trending: CONFIRMED: The Government CAN Build The Wall With Brian Kolfage’s GoFundMe Money
Here is a 2017 TMZ photo showing the construction of the Obama Wall:

Paul Ryan
Outgoing House speaker Paul Ryan did not have to worry about his security while he was helping Democrats take the House in the 2018 midterm elections, because his house is appropriately walled off from the mouth-breathers with their populist politics that he so despises. The House eventually did pass Wall funding in Ryan’s last days in office, which no doubt made him grit his teeth after he spent his speakership fighting Trump’s agenda.
The White House’s Julia Hahn caught Ryan in hypocrisy in 2015 when she photographed the seemingly-impenetrable barrier outside of Paul Ryan’s mansion.

Katy Perry
Popular music singer Katy Perry is an advocate for “no barriers,” but she did not seem to mind when one of her immigrant fans got deported for rushing the stage at her concert.
Here are two photographs of the beautiful wall that protects Katy Perry’s property. What magnificent construction on that wall!

Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton has a very tastefully-constructed wall around her Chappaqua, New York compound, where she engaged in the email crimes that sank her 2016 bid for the presidency. Hillary’s wall is festooned with cameras and other security measures to protect the former First Lady from anyone who might wish to do her harm.
It’s nice that Hillary is enjoying the benefits of her wall, which less-fortunate Americans do not get to enjoy. Many Americans, especially in our border states, are basically sitting ducks for the criminal cartels who easily traverse our Southern border to pump heroin into the country and spread a cloud of criminality and violence that would not exist in this country if President Trump gets the chance to build his border Wall.

The video, shot last January and obtained by TMZ, shows the star running back engaged in a heated confrontation with other patrons in a Kansas City nightclub. A police report obtained by the same outlet states that former NFL running back George Atkinson, along with others including Hunt, became involved in a violent incident with another man.
The man would later claim that he became involved in the confrontation when Atkinson pushed a friend of his, later telling police that he was treated in a Kansas City-area hospital for a broken rib, a broken nose and numerous contusions.
TMZ reports that Atkinson didn’t pursue charges against Atkinson or Hunt. The woman who was pushed and kicked by Hunt in the video which caused the player’s release from the Chiefs organization also did not press charges.
Hunt was also reported as having punched a man in a separate incident in Ohio in June of this year and, much like the other incidents, he also did not pursue police involvement.
Hunt, who was a central figure to Kansas City’s push for the Super Bowl this season, was released from the franchise after officials determined that he had not been truthful with them in their initial investigations into the January assault.
He was subsequently placed on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s Exempt List, meaning that he is not currently permitted to play, train or even attend NFL games. The full extent of Hunt’s punishment is not yet clear but he passed Monday’s waiver deadline, meaning that none of the remaining 31 NFL teams opted to claim his services.
In his first public comments since his release last week, Hunt told ESPN that he believes he deserved to be forgiven for his role in the January incident.
“I’m asking for forgiveness and I definitely believe I deserve forgiveness,” Hunt told ESPN. “Everything is really happening fast right now, and I just want everybody to forgive me.
“I know it’s going to be hard. I made a bad choice and I’m not going to let this bring me down.”

In the video, Hunt can be seen having an argument with a young woman in the hallway outside of his hotel room. The incident occurred at 3:22 in the morning, on February 18, 2018. Which means the incident occurred only two weeks after the Super Bowl and well before the start of the current NFL season.
Despite that, the NFL elected to not suspend Hunt for the attack.
According to TMZ:
Hunt turns a corner and confronts the woman, shoving her hard. The woman strikes him back in the face … and that’s when Hunt goes berserk.
As friends try to hold him back, the 2017 Pro Bowler — who led the league in rushing yards — explodes and knocks one of his friends into the woman … who both go flying into a wall.
Both Kareem’s male friend and the woman appear dazed — but Kareem makes his way over to the female and kicks her while she’s crouching on the ground … knocking her over.
Police took the video into evidence, but did not arrest Hunt. Because, they were unable to determine if a crime had actually occurred.
“At the time of the incident, the woman told police the whole thing started because Kareem kicked her out of his room after she refused to hook up with one of the men in Kareem’s entourage,” TMZ reports.
However, Hunt’s entourage claims that the woman became irate when asked to leave the hotel room, and then called the Chiefs running back the n-word.
The NFL has not responded to TMZ’s request for comment.

“Law enforcement sources say Avenatti was arrested Wednesday after his estranged wife filed a felony DV report. We’re told her face was “swollen and bruised,” reports TMZ.
The woman ran out of an apartment building screaming, “I can’t believe you did this to me,” according to eyewitnesses.
Avenatti showed up 5 minutes later saying, “She hit me first….this is bullshit, this is fucking bullshit,” according to the report.
According to law enforcement sources, Avenatti “kicked her out of the apartment” and that’s when the alleged domestic violence occurred.
Avenatti was subsequently arrested and is currently in custody.

A study by the Washington Free Beacon found that Avenatti had appeared on CNN and MSNBC a combined total of 108 times since March. He has also been given a platform by NBC’s “Megyn Kelly Today” and “Today,” ABC’s “The View” and “Good Morning America,” HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” and CBS’s “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “60 Minutes.”
The combined value of all Avenatti’s “earned media” amounts to $174,631,598.07 according to the study.
The lawyer for Stormy Daniels and Brett Kavanaugh accuser Julie Swetnick was also pictured partying with CNN employees earlier this year.
