Students at a school in Vienna, Austria have been barred from leaving the building after one of their instructors was flagged as potentially carrying the deadly coronavirus, currently spreading across the globe.
No one is allowed to leave or enter the Albertgasse high school, located in Vienna’s inner-city neighborhood of Josefstadt, police said in a Twitter message posted on Wednesday. Officers also denied rumors that the school had been evacuated. Streets around the school have been closed to the public.
The precautionary measures were taken after a teacher returned from a trip to Northern Italy, which has seen more than 300 cases of coronavirus in recent days. The teacher and students are currently undergoing screening for the deadly virus, according to Austrian media reports.
Students at the school were reportedly seen looking out windows and shouting. They have been allowed to communicate with their parents by telephone. If one or more results do come back positive, the school could potentially face quarantine, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said.
The lockdown coincided with the quarantine of 12 people in Austria who were in close contact with a couple identified as the country’s first coronavirus cases.
Originating in Wuhan, China late last year, the illness has infected at least 80,000 people worldwide — the vast majority in mainland China. Now present in nearly 30 countries, the virus has become a major health concern in Italy, which has seen over 320 cases and 11 deaths.
Austria’s largest newspaper has received an unexpected response after its columnist claimed that the term “population replacement” was not appropriate for the Alpine land. Hundreds of people said it is the reality they live in.
Austria’s Kronen Zeitung daily has admitted that it received“hundreds”of letters from its readers in just over a week, after they said they felt like foreigners in their own homeland because of mass immigration.
The strong response was provoked by the paper’s columnist, Conny Bischofberger. In an interview with Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache, she called the notion of “population replacement” a concept used by “far-right extremists.”
The term, which describes the gradual replacement of a native population by immigrants, is popular among those on the far-right. They use it to portray growing ethnic and religious diversity as a result of some deliberate malicious actions taken by “anti-popular forces.”
After she was confronted by people asking why they should not use the term, Bischofberger dismissed it in an explanatory piece as a conspiracy theory and a mere “feeling” that “may or may not correspond with the real general demographic developments.”However, she apparently failed to strike a chord with Kronen Zeitung readers, who sought to explain that this was a reality they have been living with for years.
On the streets, on public transport and in the municipal buildings: We feel alien at home.
“We were a happy household until 10 years ago. Then everything collapsed like a house of cards,” one person wrote to the newspaper.
“The mood in our condominium has deteriorated so much that we (65 and 68) are ready to move away to finally be able to live in peace again,” another couple wrote.
“Foreign-language parents with their children do not bother to speak our language… It’s sad, but one doesn’t feel well anymore,” another message read.
In our elementary school, no more excursions are conducted out of consideration for foreign languages, the diet is adapted to religious wishes and the violence of the foreign elementary school boys is frightening.
After receiving hundreds of similar messages, Bischofberger still insisted that, for many people, the notion of “population replacement” came in handy as it allowed them “not to think about the problem behind” mass immigration. However, she also admitted that “it would be cheap to defame all those people, who wrote to the Kronen Zeitung, as xenophobes, racists or far-right extremists.”
Those people were apparently asked “to accept too much migration” and did not receive enough attention from the authorities, the columnist said.
Austria took in one of the largest numbers of asylum seekers per capita during the refugee crisis. Some 150,000 people were accepted by the Alpine land since 2015 – which accounts for over one percent of its total population. Such developments gave rise to widespread anti-immigrant sentiment and brought a conservative coalition to power, which adopted a strict stance on migration.
Foreigners constitute 15.8 percent of the Austrian population, and 29.6 percent in the capital, Vienna, according to a 2018 survey. In February, a former MP from the conservative Austrian People’s Party, Marcus Franz, sparked a heated discussion on social media by saying that Austrian-born girls wear headscarves to prevent assaults from migrants on the streets of Vienna.

Doctor and former MP Marcus Franz says white girls in Vienna, Austria have begun wearing Islamic headscarves to prevent street harassment by male Muslim migrants.
During an appearance on OE24, Franz revealed that in migrant-heavy areas fathers were telling their daughters to wear hijabs so as to disguise the fact that they are non-Muslim.
“Speak with women on the street, speak with children, speak with young girls, I myself know fathers who, when their daughters who are coming home in the evening, when they live in a problem area, give them headscarves so they won’t be recognized as Austrians,” said Franz.
“I know this personally, in the 15th district (Vienna), this is a fact,” he added, saying that women were afraid because of “permanent micro-aggressions” and being sexually propositioned by Muslim men.

He added that the girls were being “propositioned with unpleasant aggression and attitudes, and the girls and women, quite simply, are afraid.”
“You can see it in the population if you work in a social profession like me,” remarked Franz, adding, “We need to distinguish clearly between the settled population and those who have arrived more recently.”
The story bears some similarities to how some German girls in migrant-heavy schools are also wearing hijabs to prevent bullying.
As we previously reported, a mother in Germany whose daughter was being bullied by Muslim students because she was blonde, Christian and didn’t wear a headscarf was told by the headmaster of a school in Frankfurt to cover her up with a hijab.
The mother of the student told BILD that her daughter was being bullied by Muslim girls to such a degree that she had to “take them out of school for protection.”
“She was beaten and verbally attacked on the way to school,” said the mother, explaining that abuse was because her daughter has blonde hair, doesn’t wear a headscarf, has a German-Hebrew name and is a Christian.
When the headmaster was informed of the situation, he advised the mother to cover up her daughter with a hijab.
“Your daughter does not have to say that she is German. Besides, you can give her a headscarf!” she was told.
Interviewed by Echo TV, British author and journalist Douglas Murray warned again about the future of European civilization.
“I think that our future is at risk. It is obvious, and this process has been going on for a very long time, and it just sped up in recent years.
“And, I think it has come about more in the absence of mind, in the absence of preparedness, than as a part of a bigger plan. Our civilisation is at great risk,” the author of The Strange Death of Europe said.
Douglas says that although a lot of writers disagree with his conclusions about Europe’s future, it’s his task to write the truth.
“My view is that the general public is like me. They are able to see things with their own eyes. They do not need to be told what they should be seeing, because they open their eyes and they can see.
“There are some people who would like to stop that and they would like us to not see things. Nevertheless, I think that the general public and I are able to say honestly what we see,” he says.
According to Douglas, Western Europe made a “colossal mistake” by inviting guest labourers since the 1950s.
“Since the 1950s, Western European countries, from Germany to other places, have been inviting guest laborers in order to rebuild their societies after the Second World War. In my book I show that they did not fully understand this process.
“For example, in her 2010 Potsdam speech, Angela Merkel said that they had thought that the guest laborers would eventually go home.
“Now, I have to say that it is very unlikely that a person who came from a very poor country would return to his or her country of origin after having experienced life in a rich country. As I said, even Angela Merkel admitted that they were wrong to believe that, and Western European societies had to catch up in this regard.
“For example, they had to face that entire families would immigrate and that a chain of migration would start.”

Swedish police are investigating a slew of arson attacks over the last two nights as cars and taxis were torched across Malmö.
“A total of eleven cars were damaged in a fire on Solröksgatan during the night,” police say in a report. “Five of the cars are expected to be completely destroyed. Initially there was a risk of spreading to a nearby garage, but the rescue service was able to prevent spreading.”
“There is currently no natural cause for car fires. The place is locked down pending a technical examination. A preliminary investigation has begun on gross fire damage. There is currently no arrest or detention in the case.”
The latest fires come after five vehicles associated with taxi companies were set ablaze the night before, according to Intelligence Fusion.
Swedish media outlet Fria Tider confirms that there have been consecutive nights of arson attacks in Malmö.

Malmö was the scene of multiple detonations and a shooting at a medical facility in the span of just 12 hours last week, as Infowars Europe reported.

After days of crisis over the UN Migration Pact, the Belgian government has broken up. Essence of the split is the Prime Minister’s trip to the UN Migration Conference in Morocco.
For several days, Belgium’s largest party, the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) said it could not agree with Belgium signing the pact.
The N-VA opposes numerous proposals of the UN’s Migration Pact. Among other things, the pact does not make a distinction between legal and illegal migrant and sees migration purely as a positive phenomenon.
The party announced it would leave the coalition if the Prime Minister would go to Morocco to sign the pact.
Prime Minister Charles Michel did not change his plans and was forced to replace several N-VA minister in his government, which will now continue as a minority government.
On Facebook 1,200 people seem to agree with a comment that says the Prime Minister is a traitor [for signing the pact]. Other users are worried about the future of their children and say democracy is dead.
People also say they should start protesting and make the yellow vests movement in Belgium larger.
In the span of 12 hours, police in Malmö, Sweden, investigated two explosions and a shooting in a hospital, according to incident reports and local media.
A “powerful” late-night blast destroyed parts of a shop near Rosengård, one of Malmö’s most infamous ‘no-go zones,’according to police.
“Heavy detonation broke down a whole store Malmö,”Fria Tider reported. “The entire entrance to the shop has been lost and the damage is extensive.”
Hours earlier, law enforcement were called to an explosion at a multi-family home on the north side of the city.
The residence was temporarily cordoned off while forensics inspectors attempted to determine the cause of the detonation.Additionally, a hospital complex was placed on lock down after reports of a shooting on site.
“The caller said that shots were fired in connection to a riot on Ruth Lundskog’s street,” police say.
No suspects could be located on the scene, but police indicate they found evidence corroborating claims that shots had been fired.
Infowars Europe recently reported on Swedish officials calling for armed guards to be stationed in emergency rooms to tackle the “new reality” of increasing violence at hospitals.

“Malmo is infamous for explosions. Yet thankfully nobody has been killed by the explosions yet – some of them are just used to frighten people,” former Chief Superintendent Torsten Elofsson told Breitbart upon retiring after 42 years on the Malmö police force.
“We had one case in Rosengard where a group were given a court order to leave an apartment because they were a disturbance for the neighbors. And then suddenly hand grenades and explosions outside the office of the real estate company.”
Malmö was rocked by a series of explosions in early 2018, including a TNT attacktargeting a police station in Rosengård.
