Shootings Surge, Murders up over 100 Percent as Protesters Flood NYC

Shootings surged and murders were up over 100 percent in New York City last week as protesters flooded the streets, along with rioters who shattered windows and destroyed property.
The New York Post reports there were 13 murders from Monday, June 1, 2020, to Sunday night, June 7, 2020. There were five murders during that same time period in 2019.
Moreover, there were 40 shootings in NYC from June 1 to June 7, 2020. In 2019 “there were 24 shootings.”
The Post reported, “The increase in violence came as demonstrators marched city streets to protest the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.”
The paper described the majority of protests as “peaceful,” but noted peaceful protesters were, at times, “overshadowed by looting and the destruction of stores in several boroughs.”
On June 9, 2020, Breitbart News reported Los Angeles witnessed a 250 percent surge in murders and a 56 percent increase in shooting victims during protest week.
The surge of violence in Los Angeles was mirrored by shootings and murders in other Democrat-controlled cities around the country.

A disabled veteran who was shot in the head by a left-wing protestor in Colorado is fighting for his life. Danny Pruitt, 49, is currently on life support at UCHealth Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
Pruitt was shot in an altercation with George Floyd protestors in Amalosa, Colorado last Thursday. Pruitt was confronted by a group of George Floyd protestors who were blocking a road in the city’s downtown. While proceeding down the road, a protestors retrieved a gun and shot into the passenger car window of Pruitt’s vehicle. Pruitt drove off, and his black truck was located by police about a mile down the road, with the driver being debilitated from a gunshot wound.
Police are saying there is no indication that Pruitt plowed through the crowd of protestors. Alamosa police Captain Joey Spangler confirmed that “I can say we have no evidence to show that he was driving into or through the protestors.”
The Amalosa Police Department arrested a suspect in the shooting that night, 27-year old James Marshall. In a remarkable twist, the accused has been identified as a defense attorney in the community. Marshall is being charged with several serious felonies for his role in the alleged shooting, including second degree attempted murder, first degree assault, reckless endangerment, and menacing.
The shooting was caught on video, and surveillance camera footage shows it to be a heinous, calculated act of violence.
One of Pruitt’s relatives has created a GoFundMe to pay for his medical expenses. She describes Danny as the loving single father a daughter and a disabled military veteran. The latest update on his medical condition suggests that surgeons have drained some of the fluid from his head from the shooting, but that Pruitt remains in critical condition and on life support.
The GoFundMe has raised more than $120,000, and Pruitt’s niece is hoping to recieve $150,000 to pay for her uncle’s medical expenses. The man, who appears to be a highly honorable and loved American father, has been largely ignored by the mainstream media, with no national news agencies reporting the brutal and potentially politically charged shooting.

MSNBC Host Rev. Al Sharpton Attacks President Trump at George Floyd Funeral: “Wickedness in high places” (Video)

MSNBC host and former Democratic Party presidential candidate Rev. Al Sharpton attacked President Trump at the the funeral for George Floyd held in Houston Tuesday. Sharpton berated Trump for the forced clearing out of protesters a block from the White House a week ago Monday before the President stood in front of a church set on fire by protesters the night before.
“You take rubber bullets & tear gas to clear out peaceful protesters & then take a Bible & walk in front of a Church & use a church as a prop. Wickedness in high places…”

Floyd died May 25 in Minneapolis while being arrested for allegedly passing a counterfeit twenty dollar bill at a store. Video of Floyd on the pavement by a police car repeatedly saying “I can’t breath” and calling out “Mama” while being restrained by now fired officer Derek Chauvin with a knee to his neck for almost nine minutes until he was dead sparked national outrage, protests and riots.
Chauvin and the other three officers involved in the arrest of Floyd have been charged in his death, with Chauvin charged with second degree murder and manslaughter.
President Trump has condemned the death in police custody of Floyd and ordered the Justice Department to investigate. Trump has also acted to quell the riots and looting in Washington, D.C. and across the country following the death of Floyd.
Trump’s show of support for St. John’s Church after it was burned by protesters has been criticized by Democrats and reporters for the use of force by police to clear out protesters from the area.

Chicago Mayor Now Pleading With Walmart And Other Companies Not To Leave The City

After the recent riots which saw multiple large stores looted, some retailers are having second thoughts about remaining in certain cities.
In Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot has been talking to these retailers and asking them not to leave the city.
Not only do these companies make it possible for residents to get the things they need, they pay tons of taxes which the city relies on.

Mayor Lightfoot said she’s hopeful major retailers will reopen the Chicago stores that were looted or otherwise damaged during protests surrounding George Floyd’s killing by police in Minnesota. But, she’s unsure of one of the biggest.
Mayor Lightfoot said she was on a conference call with Walmart and other major retailers that had stores looted or heavily damaged during the unrest in Chicago. She said she pleaded with them to not abandon Chicago.
“I think in the case of Walmart, what they were focused on was assessing the damage. They are doing an effort to donate fresh produce, to the extent of what’s left so it doesn’t perish, and other perishables, and they are taking their time, as I would expect.”
Who can blame these companies if they leave the cities?

Santa Cruz County Cop Killer Was a Committed Anti-Police Ideologue

A California man arrested in the killing of a Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy appears to have been a committed anti-police ideologue swept up into the national paranoia targeting law enforcement.
Steven Carillo, 32, was arrested for the killing of 32-year old Sgt. Damon Gutzwiller over the weekend. Carillo, a sergeant in the Air Force, became the subject of a police investigation when a community member in Ben Lomond, California, called 911 to report his presence in the community in a white van filled with both guns and explosive devices.
Law enforcement followed Carillo to his home, where the Air Force staff sergeant opened fire upon three police officers and detonated improvised explosives. At least two other officers were injured, with one California Highway Patrol Officer being shot in the hand.
Carillo was foiled in his plans to escape, but spoke openly of his motivations in opening fire on the police when he was being arrested. Video footage of his arrest detailed Carillo breaking down his anti-law enforcement manifesto.
“This is what I came here to fight. I’m sick of these goddamn police.” The disturbed man goes on to mention “use of force.”
Research into Carillo’s Facebook profile shows that the man subscribed to a left-libertarian, condemning “racist whites” and frequently ranting of his opposition to what he perceived as police abuses.
The FBI is currently investigating the possibility of Carillo’s involvement in the shooting murder of Federal Protective Services Officer Dave Patrick Underwood in Oakland. Underwood was killed on May 29th.
