Study Finds Rise In ‘Doomsday Prepping’ Due To Mainstream American ‘Culture Of Fear’

By John Anderer

CANTERBURY, England — “Doomsday prepping” or stockpiling food, medicine, weapons and other supplies in case of an apocalyptic scenario has long been considered peculiar behavior only exhibited by conspiracy theorists and other extremists in the United States. However, such prepping has actually been steadily on the rise in the U.S. over the past decade. So, what’s causing this surge in stockpiled rice packets and underground bunkers? One group of researchers say it is an ever growing sense of impending doom in American culture.

Many have speculated that this surge in doomsday preppers over the last 10 years was linked to an extreme political reaction among many conservatives to Barack Obama’s initial election in 2008, but a new study out of the United Kingdom finds that neither the Obama presidency nor extreme right-wing conspiracy theories in general are the main cause of this growing phenomenon.

Researchers interviewed preppers from 18 U.S. states and asked about their motivations for stockpiling food and supplies. The results indicated that, although most did seem to be conservative and fear liberal policies, the main reason behind their motivations was the overall sense of fear currently dominating U.S. culture across a variety of media channels. Most Americans can’t seem to log online or turn on the television without being hit by a grim view of the future being reported or speculated on.

Potential occurrences commonly worried about by preppers include possible economic depressions, terrorist attacks, cyber-attacks, pandemics, or environmental disasters.

Furthermore, researchers say that frequent recommendations from the U.S. government on how to prepare for potential disasters, such as when residents of certain communities are advised to stockpile water in preparation for a hurricane or blackout, have also contributed to the rising number of doomsday preppers in the United States.

The study’s authors say their findings paint a more nuanced picture of doomsday preppers and their motivations, especially since up until now most were simply considered crazy or delusional. According to their results, most preppers don’t believe the world will end tomorrow or a giant meteor will hit the earth at any moment, they simply want to be prepared for anything “just in case” something terrible happens.

Researchers note that while extreme right-wing ideologies don’t seem to be the main cause of these fears and preparations, the general idea among many conservatives that if a Democrat regains control of the White House it will inevitably lead to chaos remains very much connected to the phenomenon of doomsday preppers. At the end of the day, though, that is just another possible event for conservative preppers to fear, and not themain cause.

“Fear is now deeply entrenched in modern American culture and is the principal reason that so many citizens are engaging in ‘prepping’,” explains lead author Dr. Michael Mills in a release.

According to Mills, these preppers believe that if the worse were to happen, the government’s response simply wouldn’t be adequate and many people would be left to fend for themselves.

“Rather than seeing prepping as an exception within America’s right-wing political culture, we ought to see it as being reflective of increasingly established and popular outlooks,” Mills comments.

Illinois Leaders Warn Illegal Aliens of Possible ICE Raids

Government leaders in Illinois urged illegal aliens to know their rights after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were reportedly seen in a Chicago neighborhood on Thursday.

“If @ICEgov tries to intimidate you or your family, know your rights,” Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker tweeted. “The state of Illinois refuses to coordinate with federal immigration enforcement. I signed a law ensuring local law enforcement does the same. We’re doing all we can to protect our residents.”

Byron Sigcho-Lopez, 25th Ward alderman, tweeted that his office had received reports of ICE agents approaching businesses and homes in the Pilsen area.

“We’ve confirmed these reports with the National Immigrant Justice Center,” he said.

The reports come after ICE agents arrested 680 illegal aliens in Mississippi this week, the largest single-state raid in U.S. history, Breitbart News reported.

The individuals were arrested at seven food processing plants across six cities including Bay Springs, Carthage, Canton, Morton, Pelahatchie, and Sebastapol.

“According to federal officials, some of the hundreds of illegal aliens arrested on Wednesday have already been ordered deported by an immigration judge and have refused to self-deport. Those illegal aliens will be quickly deported,” the report said.

press release from the ICE website stated that the agency will investigate the individuals arrested on a case-by-case basis.

“In all cases, all the illegal aliens encountered as part of this operation are either being placed into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts, and for those who already received due process and have been ordered removed, processed for removal from the U.S.,” the release said.

However, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) called on President Trump during an interview Thursday to stop the raids, comparing them to the tactics of the Nazi secret police.

“I think it’s unfortunate when ICE has to be made into this kind of agency and to be an intimidator rather than an agency that has in the past made sure that we are safe in this nation,” she said.

“But when their neighbors are rounded up in a vile way, when children are left unprotected, I’m disappointed. And the president and Stephen Miller need to stop these Gestapo tactics, and we need to work together to pass comprehensive immigration reform,” Lee concluded.

WOW! Joe Scarborough and Liberal Cranks and Conspiracy Nuts Blame RUSSIA after Epstein is Found Dead in Prison Cell

By Jim Hoft – August 10, 2019

ABC 7 says he died by SUICIDE!

The 66-year-old financier was hospitalized in July after he was found unresponsive in what appeared to be a possible suicide attempt.

In July Epstein was found injured and in a fetal position inside his cell at a New York City jail,

He was reportedly put under suicide watch.

On Saturday he reportedly hanged himself.

This came the DAY AFTER several top Democrats including Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Governor Bill Richardson were implicated in unsealed Epstein court documents.

Within an hour #ClintonBodyCount was trending on Twitter.

But the liberal mainstream media is pushing another conspiracy.
IT WAS RUSSIA!!

‘Whatever happened to suicide watch?’ Suspicion reigns as Epstein’s secrets die with him

The death by apparent suicide of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein shocked few pundits. Given his previous attempt on his own life and powerful connections, how could Epstein have been left alone to kill himself?

Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell on Saturday morning, with law enforcement sources telling multiple media outlets his death was a suicide. The 66-year-old millionaire had been held in custody since his arrest last month on charges of child sex trafficking and conspiracy.

Puzzlingly, Epstein had supposedly been placed on suicide watch since he was found “injured and in a fetal position”in the cell two weeks ago, after a suspected hanging attempt. “Logistically speaking how does a person hang himself in solitary confinement under suicide watch?”asked conservative commentator Matt Walsh.

Adding to the conspiracy, one of Epstein’s alleged victims claimed to have been trafficked by the financier to a ‘who’s who’ of the world’s rich and powerful, including British Prince Andrew, billionaire investor Glenn Dublin, “another prince,” a “foreign president,” a “well-known prime minister,” and the owner of a French “large hotel chain.” The alleged victim’s testimony was unsealed on Friday, hours before Epstein’s suicide.

Even mainstream media talking heads and their followers saw conspiracy. Within an hour of the news breaking, “Clintons” and “#ClintonBodyCount” – referencing a decades-old conspiracy theory that Bill and Hillary Clinton are responsible for a string of suspicious suicides – were also trending on Twitter behind “Epstein.”

Predictably, there were a few die-hard #resistance members who managed to involve Russia, somehow.

For now, the case against Epstein goes with him to the grave. Epstein was the only defendant indicted, and would have faced 45 years in prison if found guilty.

Unsealed Documents: Former Top Clinton Official Allegedly Abused an Underage Girl

Virginia Giuffre accused former President Bill Clinton’s energy secretary of abusing her when she was underage.

By Shane Trejo

Documents are being released that are related to convicted sex predator and prominent Democratic Party donor Jeffrey Epstein’s illicit activities, and the initial revelations are already explosive.

Virginia Giuffre, a woman who claims she was kept captive and forced into sex slavery by Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell when she was a child, implicated former New Mexico Governor and Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson as one of the powerful men who victimized her.

Other men who she alleges abused her include former U.S. senator George Mitchell who once served as Bill Clinton’s Special Envoy for Northern Ireland, Prince Andrew of Great Britain, the late MIT scientist Marvin Minsky, influential financier Glenn Dubin, and modeling agency founder Jean-Luc Brunel. She also listed “another prince,” a “foreign president,” a “well-known prime minister,” and the French owner of a “large hotel chain” as unnamed men who preyed upon her.

In a series of depositions, Giuffre claimed that Maxwell sent her to Europe to give “massages” to powerful men.

“I was instructed by Ghislaine to go and give him an erotic massage,” Giuffre testified.

“She used the words erotic massage?” Maxwell’s lawyer Laura Menninger asked.

“No, that’s my word,” Giuffre replied. “The word ‘massage’ is what they would use. That’s their code word.”

She told Menninger about how she was sent as apart of Epstein’s child sex trafficking operation to Richardson, who served in the Clinton administration as energy secretary and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

“They instructed me to go to George Mitchell, Jean Luc Brunel, Bill Richardson, another prince that I don’t know his name. A guy that owns a hotel, a really large hotel chain, I can’t remember which hotel it was. Marvin Minksy,” she said.

Giuffre claims she was victimized by so many men that she could not possibly remember who they all were.

Menninger asked Giuffre: “Other than Glenn Dubin…Prince Andrew, Jean-Luc Brunel, Bill Richardson, another prince, the large hotel chain owner, and Marvin Minsky, is there anyone else that Ghislaine Maxwell directed you to go have sex with?”

“I am definitely sure there is,” Giuffre replied. “But can I remember everybody’s name? No…look I’ve given you what I know right now. I’m sorry. This is very hard for me and very frustrating to have to go over this. I don’t—I don’t recall all of the people. There was a large amount of people that I was sent to.”

Richardson was forced to return $50,000 in campaign donations from Epstein after he was convicted of sex crimes in 2007. Richardson has also been accused of illegally giving a woman $250,000 to keep quiet after being accused of sexual harassment, although a federal investigation ultimately found no wrongdoing.

He denies any culpability regarding Guiffre’s allegations of abuse.

“These allegations and inferences are completely false. Governor Richardson has never even been contacted by any party regarding this lawsuit. To be clear, in Governor Richardson’s limited interactions with Mr. Epstein, he never saw him in the presence of young or underage girls. Governor Richardson has never been to Mr. Epstein’s residence in the Virgin Islands. Governor Richardson has never met Ms. Giuffre,” said Richardson’s spokeswoman Madeleine Mahony.

WashPo: ‘Free Speech Makes It Difficult to Prosecute White Supremacy’

By Chris Menahan

The Washington Post lamented Thursday that the First Amendment makes it difficult to prosecute “white supremacists” for their political beliefs.

From The Washington Post, “Why free speech makes it difficult to prosecute white supremacy in America”

Federal authorities have used RICO many times to prosecute white prison gangs, but what got the members of organizations such as the Aryan Brotherhood locked up under the statute was not the racism they believed but the acts they committed: crimes including drug trafficking, murder, kidnapping and money laundering.

In the case of mass shootings by those who believe in white supremacy, such as the young white man who allegedly killed 22 people at a Walmart store in El Paso last weekend, prosecutors don’t need RICO to make a criminal case.

But if they wanted to use RICO to hold accountable the collective ideology that radicalized the shooter, they would need to prove that there was an organized enterprise involved with that ideology, that there was a traceable criminal conspiracy to commit violence and that there was a leader or leaders who instructed others to cause harm.

Without that, the collective ideology is not a conspiracy but hate speech. And in the United States, hate speech is not criminal. It’s a right protected by the First Amendment.

C’mon now, where’s your can-do attitude?

This is more like it:

But according to retired law professor G. Robert Blakey, who wrote the RICO statute and is considered the nation’s foremost authority on it, federal authorities should be using RICO to more rigorously investigate white extremist groups without violating free speech protections.

It wouldn’t be easy, he said, but there’s “no excuse” not to try.

Well said. The Bill of Rights is no reason not to start locking people up for their political beliefs!

Incidentally, the Post reported one day earlier how a Trump appointed prosecutor is “putting white supremacists in jail” by hitting them with archaic rioting charges for fighting with antifa (despite one California judge already throwing said rioting charges out for violating the First Amendment):

By the way, if you’re wondering who classifies as a “white supremacist” in modern America, just ask rapidly-rising Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren:

MAN WRONGLY EXPOSED AS “TRUMP DONOR” BY JOAQUIN CASTRO FEARS FOR FAMILY’S SAFETY – HAD ACTUALLY DONATED TO CASTRO

Man Wrongly Exposed as “Trump Donor” by Joaquin Castro Fears for Family's Safety – Had Actually Donated To Castro

List wrongly identified man as top Trump donor

  – AUGUST 9, 2019

A man whose name erroneously appears on a Trump donor list propagated by Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX) says he needed to go over emergency plans with his family after the list put him in danger.

“Harper Huddleston” and his business were listed as one of Trump’s top San Antonio area donors in a list tweeted out by Castro earlier this week, but Huddleston says the name on the list refers to his retired father, with whom he shares a first name.

“He said the mix-up was because they share the same first name, but have different middle names, though his father does not go by the name Harper,” reported Fox News.

Huddleston says while he’s a Trump supporter, he has actually donated to the mayoral campaign of Joaquin’s brother Julian Castro, who is currently running for president.

The mix-up has put Huddleston and his family in danger, and he, his wife and three children have been forced to review emergency strategies on how to stay safe.

“We convened together as a family and talked about situational awareness, exit strategy, avoiding and exiting conflict, talked about staying low and close to home and just being at our very highest senses,” Huddleston said in an interview with Fox & Friends.

Huddleston said he takes issue with Castro using his large platform as a politician, amplified by the media, to demonize an entire group as racist, and says it has only strengthened his support for Trump.

“All this does is galvanize the interest and reinvigorate making America great again,” he stated.

Despite taking heat from both Republicans and Democrats on the issue, not to mention the fact that two mass shootings were carried out over the weekend in the name of political violence, Castro has yet to delete the tweet.

LEFTIST ASKS WALMART FOR GUN THAT COULD ‘KILL 200 PEOPLE’ TO “MAKE A POINT” ABOUT GUN CONTROL

Leftist Asks Walmart For Gun That Could 'Kill 200 People' to "Make a Point" About Gun Control

Bizarre question triggered by him getting mad at seeing a white person purchase a firearm.

  – AUGUST 9, 2019

A leftist asked a Walmart clerk for a gun that could ‘kill 200 people’ in order to “make a point” after he got angry at seeing a white person buying a firearm.

It doesn’t sound like it was the brightest idea.

Phil Attey entered the Walmart store in Port St. Lucie, Florida on Wednesday night with the intention of making a pro-gun control political statement.

He asked the clerk to sell him a gun that could kill 200 people.

Attey said he was triggered into asking the bizarre question after getting angry at the sight of a white person buying a firearm.

Cloudflare Provides Service to Pro-Pedo Websites After Booting 8Chan

Protecting child abusers while attacking free speech seems to be Big Tech’s modus operandi.

By Shane Trejo

In the wake of two mass shootings over the weekend, tech services company Cloudflare announced that they were denying service to 8chan, the controversial free speech website where killers have posted their manifestos.

Cloudflare wrote a blog where they congratulated themselves for enforcing censorship and taking another step on the road to Big Brother.

“We just sent notice that we are terminating 8chan as a customer effective at midnight tonight Pacific Time. The rationale is simple: they have proven themselves to be lawless and that lawlessness has caused multiple tragic deaths. Even if 8chan may not have violated the letter of the law in refusing to moderate their hate-filled community, they have created an environment that revels in violating its spirit,” they wrote.

However, despite their haughty virtue signaling, Cloudflare gives service and protection to websites that promote pedophiles and the serial victimization of children.

NOTE: We are not listing the actual names of these websites because we do not want to drive traffic to these predatory entities hosted by Cloudflare.

One such website is a Facebook-style web platform that allows pedophiles to gather, share tips, and meet children for the purposes of depraved and illegal sex acts. Cloudflare is listed as the current provider for Domain Name System (DNS) services for this website.

CAP

This pedophile haven is serviced by Cloudflare.

Another website serviced by Cloudflare is a portal that serves as a hub for “Virtuous Pedophiles,” a movement designed to rehabilitate pedophiles and normalized their disgusting urges in the eyes of the public. This perverse movement even has a WikiPedia page that reads as follows:

Virtuous Pedophiles is an Internet-based mutual support group for pedophiles who acknowledge having a sexual interest in children and do not act on their attraction. Members support each other in trying to lead normal lives without committing child sexual abuse. Members share the belief that sexual activity between adults and children is wrong and always will be. They also work against the stigma attached to pedophiles. The two founders of the group use the pseudonyms Ethan Edwards and Nick Devin. They do not reveal their true identity because they fear ostracism and hatred against their stigmatized psychological disorder. There are over 2000 users registered,

Liberal rag Salon even ran a piece sympathizing with one organizer in which the man was painted as a figure worthy of praise rather than scorn for masturbating in a bathroom while working as a babysitter for a 5-year-old girl.

Salon was forced to take the video down after widespread anger, but it was archived here:

This movement is aided and abetted by Cloudflare, who provides DNS services to allow these individuals to meet and build a movement of acceptance for their vile actions.

CAP

Cloudflare’s services allow “Virtuous Pedophiles” to spread their propaganda to the world.

With Cloudflare picking and choosing who they conduct business without neutrality based on their subjective morals, could doing business with known pedophiles and facilitating their networking abilities be seen as an endorsement for those illicit activities?

CAP

Cloudflare accused 8Chan of violating the “spirit” of the law and proving “themselves to be lawless” by refusing to restrict freedom. In issuing that judgment, Cloudflare implies that the pro-pedophilia websites enabled by the tech firm are essentially lawful and just.
