Billionaire Democrat donor and climate change crusader Tom Steyer entered the 2020 presidential race on Tuesday.

Steyer, 62, is one of the most visible and deep-pocketed liberals advocating for President Donald Trump’s impeachment. He surprised many Democrats in January when he traveled to Iowa, home to the nation’s first presidential caucus, to declare that he would focus entirely on the impeachment effort instead of seeking the White House.

Despite becoming a national voice on the impeachment issue, Steyer made no mention of it in his campaign announcement. Instead, he said his campaign will focus on reducing the influence of corporations in politics. He also plans to target climate change, which is the focus of the Steyer-backed advocacy group NextGen America.

“Americans are deeply disappointed and hurt by the way they’re treated by what they see as the power elite in Washington, D.C., and that goes across party lines and it goes across democracy,” Steyer said in a video his campaign was releasing Tuesday. “We’ve got to take the corporate control out of our politics.”

Steyer will step down from NextGen America and Need to Impeach.

Last week, Steyer held a conference call with supporters, telling them he planned to launch a bid for the White House, according to Politico.

“He’s definitely focused on the [fact that the] economy is not as good as people are making it out to be,” an anonymous source told the news outlet.

The Associated Press contributed to his report.

UN Debuts New Global Warming Hysteria Buzzword: ‘Climate Apartheid’

The globalists have invented another neologism to scare the masses about the weather.

By Shane Trejo

With constant global warming hysteria not frightening enough people across the world to spur a one-world government, the United Nations has invented the term “climate apartheid” to inject social justice dogma into their ongoing propaganda campaign against capitalism and industry.

Philip Alston, the UN’s Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, is claiming that climate change is going to disproportionately affect the poor.

“Most human rights bodies have barely begun to grapple with what climate change portends for human rights,” Alston said.

The climate apartheid refers to the supposed inequality that will emerge from dealing with the ill-effects of climate change.

The rich will be able to adapt while the poor will suffer the most, according to so-called experts.

“As a full-blown crisis that threatens the human rights of vast numbers of people bears down, the usual piecemeal, issue-by-issue human rights methodology is woefully insufficient,” Alston said.

Alston predicts that all kinds of calamity, such as unwanted migration, food shortages, rampant disease, and even death, will emerge from the climate apartheid.

“It could push more than 120 million more people into poverty by 2030,” Alston said. “Climate change threatens to undo the last 50 years of progress in development, global health, and poverty reduction.”

Alston is releasing a new report to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva this week where he is re-packaging the globalist hysteria for another generation.

“The human rights community, with a few notable exceptions, has been every bit as complacent as most governments in the face of the ultimate challenge to mankind represented by climate change,” Alston’s report states.

The report goes on to do even more fear-mongering: “The steps taken by most United Nations human rights bodies have been patently inadequate and premised on forms of incremental managerialism and proceduralism which are entirely disproportionate to the urgency and magnitude of the threat. Ticking boxes will not save humanity or the planet from impending disaster.”

Alston supports drastic, unprecedented measures to solve the climate apartheid, similar to the Green New Deal proposed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Alston wants “deep structural changes in the world economy” to de-industrialize society with welfare benefits increased to fill the employment gaps as sustainability is achieved.

“Climate action should not be viewed as an impediment to economic growth but as an impetus for decoupling economic growth from emissions and resource extraction, and a catalyst for a green economic transition, labour rights improvements, and poverty elimination efforts,” he said.

This latest round of hocus pocus from the doomsayers is not likely to be much more effective than any of the other times they have peddled the same line, at least not in America. President Trump recently finalized new coal rules that will unleash prosperity and empower the states, and it will happen despite bureaucratic whining from any UN hack.

Debate Devolution Mainstream Democrats’ New Litmus Tests: •Tax Middle Class •Confiscate Guns •Reparations •Free Entry, Free Insurance for Illegals •Abolish Private Health Care

We will have to wait and see how and if the debates move the needle within the Democrat primary. But what these last two nights have done is clarify a Democrat Party that is bound and determined to confiscate our guns, our money and our health insurance. Oh, and then Democrats are going to decriminalize illegal immigration and give our health insurance to illegal aliens.

That is my long way of saying President Trump was the winner of the Democrat debates, because he is the only person standing between us and this:

  • Tax increases.

  • Gun confiscations.

  • Slave reparations

  • Decriminalize illegal immigration.

  • No more deporting of illegal immigrants.

  • Abolish the private health insurance currently held by over 150 million Americans.

  • Give free health insurance to illegal immigrants.

Three of the four Democrat front-runners, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders have committed to abolishing our private health insurance plans.

Almost all of the candidates, including those listed above, support forcing law-abiding taxpayers to pay slave reparations.

Every single candidate raised their hand Thursday night, including Joe Biden, when asked if they would offer free health care to illegal aliens.

And all of them, every one of them, promised to stop deportations, this includes Biden — who is supposed to be the sanest of the bunch.

“Should someone who is here without documents, and that is his only offense, should that person be deported?” Diaz-Balart asked Biden.

Biden’s answer was clear, “That person should not be the focus of deportation. We should fundamentally change the way we deal with things.”

Harris was even more strident: “Absolutely not, they should not be deported.”

Buttigieg: “That criminalization, that is the basis for family separation. You do away with that, it’s no longer possible. Of course it wouldn’t be possible anyway in my presidency, because it is dead wrong.”

Man alive.

Oh, and then there is legalizing abortion right up until birth at taxpayer’s expense — which the sane one, Biden, also supports.

This kind of “take” is now something of a cliché, but how did President Trump not win last night’s debate, when he will almost certainly be up against a Democrat who has promised to raise taxes, open the border, give illegal aliens he will not deport free welfare benefits for life, and decriminalize entering the country illegally while criminalizing gun ownership?

Not to belabor this point, but Biden is supposed to be the sane one, correct? And yet, he went on the record Thursday night promising to outlaw every gun that is not a smart gun, meaning every gun that only operates when it reads the owner’s handprints, meaning every single gun being sold today.

“No gun should be able to be sold unless your biometric measure could pull that trigger. It’s within our right to do that. We can do that. Our enemy is the gun manufacturers, not the NRA, the gun manufacturers,” Biden said.

So much for that housewife being able to fire off a couple of shotgun blasts to scare away an intruder. If her husband or son owns that gun, she will have to use it as a club.

The Democrat Party’s vision for America, and I say this without exaggeration, is one where floods of illegal aliens can legally enter our country to enjoy free health and welfare benefits for life while American citizens are stripped of their health insurance, not allowed to defend themselves, forced to pay slave reparations, and hit with massive tax increases to pay for other people’s student loans.

How will our hospitals, doctors, and schools handle this influx of millions of illegals?

Only Trump stands between us and this madness.

While it is true that not many people are paying attention right now, what is also true is that these video clips, quotes, and positions will live on forever, are now cemented in the 2020 election.

‘Come heavily armed’: Showdown in Oregon as governor sends police to round up Republican lawmakers

A Republican state senator in Oregon told police to show up ready for a fight if they moved to enforce Democrat Governor Kate Brown’s order to compel attendance for a contentious vote on climate-change legislation.

Democrats have a supermajority in the state legislature, but cannot approve a bill that would impose carbon caps in the name of combating climate change without at least the presence of Republican lawmakers. After days of heated debate, the GOP chose to boycott the vote, prompting Governor Brown to authorize Oregon State Police to round up the senators and force them to participate.

Oregon Republican Senator Brian Boquist was having none of it, telling a reporter in response to the governor’s threat that he would not be a political prisoner, and said the state troopers should prepare for a shootout.

Boquist previously warned the governor that “hell is coming to visit you personally” if she issued the order to police. Some Republican lawmakers have reportedly left the state altogether.

Governor Brown released a statement on Thursday denouncing the GOP walkout and explained her decision to compel a quorum, or the minimum number of senators required for votes to go forward in the Oregon State Capitol.

“The Senate Democrats have requested the assistance of the Oregon State Police to bring back their colleagues to finish the work they committed to push forward” Brown said. “As the executive of the agency, I am authorizing the State Police to fulfill the Senate Democrats’ request.”

Brown added it was “absolutely unacceptable” that the lawmakers would “turn their backs on their constituents.”

The bill, which remains stalled due to the Republican walkout, would have implemented a cap and trade program to limit carbon emissions in the state, and allow companies to exchange emission “allowances.”

Oregon GOP Representative Carl Wilson said the bill would “punish” Oregon’s workers for the “reckless” environmental policies of other countries, while Republican Senate Leader Herman Baertschiger Jr. argued it would only represent “Portland and the environmental community, not rural Oregonians.”

Tensions between the coastal and inland communities are not new in Oregon. Back in 2016, land rights activists occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in protest at the federal government’s mistreatment of landowners. Nevada ranchers Ammon and Ryan Bundy led the group that took over the refuge, kicking off a 40-day standoff with Oregon and federal police.

That incident culminated in the arrest of dozens of activists, some charged with federal crimes, as well as the death of activist Robert ‘LaVoy’ Finicum, who was shot at an Oregon State Police roadblock.

Pope Francis Urges Carbon Penalties to Avert Climate ‘Catastrophe’

ROME — Pope Francis warned of disastrous consequences if humanity does not immediately react to the threat of climate change, since the world has reached a “critical moment” and there is no time to waste.

“Dear friends, time is running out!” the pope told a group of participants in a Vatican-sponsored conference on energy transition Friday. “We cannot afford the luxury of waiting for others to come forward or of prioritizing short-term economic benefits. The climate crisis requires decisive action from us, here and now.”

Despite the pontiff’s frequent denunciation of a “politics of fear,” he seemed determined to paint as frightening a picture as possible of an impending climate apocalypse in order to incite people to action.

This conference “takes place at a critical moment,” Francis said. “Today’s ecological crisis, especially climate change, threatens the very future of the human family, and this is not an exaggeration. For too long we have collectively ignored the fruits of scientific analysis, and catastrophic predictions can no longer be viewed with contempt and irony.”

The pope’s words Friday went beyond sounding a general alarm and scorning climate-change skeptics. They also urged specific political action, most notably regarding penalties for carbon usage such as a carbon tax.

“A carbon pricing policy is essential if humanity wants to use the resources of creation wisely,” he said. “The failure to manage carbon emissions has produced a huge debt that will now have to be repaid with interest from those who come after us.”

The cost of carbon usage must be paid here and now by those who use it, and not deferred for future generations to cover, he proposed.

“Our use of common environmental resources can be considered ethical only when the social and economic costs of their use are recognized in a transparent manner and are fully sustained by those who use them, rather than by other populations or future generations,” he said.

The pope reiterated the popular belief that “the effects on the climate will be catastrophic if we exceed the 1.5ºC threshold outlined in the Paris Agreement goals,” for which we have “only a little over a decade.”

“In the face of a climatic emergency, we must take appropriate measures, in order to avoid committing a grave injustice towards the poor and future generations. We must act responsibly well considering the impact of our actions in the short and long term,” he said.

“Future generations are soon to inherit a very ruined world,” the pontiff stressed. “Our children and grandchildren should not have to pay the cost of the irresponsibility of our generation.”

Appearing to take a page from AOC’s Green New Deal, Francis expressed his conviction that an energy transition from fossil fuels to a low-carbon society “can generate new employment opportunities, reduce inequality, and increase the quality of life for those affected by climate change.”

Today “a radical energy transition is needed to save our common home,” he warned. “There is still hope and the time remains to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, provided that there is prompt and resolute action.”
