Newly-elected Omar draws accusations of ‘unbelievable’ bigotry and anti-Semitism

Newly-elected Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar found herself in the spotlight, not for passing legislation, but for defending herself against accusations of homophobia, bigotry, and anti-Semitism from all sides.

Omar’s victory in November was a milestone for identity politics. But even as the first Somali-American and one of two Muslim women elected to Congress last year, accusations of intolerance have dogged her first days in office.

In a tweet posted Tuesday, Omar shared a video of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (South Carolina) denouncing then-candidate Trump in 2015. Now, with Graham a reliable supporter of Trump in the Senate, Omar suggested “They got to him, he is compromised!”

Omar did not say exactly how Graham was “compromised,” or by who, but her tweet came days after a slew of accusations by others that Graham is secretly gay, or involved in sexual kink or misconduct, and that information is being used by Trump as leverage against him.

The same day Omar posted her tweet, MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle suggested Graham had about-turned on his opposition to Trump, because “Donald Trump knows something pretty extreme about Lindsey Graham.” On Saturday, ‘Avengers’ actor Chris Evans slammed Graham for his “shameful 180,” and called the South Carolina Republican “Smithers,” a reference to Mr. Burns’ lickspittle assistant and closeted homosexual in ‘The Simpsons’.

Democratic operative Jon Cooper suggested the following day that Graham is kowtowing to Trump (and indirectly Putin),” because of “some pretty serious sexual kink.”

Appearing on CNN Thursday, Omar defended her tweet, but did not directly address Graham’s sexuality.

“So, I am pretty sure that there is something happening with him,” she told CNN’s Poppy Harlow and Jim Sciutto. “He is somehow compromised to no longer stand up for the truth,” Omar continued, adding that “the evidence really is present to us.”

Pressed on what exactly this evidence is, Omar replied that “It’s being presented to us in the way that he is behaving,” and that her tweet “was just an opinion based on what I believe to be visible to me – and I’m pretty sure there are lots of Americans who agree on this.”

Omar was swiftly called out, first by CNN’s S.E. Cupp, who called her comments “ignorant, homophobic and unacceptable.”

“Here we have Ilhan Omar, a sitting Congresswoman, floating around a conspiracy theory with absolutely zero evidence that Lindsey Graham is secretly gay and the GOP is holding him hostage,” wrote Republican strategist Caleb Hull. “Unbelievable.”

Embroiled in one scandal already, Omar was also pressed by Sciutto about a 2012 tweet sent during an eight-day conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants in Gaza.

“Israel has hypnotized the world,” she wrote at the time. “May Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”

In her CNN appearance, Omar stood by her tweet. “I don’t know how my comments would be offensive to Jewish Americans,” she said. “My comments precisely are addressing what was happening during the Gaza war, and I am clearly speaking about the way the Israeli regime was conducting itself in that war.”

Republicans and Jewish Americans were offended. New York Rep. Lee Zeldin (R), who is Jewish, tweeted that “instead of the Dems supporting Israel & combating BDS & anti-Semitism on college campuses & elsewhere, they’re now empowering it.”

Omar has spoken in support of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement against Israel before, and was recently assigned a seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where she will vote on issues of US foreign policy and foreign aid, including that to Israel. Crucially, her committee may soon vote on a bipartisan bill that would write into law a 2016 agreement between the US and Israel guaranteeing the Jewish state $38 billion in military aid over 10 years.

“Anti-Semitism has no place in Congress and certainly not on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. I am deeply disappointed in Speaker Pelosi’s choice, a choice that threatens the Committee’s long history of bipartisan support for Israel,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Louisiana) said in a statement on Thursday.

With two firestorms raging, Omar’s Congressional career has gotten off to a bumpy start. However, the Minnesota lawmaker is standing her ground against the criticism. As well as defending her anti-Israel statement, Omar stood by her accusations against Graham.

“The Right thinks being homosexual is ‘compromising,’” she tweeted later on Thursday. “Y’all know my tweet had nothing to do with his sexuality and everything to do with his blind cooperation w/ Trump.”

UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA LECTURER SAYS “FIGHTING WHITE PEOPLE IS A SKILL”

University of Georgia Lecturer Says "Fighting White People is a Skill"

“You have to get used to fighting white people”

 | Infowars.com – JANUARY 17, 2019

A philosophy lecturer at the University of Georgia was accused of advocating racial violence after he tweeted “fighting white people is a skill”.

“Fighting White people is a skill. Really, it’s one reason I’m in support of integrated schools. You have to get used to fighting White people. It takes practice,” tweeted Irami Osei-Frimpong, who is listed on the official University of Georgia website under the Department of Philosophy.

Osei-Frimpong, who goes by the name ‘The Funky Academic’, also quoted Bobby E. Wright, a political activist who once said, “Blacks kill Blacks because they have never been trained to kill Whites.”

One respondent on Twitter accused of “advocating racial violence against whites”.

“It is interesting that you believe this. Black people in white neighborhoods tend assimilate with white people, and despise people who think like you,” commented another user.

It is unclear why Osei-Frimpong advocates “fighting white people,” but a review of his teaching style on the RateMyProfessors website reveals one student’s opinion that, “If you are sensitive to criticism of white people, you will not enjoy his lectures.”

Osei-Frimpong’s blog features writing in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, while one entry also discusses how he was suspended by Facebook for 30 days for a post in which he called for a “political revolution” and said he was a fan of “white people writing checks out of guilt.”

Osei-Frimpong’s Facebook page also reveals his support for Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders.

Rapper Cardi B lashed out at President Trump again Wednesday, criticizing the government shutdown and calling supporters of the president “f**king racist rednecks.”

In a series of videos posted to Instagram, Cardi B attacked the president and his supporters in vulgar terms.

“I don’t want to hear any of y’all motherfuckers talkin’ ’bout, ‘Oh, but Obama shut down the government for 17 days.’ Yeah, bitch, for healthcare!” she said. “So your grandma could check her blood pressure and you bitches could go check y’all pussy at the gynecologist with no mother fuckin’ problem!”

“This shit is really fucking serious bro. This shit is crazy. Our country is in a hellhole right now. All for a fucking wall.”

In a previous video, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper said, “You promised these fucking racist rednecks that you was gonna build the wall, but you know that was impossible.”

“But they voted for you and you promised them this shit so now you have to do it,” she said.

In another video posted to her social media this week, the 26-year-old fantasized about beating up the president.

“Like I swear to God, if I was there, I would have punched the motherfuckin’–I would have motherfuckin’ punched the wig out of Trump, bro,” the New York rapper said in response to Trump serving McDonald’s to Clemson football players.

(CENSORSHIP) – SWEDISH PUBLIC BROADCASTER CENSORS WORD “ISLAM” FROM MONOLOGUE ABOUT WHY SAUDI GIRL LEFT ISLAM

Swedish Public Broadcaster Censors Word "Islam" From Monologue About Why Saudi Girl Left Islam

Ruthless enforcement of political correctness exposed

 | Infowars.com – JANUARY 17, 2019

Sweden’s taxpayer-funded public broadcaster censored the world “Islam” from a monologue by refugee Rahaf Mohammad about why she left Islam.

During an interview, SVT omitted the words “Islam” and “haram” from the translation. Haram means “forbidden” in Arabic.

Mohammad used the word while describing how she was locked up for six months and suffered abuse from her family for getting her hair cut short because Islam forbids it.

The edit is major given that Mohammad’s entire plight is based around her rejection of Islam. As an apostate, she is under threat of death if returned to her native Saudi Arabia.

Sweden Democrat politician Kent Ekeroth first drew attention to the omission, accusing the network of state-sponsored censorship. The original English subtitles can briefly be seen behind the overlayed Swedish translation, meaning that the words “Islam” and “haram” were deliberately removed by SVT.

“For a Swedish SVT viewer, it is basically impossible to see the English subtitles that reflect what she actually tells. Instead, you are left to read the Swedish translation that omits most of what she said in that sentence,” he wrote.

The act of censorship was met with derision, with one person updating the network’s logo and name from Sveriges Television to “Stasi Vision TV”.

“It’s like doing away with the word ‘Nazism’ in a report about World War II survivors! Or ‘communism’ in a report about the Soviet Union,” Twitter user Mikael Nilsson remarked.

The ruthless patrolling of politically correct boundaries is commonplace in Sweden, where a bizarre journalistic hive mind serves to manage acceptable discourse and shield Islam from criticism.

It appears as though Mohammad is set to prove herself problematic to leftists who simultaneously attempt to claim they are advancing “progressive” virtues while defending Islam, the least progressive belief system on the planet.

As we reported yesterday, one of the first things she did after arriving in Canada was proclaim her love for bacon.

HOUSE GOP LEADERS REMOVE STEVE KING FROM COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS

House GOP Leaders Remove Steve King from Committee Assignments

“Steve’s remarks are beneath the dignity of the Party of Lincoln and the United States of America.”

By Katherine Rodriguez

House Republican leaders voted Monday to remove Rep. Steve King (R-IA) from all of his assigned committees after the Iowa Republican came under fire for his comments about white nationalism in a New York Times interview.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced Monday that the Republican Steering Committee voted not to give King any committee assignments in the current session of Congress.

McCarthy, in his statement announcing the decision, called King’s comments “beneath the dignity of the Party of Lincoln and the United States of America.”

“Steve’s remarks are beneath the dignity of the Party of Lincoln and the United States of America. His comments call into question whether he will treat all Americans equally, without regard for race and ethnicity,” McCarthy said in a statement.

screen shot 2019-01-15 at 11.00.21 am

“House Republicans are clear: We are all in this together, as fellow citizens equal before God and the law. As Congressman King’s fellow citizens, let us hope and pray earnestly that this action will lead to greater reflection and ultimately change on his part,” McCarthy added.

In the previous session of Congress, King had served on the House Agriculture, Judiciary, and Small Business committees. He also chaired the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice and was on his way to becoming a ranking member of that committee in the current session before the Steering Committee’s vote.

The Iowa Republican decried the committee’s decision as a “political decision that ignores the truth,” adding that the committee misinterpreted his remarks:

King faced pushback on Thursday after he told the Times that he raised questions about why the terms “white nationalist” and “white supremacist” are considered offensive.

His comments caused an uproar, prompting Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to call his remarks “unworthy” of the office he holds.

“If he doesn’t understand why ‘white supremacy’ is offensive, he should find another line of work,” McConnell said.

King released a statement clarifying his comments soon after the Times article went live, stating that the Times‘ assumption that he was “an advocate for white nationalism” was incorrect.

King also “condemned” people who support bigotry and rejected “those labels and the evil ideology that they define.

South Africa created 100 ‘blacks only’ doctor positions… but failed to fill them

screen shot 2019-01-14 at 11.04.55 am

A South African province attempted to create 100 new positions in a doctor training program that would be reserved for black candidates only. The quota, which was not met due to recruiting problems, has been criticized as racist.

The KwaZulu-Natal health department decided that it would expand its doctor training program in 2019, from 314 to 414. An internal memo leaked to local media revealed, however, that only black doctors would be eligible for the 100 additional slots.

The department remained unapologetic about the policy, tellingTimesLIVE: “South Africa, including KwaZulu-Natal, remains an unequal society with limited opportunities for self-development for those who were historically oppressed.”

Spokesperson Ncumisa Mafunda added that the measure was designed to “address these imbalances of the past.”

Difficulties with recruiting, however, hindered the department’s ability to meet its new quota.

“After difficulties were experienced in recruiting black African candidates for these posts, a deviation was sought from the accounting officer and, out of a total of 77 registrar posts, 21 posts will be offered to non-Black Africans,” Mafunda said.

A spokesperson for Democratic Alliance – the leading opposition party to the ruling African National Congress – argued that any policy was “an aberration of our constitutional values and is racist.”

“Any form or attempt to redress the injustices of the past must ensure that we remain committed to what our constitution says… There must be no exclusion, especially based on the colour of our skin.”

The failed quota was not well received on Twitter, with many calling it openly racist and counter-intuitive.

“Let me understand – one should practice racism in order to eradicate racism? Sounds logical,” one sarcastic Twitter user wrote.

Racial tensions in South Africa have been growing as a result of proposed legislation that would seize land, without compensation, from white farmers. The proposal has been billed as necessary to help correct years of racial inequality in the country as a result of apartheid.

#MeToo Comes For Former MSNBC Host Touré

Toure takes part in SiriusXM's 'Town Hall' with L.A. Reid at the SiriusXM Studios on February 1, 2016 in New York City.

“You can’t be a sexual predator and go around shaming other predators”

By PAUL BOIS

The #MeToo movement has come for music journalist and former MSNBC host Touré, who is alleged to have sexually harassed one of his colleagues in 2017.

According to Essence, the accusation of sexual harassment erupted against the famed journalist this week when he appeared on the “The Clubhouse with Mouse Jones” podcast to discuss disgraced singer R. Kelly in wake of the Lifetime documentary Surviving R. Kelly that profiled several young women who claim to have been abused by the singer.

When the show advertised the episode featuring Touré on Instagram, a comment appeared from a make-up artist named “Dani,” who alleged that the former MSNBC host sexually harassed her while working with him on a People/Entertainment Weekly show in 2017. “He couldn’t stop asking me to do anal, how I looked naked, if I had sex over the weekend, what it would be like to f–k me,” she said in the post.

Dani said that Touré’s sexual harassment disturbed her so much that she would have crew members in the room with them as she would prepare the makeup. She eventually quit and reported his behavior to human resources. She claims that he was fired; Touré’s reps claim that her agreement had expired.

Speaking with ESSENCE, Dani said that she worked with him in most of 2017 before leaving in October of that year, which was right around the time that sexual misconduct allegations broke against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Touré also allegedly apologized to her in several Instagram messages she shared with the outlet. As to why she reported him to HR after she quit, Dani says that she could not stomach seeing him go on talk shows to discuss the allegations against Weinstein.

“He went on Hot97 to talk about Harvey Weinstein (after he apologized). I accepted his apology and was ok to move on but, you can’t be a sexual predator and go around shaming other predators,” she said. “When I saw him going around as R. Kelly’s docuseries spokesman to different radio stations, the lies had to stop. I’ve worked with Mouse Jones before and wanted him to know the truth.”

In a statement released through his rep, the former MSNBC host said that he regularly engaged in “edgy, crass banter” and is sorry for making Dani feel uncomfortable.

“On the show, our team, including myself, engaged in edgy, crass banter, that at the time I did not think was offensive for our tight-knit group,” the statement said. “I am sorry for my language and for making her feel uncomfortable in any way. As a lead on the show, I should have refrained from this behavior. I have learned and grown from this experience.”

Leftist Congresswoman Accuses Trump of Ethnic Cleansing

By

A leftist Congresswoman joined MSNBC Thursday night to accuse President Donald J. Trump of ethnic cleansing – seriously.

“His ultimate goal is, as you said, to make America pure in the sense of not having immigrants, not having folks of color here, shutting down every form of legal immigration, all to throw a bone to those people,” said Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) on “All In With Chris Hayes.”

There were no brakes on the insane train, as Hayes made no attempt to interject or slow the congresswoman down. Aside from the obvious lie, this represents a new level of vile anti-Trump rhetoric from the left.

MSNBC flashed a graphic during the segment that claimed “it was never about a wall,” with which Jayapal vocally agreed, despite the fact that it has – quite literally – always been about a wall. The only party that has ever interjected race into this equation is Democratic Party, which thrives off of race-pimping and racial warfare.

Trending: Here Are The 12 “Republicans” Who Voted To End The Shutdown With No Wall

Hundreds of studies, by the way, (here’s one) have shown that illegal immigration disproportionately affects blacks and Hispanics, a fact which Trump noted during his border wall address on Tuesday night. In fact, building a wall demonstrably help “folks of color,” as Jayapal calls them. The only group that would significantly negatively impacted would be big business owners, who would have to stop employing illegals at half the rate they would employ Americans, forcing them to give those low-skilled jobs to low-skilled American employees.

But the liberal elite like Jayapal and Hayes refuse to acknowledge these basic facts, instead choosing to brand Republicans as “racists,” or in this case claim that they are advocating for genocide.

All the Democrats have to do is not be insane, and they cannot even manage that.
