A judge has ruled that statues of Confederate generals in Charlottesville, Virginia, are protected by state law — which will likely halt any local efforts to remove the monuments, according to reports on the opinion released Tuesday afternoon.

Local CBS affiliate WCAV reports that Charlottesville Circuit Judge Richard Moore defies the recent phenomenon of city councils, schools, and other governing bodies removing historical markers to address modern residents who are offended by what they perceive as endorsements of slavery and white supremacy.

The judge wrote that he would likely overturn any civil judgment that called for the removal of the statues:

In his nine page ruling, Moore cites the fact that both Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson are depicted in their military uniforms and on horses associated with their time in the Civil War.

“I believe that defendants have confused or conflated 1) what the statues are with 2) the intentions or motivations of some involved in erecting them, or the impact that they might have on some people and how they might make some people feel,” Moore writes. “But that does not change what they are.”

Moore finds the issue to be so clear-cut that “if the matter went to trial on this issue and a jury were to decide that they are not monuments or memorials to veterans of the civil war, I would have to set such verdict aside as unreasonable…”

‘Death by algorithm’: Maddow inconsolable after YouTube recommends RT interview on Mueller report

Russiagate guru Rachel Maddow has caught wind of the latest Kremlin-linked outrage: YouTube recommended an RT video about the Mueller report! And now social media users have lined up to laugh at her.

The MSNBC host ascended her Twitter pulpit to share a shocking Washington Post article detailing how YouTube allegedly recommended an RT video “hundreds of thousands of times” to users seeking information about the recently released report by special counsel Robert Mueller.

“Death by algorithm,” a despondent Maddow commented.

The video in question – an episode of On Contact, which is hosted by Pulitzer prize-winning American journalist Chris Hedges – features an interview with Canadian journalist Aaron Mate. A fierce critic of the Trump-Russia collusion theory promoted by mainstream media, Mate recently received an Izzy Award for his contrarian reporting on Russiagate.

While Maddow was apparently horrified by the thought of impressionable Americans watching a video of two acclaimed journalists discussing current events, others were more perturbed by the MSNBC host’s melodramatic tweeting.

“This YouTube is so much better than the war mongering conspiracy lunacy that comes from you. You should be ashamed to smear good people & good content in such a base & McCarthyite way,” replied one disappointed Twitter user.

Others took issue with Maddow’s bizarre suggestion that YouTube’s algorithm could somehow bring about “death.”

“’Death?’ No one’s lives were threatened by a conversation between two award winning journalists about the massive disinformation campaign you’re waged on the minds of suggestible Democrats. But they are endangered by the Cold War you’ve helped to stir up,” Max Blumenthal, editor of the Grayzone Project, noted.

Mate himself joined the chorus of criticism directed at Maddow.

“I was interviewed on RT by the Pulitzer-winning journalist Chris Hedges about Russiagate. YouTube recommended it. How fitting then that the leading Russiagate conspiracy theorist calls this ‘death by algorithm’ – to a propagandist, dissent from orthodoxy is ‘death’ indeed,” he wrote.

Actually, the entire premise of Maddow’s outrage is highly suspect. The Washington Post report quietly notes that the RT video in question has accumulated “only about 55,000 views,” and that the interview was by far from the most recommended Mueller-related video. “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” was recommended more than five million times, WaPo reported, while other channels, such as Fox and PBS NewsHour, received hundreds of thousands of recommendations for their Russiagate videos.

To make matters even less scary, YouTube disputed the article’s core claims, which were originally made by media watchdog group AlgoTransparency. YouTube said it could not reproduce the group’s data allegedly showing that the RT video had been recommended hundreds of thousands of times by the site’s algorithm.

In fact, the Washington Post story was so shaky that it had to issue a clickbait-deflating correction: An earlier version of their report had erroneously claimed that YouTube had recommended RT’s take on the Mueller report more often than other networks’ programming.

As Blumenthal observed, the WaPo story appears to be yet another tired attempt to shame anyone who doesn’t regurgitate narratives promoted by US corporate media.

Trinity College Professor: ‘Whiteness Is Terrorism’

Controversial Trinity College Professor Johnny Eric Williams wrote that “whiteness is terrorism” in a recent social media post. Underscoring the extremism present on many college campuses, Williams claimed his comments are “not controversial in the academy.”

According to a report from Newsweek, Trinity College Professor Johnny Eric Williams is making waves again. Breitbart News reported in June 2017 that Williams had argued that first responders should have let Representative Steve Scalise die after he was shot during a practice for the congressional baseball game. Williams also shared a blog post by an anonymous author that asked black people to withhold life-saving help from white people in need.

“If you see them drowning. If you see them in a burning building. If they are bleeding out in an emergency room. If the ground is crumbling beneath them. If they are in a park and they turn their weapons on each other: do nothing,” the post read.

More recently, Williams tweeted that “whiteness is terrorism.” Now, he’s defending those comments. In a conversation with Newsweek, Williams said that his tweets are only controversial to white people.

“They’re not controversial in the academy. They’re not controversial within the black community. I don’t think they’re controversial at all,” Williams said, defending his tweet. “I think they’re controversial with people who see themselves as white, because it reveals in a telegraph that they’re immersed in that whiteness to a point where it’s hard for them to see anything else.”

“I’m referring to whiteness as an ideology, which everyone in the United States is immersed in because we live in a white supremacy society,” Williams added. “Because there are people walking around believing that they’re white and acting as if they’re white, when there’s just the human race.”

16 students from the class of 2021 withdrew their acceptance over the controversies surrounding Williams. In addition, alumni have withheld $200,000 in donations from the university over the administration’s refusal to sanction Williams for his comments about Representative Scalise.

Mueller Report Reveals Russia Supported… Black Lives Matter

The redacted report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller was released this morning, and it reveals the country ran dozens of social media pages purporting to be American citizens, including several supporting Black Lives Matter.

It appears the at least one of the goals of the Russia Federation’s meddling in the United States was to simply tear apart any type of social cohesion in the United States. In addition to cyber efforts aimed at supporting then-candidate Donald J. Trump in 2015 and 2016, the Russians also backed Sen. Bernie Sanders, and strangely enough, Black Lives Matter.

Russia’s Internet Research Agency, or IRA, ran several Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook pages and groups aimed at pushing Black Lives Matter messaging. Some of these were called “Black Matters”, “Blacktivist”, “Don’t Shoot US”, “Black Fist” and a self-titled grass roots group called “Black Matters US”.

While these groups were created by the IRA, they recruited American citizens to assist in creating content and running the operations. While portions of the Mueller report have been redacted to protect the privacy of American citizens, it appears the IRA attempted to contact prominent members of Black Lives Matter within the United States to gain their support on social media. This appears to have been unsuccessful.

However, at one point, the IRA-created “Black Fist” entity hired a “self defense instructor” in New York to offer classes sponsored by the social media presence. The purported goal of these classes was to “teach African-Americans to protect themselves when contacted by law enforcement.”

In addition to the various Black Lives Matter presences on social media, and those supporting President Trump and Sanders, the IRA sponsored several social media outlets claiming to be part of America’s LGBTQ and Muslim communities. These included “LGBT United” and “United Muslims of America”.

This information seems to suggest one of Russia’s primary goals in its meddling in the United States was to play all sides to destroy the already decaying social cohesion within the country.

VIDEO: Pregnant Woman ‘Randomly Attacked by Group of Teenagers’

Shocking video showing a pregnant woman being “randomly attacked” by a group of teenagers is getting little to no coverage in the national media, for unknown reasons.

From WCVB:

A pregnant woman’s pained screams could be heard in a Quincy courtroom Thursday as Judge Mark Coven watched a video that prosecutors say shows the woman being beaten by two Quincy teenagers outside a downtown post office.

The Patriot Ledger reported that after watching the video, Coven ruled that the two defendants, Tyrese D. Johnson-Nurse, 19, and David D. Russell, 18, could pose a danger to the public and ordered that they adhere to additional conditions, including wearing a GPS monitor, if released. The two had been held behind bars since their arrest Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault and battery on a pregnant woman and assault and battery.

[…] “This is two guys involved in a very brutal incident,” Coven said from the bench. ”(Russell) was beating the hell out of this poor pregnant woman.”

“It is a symbol of white supremacy”

A Missouri Western State University student was filmed completely losing her cool when she saw a person wearing a MAGA hat on campus.

The video was originally uploaded to Facebook by the school’s student newspaper.

They have since deleted the post “due to legal reasons.”

Before it was removed the footage was spread around the internet, so you can see the incident in the YouTube video below.

“It’s a symbol of white supremacy and I don’t want to see that. I wake up every day and I see my people getting killed,” the woman cried out in the first seconds of the video.

“Take that shit off!” she yelled before being approached by a police officer who told her yelling wasn’t helping the situation.

“Do you know what that hat symbolizes?” she asked the officer who explained he didn’t want to get into a political debate.

Next, the woman went on a rant about wearing turbans to school, saying, “let’s all start wearing turbans and going to class and let’s see how long it’s going to take them to come and attack us.”

She asked the officer, “Tomorrow if I wake up and wear a turban because I’m Muslim it’s ok?”

Infowars contacted the school and confirmed that wearing a turban on campus is just as protected as wearing a MAGA hat and they have no policies against headwear.

When the officer asked if she’d like to talk calmly, the student responded, “I don’t want to talk calmly. I want him to take that off.”

School newspaper The Griffon News reported the person wearing the MAGA hat was a high school boy visiting campus.

The high school boy, who was on campus to help decorate for his school’s prom dance, is not seen in the footage of the confrontation.

University President Robert Vartabedian released a statement, explaining, “Ideally, we would express our views and listen to views different from our own not with an intent to start or win an argument, but to understand and be understood. That can be a challenge in a community like Missouri Western’s, where we have such a diversity of backgrounds and opinions. But it is vital.”

Progressive Activists Lionize Ilhan Omar and Impede House Anti-Semitism Measure

Congress is getting ready to consider a resolution against anti-Semitism in the wake of repeated problematic comments that Muslim US Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has made about the state of Israel, but Democratic House leaders have a serious problem: their activist base has lost its marbles.

Omar is gaining steam because left-wing lawmakers and other radicalized ‘Never Trump’ liberals are using her as a rallying point. She is a woman, a minority, dark skinned, and represents a foreign alien culture so thus criticism of anything she says is off limits, as modern Democratic dogma dictates.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) questioned the necessity of the resolution with some of her trademark asinine blather that revolved around the usual victim narrative:

Right now, Congressional Democrats are preparing to fold as Omar’s support calcifies within the leftist faithful.

“We’re still discussing it,” House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said of the resolution’s progress on Tuesday. “The sentiment is that it ought to be broad-based. What we’re against is hate, prejudice, bigotry, white supremacy, Islamophobia, and anti-Semitism.”

“Yes, we’re strongly against anti-Semitism, but we’re strongly against prejudice directed at any group,” he added.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel (D-NY) maintains that Omar will receive no repercussions regarding her seat on his committee despite her frequent anti-Semitic comments.

“I don’t think the Foreign Affairs Committee should be used as punishment for anybody,” Engel said. “But I do think [Omar] needs to understand what she said is very hurtful. Whether she is on the committee or not is not the issue.”

Meanwhile, a Twitter campaign is building of progressives who are using the hashtag “#IStandWithIlhan” to stand in solidarity with the woman who has made repeated insensitive and incendiary comments toward Jewish people.

Meanwhile, racial grievance lobbyists affiliated with notoriously anti-Semitic leftistLinda Sarsour are circulating a letter addressed to Speaker Pelosi urging her to “reject the vicious and racially-motivated bad-faith smears” against Omar and her Islamic counterpart in Congress, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

“As a Black Muslim woman, Representative Omar is uniquely and personally threatened by the exceptional atmosphere of unfair scrutiny of her right to engage in legitimate political debate. With the current rise of white nationalism and xenophobia, bigotry certainly includes but also certainly extends well beyond antisemitism, and the Democratic leadership would be dangerously tone-deaf not to mention the horrific significant rise in violence, hate crimes, and death threats against all communities of color,” the letter reads.

“Since she has taken office, Representative Omar has consistently been one of the most progressive voices in Congress. We are grateful to her for her consistent and principled stance in support of economic justice, racial justice, immigration justice, environmental justice, justice for the oppressed including Palestinians, and an end to war. The Democratic leadership should celebrate and support her instead of abandoning and condemning her,” the letter continues.

The letter was signed onto by Sarsour as well as representatives from groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations, Black Lives Matter Global Network, Working Families Party, Democracy for America, Women’s March, American Friends Service Committee, Million Hoodies Movement for Justice, and other allied groups pushing for the leftist take-down of America.

As much as Pelosi and other more corporatist Democrats would like to deny it, voices like Omar’s are firmly within the mainstream of today’s deranged Left. Voters must be made aware of what is happening to the Democrats so they can reject this extremist threat in 2020 and beyond.

WATCH: Bernie Can’t Think Of Any Legislation He’s Passed That Helps People

Socialist Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was unable to name a single piece of legislation that he has passed from his decades of experience being in Congress during an interview on Monday.

Sanders, 77, appeared on the “The Breakfast Club,” where he fielded questions related to his 2020 presidential candidacy as a Democrat.

“So I think I have a long history in civil rights activism,” Sanders said. “In 1988 I was one of the few white public officials who supported Jesse Jackson for President the United States and he ended up winning Vermont. I think if you look at my record in terms of civil rights and other areas you will find that it is consistently a very very strong record.”

Charlamagne tha God, one of the show’s hosts, asked Sanders: “Any legislation you can point to well?”

“Legislation that, uh, benefits African-Americans yeah we passed but not specifically you know we passed legislation that benefits working people sure,” Sanders responded.

Sanders held his first rallies over the weekend in Brooklyn, New York, and Chicago, Illinois where spoke about the need to “transform America.”
