‘No wall money’: Pelosi draws line in the sand on border budget ahead of potential second shutdown

screenshot2019-01-31at10.57.25am

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared a pre-emptive victory in her first post-shutdown press conference, sticking to her ‘not a dime’ position on border security funding despite the looming deadline.

“Winning is good,” Pelosi quipped to a packed House, in a boast more characteristic of her Republican rival. Her victory might be short lived, however, as the leading House Democrat expressed hopes rather than guarantees that a second shutdown would be kept off the table.

Illegal Busted for Selling Child Porn in Louisiana

By Peter D’Abrosca

An illegal alien in Houma, Louisiana was arrested and charged with multiple crimes related to child pornography, according to that state’s attorney general.

“Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry today announced the arrest of an illegal alien living in Houma on numerous counts of Internet crimes against children,” said a press release.

“Jose Juan Hernandez, 42, illegally living in Houma, was arrested on 1 count of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen (Distribution) and 17 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen (Possession),” the release continued.

Hernandez has been booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and ICE has placed a detainer on him.

Landry blasted the United States’ broken immigration system.

“Yet again, our office has arrested another illegal immigrant accused of exploiting children,” he said. “This man who should not be in our country has been picked up for possessing and distributing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.”

“Too many Louisiana families have become victims of crime because of our Southern border in name only,” he continued. “So I again urge the Congress to support President Trump, build the wall, and help us make our communities safer.”

Saturday, President Donald J. Trump made a deal with Democrats to reopen the federal government for a period of three weeks to continue negotiating for the wall, while federal government employees get paid. In the event that Congress will not fund the wall, he will likely declare a national emergency to get it done.

242 Migrants Dropped Off Near U.S. Mexico Border, Cross into Arizona

By Richard Moorhead

A large group of 242 illegal immigrants arrived in Arizona on Thursday, having been dropped off by buses on a Mexican highway adjacent to the nation’s border with the United States.

This arrival marks the latest in a string of unusually large groups crossing the U.S-Mexico border illegally, usually turning themselves in and requesting asylum.

Border Patrol sources alleged that “several busloads” of the migrants were dropped off in Northern Mexico, almost immediately crossing the border, which was only fortified for the prevention of vehicular crossings in this sector. Migrants, who were mostly from the Central American nation of Guatemala, were said to simply crawl under the fencing with ease.

In similar fashion to recent large groups of migrants, the border crossers were apprehended by Border Patrol shortly after their arrival in the United States, having been detected by motion sensors. This was likely all part of their plan, as fighting a battle for legal residency within the American immigration courts is often viewed by migrants as a more favorable way to obtain legal status in the country.

Should their claims for asylum be accepted, the American taxpayer would be on the line for providing free world-class education, welfare, healthcare and public services for the migrants, regardless of their illegal entrance into the country.

Large groups of migrants pose an increasingly prevalent issue for Border Patrol and Homeland Security, which institutionally are more structured to deter smaller groups of adult men coming to the United States illegally to seek work. The group that arrived Thursday is one of several that came this month, with one that tunneled in near Yuma containing 376 people.

A wall, while serving as an essential component of comprehensive border security, is unlikely to deter these sorts of groups that aim to utilize the immigration court system to secure residence. A more specific solution would involve reforming the system to crack down on fake asylum claims and requiring migrants to submit claims for asylum in a safe third country, such as Mexico.

Illegal Arrested for Raping, Impregnating Child in California

By Peter D’Abrosca

He’s been arrested twice for entering the United States illegally.

Today in 100 percent preventable crime, an illegal alien living in California is in police custody after allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old girl.

“Police said 31-year-old Hector Montez is being held at the Kings County Jail on a $6 million bond,” according to KOLD. “Montez is from Honduras and is in the United States illegally, according to officials.”

According to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office, they were contacted by the hospital where the young girl was about to give birth due to the girl’s age.

Montez allegedly raped and impregnated her last March, when she was 14. Though Montez denied that he knew the girl, they were connected via social media. According to the sheriff’s office, he allegedly picked her up from school at least once. The report was unclear about whether this event led to the rape, but said that the girl hid her pregnancy for months.

“Montez has been arrested twice for illegally entering the U.S., according to local media reports,” the report said. “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has sent a request to detain Montez, officials said.”

He is currently being held on $6 million bond.

Trump Proposes DACA, TPS Protections for $5.7B in Wall Funding

By Ian Hanchett

During a statement on Saturday, President Trump proposed funding for humanitarian assistance and drug detection technology, increases in Border Patrol agents and immigration judges, changes to the asylum application process for minors, promotion of family reunification, $5.7 billion in border wall funding, and protections for DACA recipients and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders.

Trump said, “Our plan includes the following: $800 million in urgent humanitarian assistance, $805 million for drug detection technology to help secure our ports of entry, an additional 2,750 border agents and law enforcement professionals, 75 new immigration judge teams…a new system to allow Central American minors to apply for asylum in their home countries and reform to promote family reunification for unaccompanied children, thousands of whom wind up on our border doorstep. To physically secure our border, the plan includes $5.7 billion for a strategic deployment of physical barriers, or a wall. This is not a 2,000-mile concrete structure from sea to sea. These are steel barriers in high priority locations.”

He added that the plan includes “3 years of legislative relief” for DACA recipients, which will “give them access to work permits, Social Security numbers, and protection from deportation,” and 3 years of TPS extension.

New caravan enters Mexico — legally or not…

Ciudad Hidalgo (Mexico) (AFP)

Hundreds of Central Americans entered Mexico illegally as the latest migrant caravan to set its sights on the United States began crossing the Mexican-Guatemalan border en masse Friday.

Not content to wait five days for the humanitarian visas Mexico is offering them, several hundred migrants took to make-shift rafts to cross the Suchiate River, which forms the frontier, or snuck across the loosely guarded border bridge overnight, AFP correspondents said.

That could trigger a new Twitter firestorm from US President Donald Trump, who has urged Mexico to halt such caravans, and who tweeted early Friday: “Another big Caravan heading our way. Very hard to stop without a Wall!”

Caravans of migrants hoping to find safety in numbers have taken center stage in the raging US debate over Trump’s proposed border wall, which has led to a government shutdown that is now the longest in history.

Around 2,000 migrants are traveling in the latest caravan — smaller than the one that swelled to 7,000 migrants late last year, leading Trump to warn of an “invasion” by “criminals” and “thugs” and send thousands of troops to the US-Mexican border.

Mexican authorities are urging the migrants to cross the border legally and offering expedited “visitor cards” that let them work and access basic health care in Mexico.

So far, 969 migrants from Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua have been registered under the program and given bracelets that they can exchange for visitor cards in five days.

But hundreds more migrants ignored the offer and crossed illegally, not content to wait in the park where the caravan has camped out in the border city of Tecun Uman, Guatemala.

“A lot of us aren’t interested in waiting five days. Our goal is to reach the United States,” said Alma Mendoza, a nurse and single mother making the trip with her three children.

“We don’t have food, much less money. We want to reach our destination,” she told AFP.

Other migrants said they would consider staying in Mexico.

“My goal is to reach the United States, but if I can’t I’ll stay in Mexico and work. They’re giving us an opportunity,” said Christian Medrano, 33, an industrial technician.

‘AMLO’ walking fine line –

The caravan set out Tuesday from San Pedro Sula, in northwestern Honduras, and has grown along the way.

The migrants are mostly fleeing poverty and crime in Central America’s “Northern Triangle” of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Brutal street gangs have made the three countries among the most violent in the world.

Another caravan of about 200 migrants set out Wednesday from El Salvador and is now in southern Mexico, possibly poised to join up with the first.

Many of the migrants are traveling in families, often with small children.

Those who reached Mexico’s southern border have covered about 700 kilometers (435 miles) so far. They have roughly 4,000 kilometers to go if they take the same route as the last caravan, to Tijuana, across from San Diego, California.

When that caravan reached Mexico in October, the authorities tried to stop it with riot police. But the migrants stormed in anyway, tearing down border fences then crossing the river illegally when police refused to let them through.

Since then, Mexico has got a new government, led by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, an anti-establishment leftist.

“AMLO,” as the new president is widely known, has promised to treat migrants more humanely than previous governments. But he has also sought to stay on Trump’s good side with talk of reducing migrant flows.

The October caravan largely dispersed after reaching Tijuana.

US Border Patrol agents fought back two attempts by the migrants to rush the border, firing tear gas to disperse them.

Some have since found work in Mexico, some crossed the border and filed asylum claims, and many returned home. About 400 remain in a shelter set up for them in Tijuana that is slated to be closed on Wednesday.

Rapper Cardi B lashed out at President Trump again Wednesday, criticizing the government shutdown and calling supporters of the president “f**king racist rednecks.”

In a series of videos posted to Instagram, Cardi B attacked the president and his supporters in vulgar terms.

“I don’t want to hear any of y’all motherfuckers talkin’ ’bout, ‘Oh, but Obama shut down the government for 17 days.’ Yeah, bitch, for healthcare!” she said. “So your grandma could check her blood pressure and you bitches could go check y’all pussy at the gynecologist with no mother fuckin’ problem!”

“This shit is really fucking serious bro. This shit is crazy. Our country is in a hellhole right now. All for a fucking wall.”

In a previous video, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper said, “You promised these fucking racist rednecks that you was gonna build the wall, but you know that was impossible.”

“But they voted for you and you promised them this shit so now you have to do it,” she said.

In another video posted to her social media this week, the 26-year-old fantasized about beating up the president.

“Like I swear to God, if I was there, I would have punched the motherfuckin’–I would have motherfuckin’ punched the wig out of Trump, bro,” the New York rapper said in response to Trump serving McDonald’s to Clemson football players.

Remember the Caravan? Leader Faces 15 Years in Prison for Child Rape

By Tom Pappert

One of the leaders behind the latest migrant caravan to depart from Central America has been arrested by local authorities, who discovered he had been convicted of raping his child cousin, and had been fleeing justice.

Honduran media reports that migrant caravan coordinator Juan Carlos Molina was arrested by Honduran Border Police after they realized he matched the description they had for a man convicted of child rape in 2015.

Molina either did not carry identification with him, or carried fake paperwork, causing the police to fingerprint him and discover that he was a convicted child predator meant to be serving 15 years in prison.

The man was able to be convicted while remaining a fugitive was made possible due to the fact that the victim, his minor cousin, produced a child from the assault who shares his DNA.

Honduras’s La Tribuna reported:

The Criminal Enforcement Court of the Judicial Section of San Pedro Sula confirmed that the detainee is a convicted person and was a fugitive from justice. He faces 15 years in prison. The court issued the arrest warrant on August 31, 2015.

On April 23, 2015, Chamber 5 of the Sentencing Court sentenced Juan Carlos Molina, who was found to be criminally liable for the crime of special violation against a minor and was found to be civilly liable to respond with compensation for the moral damages caused to the victim.

According to the facts, in September 2010, when the child under 12 was in the house, at night, she left the door ajar for her mother to enter and who arrived was Juan Carlos Molina, who took advantage of the minor, who was his cousin, covering his mouth raped her.

Big League Politics has followed the progress of the latest caravan to depart from Central America since its inception. We now know that the caravan is being encouraged by an organization that receives money from globalist financier George Soros, and that Congress has received information suggesting terrorists may have embedded themselves in the latest caravan.

Tensions at the U.S.-Mexico border continue to mount, as Democrats seek to deny President Donald J. Trump the ability to construct a wall of steel or concrete to stem the tide of violent crime coming across the border. Just last week, a pile of 20 or more corpses was found near the border, justifying Americans’ increasing desire to see the wall constructed.

2020 Dem candidate Julian Castro proposes releasing illegals into America with ankle monitors

By Victor Skinner

Obama’s former Housing and Urban Development secretary Julian Castro wants to be America’s next president, and he has some bold new ideas on how to fix the problems plaguing the country.

Castro, a former mayor of San Antonio and youngest member of Obama’s cabinet from 2014 to 2017, announced his intent to run for POTUS in 2020 on Saturday.

The grandson of a Mexican immigrant, Castro told CBS News’ “Face the Nation” he would take a different approach than the Trump administration to folks crossing the southern border illegally, though he’s apparently unaware that his bright idea is already in use.

“What I believe we could do and what the Obama administration did do, I believe, toward the end of its tenure, was to look at things like ankle monitors so that you’re able to monitor where people are in the country,” he told the news station, according to the Washington Examiner.

Rather than detain those who break the law, Castro would treat them as probationers and reward those who cooperate with citizenship.

“We also need to be serious about recognizing the right of people to seek asylum, and the president is playing games with this, blocking people’s right to seek asylum. I would change that,” he said. “I would make sure that we push as hard as possible for comprehensive immigration reform, so that for people who are already here, if they’ve been law abiding, if they pay a fine, that they can get an earned path to citizenship.”

The problem is, ankle monitors aren’t a bold or new idea, and apparently they don’t work.

screen shot 2019-01-16 at 10.41.26 am

The Associated Press reported in August that the federal government is issuing thousands of ankle monitors to illegal immigrants and the devices work great to get people to show up to court, until deportation proceedings begin.

After that, many illegal immigrants ditch the devices and run.

According to the AP:

As of early July, there were nearly 84,500 active participants in ICE’s Intensive Supervision Appearance Program, or alternatives to detention — more than triple the number in November 2014. Around 45 percent of those were issued GPS monitors.

ICE spokesman Matthew Bourke said immigration court attendance is strong for immigrants in intensive supervision, but that ankle monitors and other measures are “not an effective tool” after deportation orders are issued. There isn’t reliable information on the number of ankle monitor recipients who remove them and flee, but many say it’s high.

“People can just cut those things off if they want to,” said Sara Ramey, a San Antonio immigration attorney whose asylum-seeking clients are routinely assigned ankle monitors.
