“What They Are Doing Is Tantamount to Monopoly” – BREAKING: President Trump Signs Executive Order on Social Media Censorship with Warning to Far Left Tech Giants

President Trump signed his executive order on Thursday regarding social media and big technology companies.

The order comes on the heels of a illicit fact-check on the president from Twitter, related to President Trump’s sentiment regarding voting by mail.
Twitter’s fact-check was later revealed to be fake news.

President Trump directed the Attorney General to work with states to enforce their laws against deceptive business practices.

President Trump made his announcement today from the Oval Office.

President Trump told reporters what the social media giants are doing is tantamount to a monopoly.
Via KVIA:

“A small handful of social media monopolies controls a vast portion of all public and private communications in the United States,” he alleged.

“They’ve had unchecked power to censor, restrict, edit, shape, hide, alter, virtually any form of communication between private citizens and large public audiences. ”

TWITTER CEO JACK DORSEY STANDS BY DECISION TO ‘FACT-CHECK’ TRUMP

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Stands by Decision to 'Fact-Check' Trump

President expected to issue executive order on social media imminently

May 28, 2020

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has defended his platform’s decision to fact-check US President Donald Trump for the first time ever over his comments on the upcoming election.

A spat erupted between Twitter and Donald Trump, one of the platform’s most prolific users, after Twitter said that two of his posts could be misleading.

The President accused the social media giant of harbouring an anti-conservative bias, a sentiment that was fuelled by unearthed anti-Trump tweets from Twitter’s head of site integrity.

Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter in 2006, wrote that the site chose to put a fact-check warning on two of Trump’s tweets because they may “mislead people into thinking they don’t need to register to get a ballot.”

What happened to Trump’s tweets?

Trump in the tweets accused the Democrat governor of California, without evidence, of sending vote-by-mail ballots to “anyone living on the state, no matter who they are or how they got there” and warned of rampant voter fraud in the November election.

The tweets were tagged with a fact-check label that redirects to reporting by media and journalists debunking Trump’s claim. The President in response accused Twitter of suppressing free speech and interfering in the election. He also threatened to “strongly regulate” or shut down social media platforms outright.

The controversy is likely to raise further questions as to whether Twitter is willing to continue to append the label to other presidential tweets that have been considered false by third parties.

Donald Trump has recently doubled down on unsupported claims that former Rep. Joe Scarborough was involved in the 2001 death of his staffer, which was ruled accidental by authorities. Twitter said it would not fact-check these tweets, because they did not violate its policies, and would not remove them despite a request from the staffer’s widower.

A rebuke from Facebook

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, whose platform refuses to fact-check political speech and leaves it up to the media, challenged Twitter’s misinformation policy.

“We have a different policy than, I think, Twitter on this,” he said in a Fox News interview on Wednesday. “I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online.”

Referencing Zuckerberg’s remark, Dorsey tweeted that fact-checking politicians “does not make us an ‘arbiter of truth’.”

He added: “Our intention is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show the information in dispute so people can judge for themselves. More transparency from us is critical so folks can clearly see the why behind our actions.”

Lacking integrity?

Twitter has come under fire among conservatives over its perceived bias against Donald Trump. One argument that fuelled that sentiment was a series of derogatory tweets about Republicans which Twitter’s head of site integrity, Yoel Roth, posted in 2016 and 2017.

The tweets referred to Trump as a “racist tangerine” and to his administration as “Nazis in the White House.”

Twitter, however, stood by Roth and explained that he was not the person who decided to fact-check Trump. “No one person at Twitter is responsible for our policies,” the company said in a statement to several news outlets. “It’s unfortunate to see individual employees targeted for company decisions.”

Dorsey tweeted: “Fact check: there is someone ultimately accountable for our actions as a company, and that’s me. Please leave our employees out of this. We’ll continue to point out incorrect or disputed information about elections globally. And we will admit to and own any mistakes we make.”

Prominent ANTIFA Critic Suspended From Twitter Following Andy Ngo Attack

Twitter has increased their censorship after ANTIFA’s terror rampage in Portland this past weekend.

By

Joe Biggs, a prominent ANTIFA critic who has frequently organized with the Proud Boys, had his verification removed by Twitter today for no particular reason. Just hours later, his account was suspended entirely.

Biggs, a military veteran who was formerly a reporter with Infowars, has been an outspoken critic of ANTIFA and the terrorist far left, which was on full display in Portland this past weekend when journalist Andy Ngo of Quillette was savagely beaten by a leftist mob.

CAP

VDARE News noted that Twitter actually has members of ANTIFA on their staff, as the corporate tech giant actively harbors the anti-American domestic terrorist sleeper cell that viciously attacks journalists in the streets.

Biggs is also promoting an “End Domestic Terrorism” rally in Portland, as the Proud Boys will be going back into the town to show they will not be intimidated by ANTIFA’s violent gang tactics.

“We’re planning this massive rally with the calm, peaceful intention to push back against the violence from Antifa,” Proud Boys Chairman Enrique Tarrio said to Big League Politics. “The Portland Mayor and police need to understand that conservatives are peaceful people who just want to our First Amendment protected.”

“It’s good that the Portland police want to do their job,” added Tarrio. “So long as they do their job, the Proud Boys will have a peaceful rally, and there will be multiple Antifa arrests.”

The rally is planned for Aug. 17 in downtown Portland, Oregon where another showdown is expected between the patriots and the communists. Individuals like Biggs refuse to be daunted, regardless of how big tech monopolists like Twitter try to punish him for exposing left-wing terror.

Facebook to Hand Over Users’ Info to French Govt For ‘Hate Speech’ Prosecutions

By Chris Menahan

Facebook is going to work in concert with the government of France to rat out its own users so they can be prosecuted for “hate speech.”

The move comes just three months after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg pledged a “privacy-focused” overhaul of the social network.

From Reuters, “In a world first, Facebook to give data on hate speech suspects to French courts”:

In a world first, Facebook has agreed to hand over the identification data of French users suspected of hate speech on its platform to judges, France’s minister for digital affairs Cedric O said on Tuesday.

O, whose father is South Korean, is one of French President Emmanuel Macron‘s earliest followers, and has been influential in shaping the president’s thinking on Big Tech as an advisor at the Elysee palace in the first two years of Macron’s presidency.

The decision by the world’s biggest social media network comes after successive meetings between Zuckerberg and Macron, who wants to take a leading role globally on the regulation of hate speech and the spread of false information online.

So far, Facebook has cooperated with French justice on matters related to terrorist attacks and violent acts by transferring the IP addresses and other identification data of suspected individuals to French judges who formally demanded it.

All French citizens are to be treated as terrorists now if they hold the wrong opinions.

Following a meeting between Nick Clegg, Facebook’s head of global affairs, and O last week, the social media company has extended this cooperation to hate speech.

“This is huge news, it means that the judicial process will be able to run normally,” O told Reuters in an interview. “It’s really very important, they’re only doing it for France.”

O, who said he had been in close contact with Clegg over the last few days on the issue, said Facebook’s decision was the result of an ongoing conversation between the internet giant and the French administration.

Since his nomination as minister in March, O has made the fight against hate speech online a key priority through regular contacts with Facebook’s top executives, including founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Buzzfeed reported in March that Macron had begun working with Facebook to “solve” it’s “deep-rooted anti-Semitism problem.”

Screen Shot 2019-06-26 at 10.22.56 AM

From Buzzfeed:

France — home to the world’s third-largest Jewish population — is in the middle of what Macron has described as being the worst period of anti-Semitism since World War II, and much of it is playing out online.

Calling for a “collegial approach” to regulation last November, Macron announced what he called an “unprecedented field experiment” with Zuckerberg to take French officials behind the scenes of content moderation process. After reviewing the tools Facebook uses to evaluate and take down offensive and violent content, Macron said, policymakers would work with Facebook to “jointly develop specific and concrete proposals to fight offensive and hate content.”

[…] Just after Macron announced his partnership with Zuckerberg last November, the Yellow Vest protests exploded onto streets across France. The movement tapped into deep-seated anger at economic stagnation among the French middle class, but it transformed into a political force through Facebook groups that were also hotbeds of conspiracy theories, anti-Semitic abuse, and anti-vax misinformation.

[…] The Yellow Vest movement helped unleashed a new wave of anti-Semitic abuse. President Macron was called a “whore of the Jews” by commenters who seized on his work for the Rothschild Bank. People in the Yellow Vest groups also shared videos by Dieudonné, a comedian who has been convicted of many crimes over the past 15 years, including advocating terrorism and denying the Holocaust, yet still has a page on Facebook. Dieudonné has become close to figures around France’s historic far-right party, the National Front — recently renamed the National Rally — many of whose supporters joined the Yellow Vest protests.

With the yellow-vest protests hitting week 32 and the National Front beating Macron’s party in the recent EU elections, you can be sure this new law will quickly be put to use.

Shaun King Celebrates Vandalism of Confederate Flag on Facebook

By Tom Pappert

Shaun King, the controversial former Black Lives Matter figurehead who has been accused of lying about his ancestry and disavowed by the left wing, anti-police organization, posted a video to Facebook celebrating a man vandalizing and stealing a confederate flag off a vehicle in the middle of traffic.

King posted the video with the caption “Sometimes you have to just step out there and take matters into your own hands” and a fist emoji, heaping praise on the vandalism and theft of the confederate flag.

The video shows a man running in traffic after a semi truck, and repeatedly trying to pry the confederate flag off the vehicle as it started and stopped moving, as a man in the vehicle behind the truck filmed the vandalism.

At press time, the video has over 800,000 views, and nearly 18,000 shares, revealing that RA.

King, who admits he is 75 per cent white and says he does not know the identity of his father, ostensibly meaning he could be 100 per cent white, was disowned by Black Lives Matter in 2016 for his management of funds.

Breitbart reported:

“Senior justice writer” Shaun King, who recently sent this correspondent perhaps the most remarkable email in the history of right of reply after he was caught mysteriously deleting 70,000 tweets, was just thrown under the bus by Deray Mckesson and other prominent BLM activists in a series of tweets drawing attention to alleged mismanagement of funds.

This is just the latest in a series of scandals for race-baiter King, who charges $7,500 for speeches about race and genderBreitbart was the first media organisation to raise questions about Shaun King’s race that have still not been answered. Although King claimed for years to be biracial, after our report he was forced to admit he had no idea who his father was and that both of the people on his birth certificate are white.

It appears King has fallen far from grace, and is now reduced to praising criminality on Facebook to remain relevant.

Should HBO’s ‘Chernobyl’ have had more actors of color? Twitter suggestion met with ridicule

Screen Shot 2019-06-03 at 10.24.59 AM

HBO’s hit new series based on the Chernobyl tragedy has divided opinion online, but the oddest reaction yet has come from a budding UK actor wondering why the show’s creators had not chosen more people of color for the cast.

While the docudrama has come under criticism for various historical inaccuracies, until now, the lack of racial diversity among the actors was not one of those criticisms — for the simple reason that 1980s Ukraine was not exactly a thriving hub of modern-day multiculturalism.

Screen Shot 2019-06-03 at 10.26.22 AM

That should have been no reason to leave black and brown actors out though, according to actress Karla Marie Sweet, who tweeted that there are “so many great actors of colour” in the UK who “would’ve been amazing” in the series. Sweet felt “disappointed” to see “yet another hit show with a massive cast” that “makes it looks like PoC don’t exist.”

Screen Shot 2019-06-03 at 10.27.15 AM

Just to clear up any confusion, the show “makes it look” like that to reflect the reality of the time and place — and the producers seem to have been at least trying to create an authentic vibe.

Needless to say, Sweet’s tweet didn’t exactly go down well on Twitter, where she was promptly told to “learn history.”

“You didn’t see PoC because they’re not there!”

Screen Shot 2019-06-03 at 10.29.08 AM

One user said perhaps the actors were chosen for the same reason that Martin Luther King should probably not be played by a white person — because he was black.

Screen Shot 2019-06-03 at 10.30.08 AM

Another said he was taking a screenshot of the thread because “nobody will believe” something so stupid could have been posted.

Screen Shot 2019-06-03 at 10.31.00 AM

To be fair, Sweet did at least acknowledge the lack of people of color in the USSR in another tweet, but suggested that since the actors spoke with British accents (it was a British production), the creators should have just thrown accuracy completely out the window and hired a more diverse-looking cast. Emotions like fear, panic and sadness can be “communicated just as effectively” by people of color, she added, missing the point entirely.

‘Chernobyl’ is a blast of a TV series – but don’t call it ‘authentic’

Screen Shot 2019-06-03 at 10.32.15 AM

Having actors of another race would “break immersion” for the viewers, another user tried to explain — but ultimately, Sweet didn’t seem open to criticism, later tweeting about the reactions she had received from “racist Twitter.”

Twitter Suspends Researcher Who Exposed Antifa-Journalist Connections

(1) MurfreesboroTN_Oct28_2017_antifainsideeastprotestarea_bymichaelpatrickleahy

By Allum Bokhari

Twitter has suspended the account of Eoin Lenihan, a researcher who mapped out connections between mainstream journalists and the violent far-left Antifa movement on Twitter, following a mass-reporting campaign by left-wing activists.

Lenihan published the results of his research at Quillette, where he explained the twofold objective of his project — first, to discover the journalists who were most closely linked to Antifa via social media. Second, to discover if those journalists covered the extremist movement favorably or negatively.

via Quillette:

In October 2018, my research partner and I decided to investigate the truth of this impression by using a mix of network mapping and linguistic analysis to see which prominent journalists who covered Antifa also were closely connected to leading Antifa figures on social media. We then inspected the Antifa-related stories these journalists had written.

We created a data set of 58,254 Antifa or Antifa-associated Twitter accounts based on the follows of 16 verified Antifa seed accounts. Using a software tool that analyzed the number and nature of connections associated with each individual account, we winnowed the 58,254 Antifa or Antifa-associated Twitter accounts down to 962 accounts. This represents a core group of Twitter users who are connected in overlapping ways to the most influential and widely followed Antifa figures. Of these 962 accounts, 22 were found to be verified—of which 15 were journalists who work regularly with national-level news outlets.

The journalists included contributors to The Guardian, The New Republic, Al Jazeera, and the Huffington Post.

See the source image

Unsurprisingly, Lenihan’s analysis of the journalists who mingle with Antifa on Twitter found that none of them covered the movement critically:

That correlation turned out to be quite pronounced: Of all 15 verified national-level journalists in our subset, we couldn’t find a single article, by any of them, that was markedly critical of Antifa in any way. In all cases, their work in this area consisted primarily of downplaying Antifa violence while advancing Antifa talking points, and in some cases quoting Antifa extremists as if they were impartial experts.

Since he published his findings, Lenihan has had his account mass-reported on Twitter. Mass-reporting is when an account is swarmed by trolls who abuse the “report” button with the hopes of tricking a tech platform’s algorithms into automatically suspending them. Of course, with much of Silicon Valley now categorizing ordinary conservative speech as violations of their terms of service, this is an increasingly easy task. Lenihan’s account has now been suspended by Twitter for more than two days.
