Arrests, water cannon & a burning car: Yellow Vest protests spread to Brussels (PHOTOS, VIDEOS)

France’s ‘Yellow Vest’ protests have now made their way to Belgium, with demonstrators in Brussels calling on the prime minister to resign. Some threw rocks and firecrackers at officers, prompting them to deploy water cannons.

Crowds of people protesting fuel prices and living standards disrupted traffic and walked the streets for around three hours on Friday.

A total of 60 people were arrested before any violence began, mostly for blocking roads or carrying large fireworks, Reuters cited police as saying.

The violence took place after several hundred people marched to the office of Prime Minister Charles Michel, demanding that he resign. Some threw rocks, firecrackers, and road signs at police, prompting officers to deploy water cannons. One photo online showed a police vehicle set on fire.

Responding to the demonstrations, Michel voiced sympathy for people’s financial troubles, but noted that “money doesn’t fall from the sky.”

The unauthorized demonstration, news of which spread mostly on social media, was inspired by the ‘Yellow Vest’ protests in France against fuel price hikes imposed by President Emmanuel Macron. The increases are part of the government’s efforts to reduce emissions causing global warming.

While the ‘Yellow Vest’ protests have taken place across France over the past two weeks, they became violent in Paris, with the French capital being compared to a war zone as demonstrators set barricades alight and clashed with police.

IT WAS A HOAX: Guardian Report Blows Up – Manafort Passport Shows NO UK TRIPS – Never Met with Assange

On Tuesday The Guardian from the UK posted a shock report that former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort met with Julian Assange in March 2016-this was before he became Trump’s campaign chair.

The far left Guardian reported:

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort held secret talks with Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and visited around the time he joined Trump’s campaign, the Guardian has been told.

Sources have said Manafort went to see Assange in 2013, 2015 and in spring 2016 – during the period when he was made a key figure in Trump’s push for the White House.

Here is what The Gateway Pundit reported as our first reaction to the Guardian report on Tuesday morning…
It should be easy enough to verify the meetings if Manafort actually visited the Ecuadorian Embassy.
Right?

And if Manafort met with Assange don’t you think that would have been reported by now?

Wikileaks pounced on the report —
Wikileaks refuted the report calling it one of the great embarrassments in journalism history.

Then Wikileaks bet The Guardian a million dollars that their report is complete trash.

SWEDEN: 70-YEAR-OLD WOMAN INTERROGATED, CONVICTED FOR ANTI-MUSLIM FACEBOOK POST

Sweden: 70-Year-Old Woman Interrogated, Convicted For Anti-Muslim Facebook Post

Pensioner expressed concern about Islamic takeover

Paul Joseph Watson | Infowars.com – NOVEMBER 29, 2018

A 70-year-old woman in Sweden was interrogated by police and later convicted for an anti-Muslim Facebook post in which she expressed fear that Islam was taking over the country.

The post, made in May 2018 on the Facebook group Stand Up For Sweden, appeared as a comment underneath an article about violence towards women.

“Is this not Sweden or have we turned over the country to some Muslim damned vermin?,” the woman wrote.

The post was flagged by taxpayer funded hate speech watchdog group Näthats-inspector and the woman was subsequently interrogated by police in Hudiksvall.

She admitted that she could have framed the post better but asserted that she was merely upset after reading material about the mistreatment of women in Islamic countries.

“I am against the fact that they are bad to women. We have so many Muslims coming. I must have meant that they are battering women. I’m afraid of that,” she told police, adding that she had been “provoked” by news headlines about the issue.

The woman as later convicted and ordered to pay 40 daily fines of 120 kronor.

The judge in the case said that the Facebook post was more of an assertion than a question and therefore violated Sweden’s hate speech laws.

Similar laws that would officially make “Islamophobia” a racist hate crime are now being discussed in the United Kingdom.

Earlier this year, a 65-year-old woman in Sweden who was previously the victim of a brutal beating by migrants was sentenced to prison for posting that “the IQ level in Sweden will fall as a result of immigration.”

In another case, a 32-year-old woman from Gothernburg was interrogated by police, had her DNA taken and was subsequently imprisoned for the “crime” of sharing a joke meme about Islam on Facebook.

Last year, a 70-year-old Swedish woman was prosecuted for hate speech for saying she saw migrants setting fire to cars, something that happens all the time in Sweden.

Also last year, Sweden put YouTube star PewDiePie, their biggest export since Abba and Ikea furniture, on an official hate list.

SOROS’ “OPEN SOCIETY” DRIVEN OUT OF TURKEY AMID PROBE INTO TERRORISM TIES

Soros' "Open Society" Driven Out Of Turkey Amid Probe Into Terrorism Ties

The Hungarian-born billionaire financier and his “Open Society” have been driven out of yet another country.

Zero Hedge – NOVEMBER 27, 2018

Six months after Hungarian President Viktor Orban succeeded in driving his former mentor, and current nemesis George Soros out of Hungary, the Hungarian-born billionaire financier and his “Open Society” Foundation that has financed an army of liberal NGOs across Europe and the US has been driven out of yet another country.

According to the Guardian, Soros’ Open Society Foundation is formally withdrawing from Turkey after the founder of its Turkey organization was arrested and charged with supporting an opposition figure accused of trying to overthrow the government of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The organization announced its decision to withdraw from Turkey amid an interior ministry investigation seeking to uncover links between the organization and protests at Gezi Park in Istanbul in 2013. One of the founders of the Turkish OS branch, Hakan Altinay, was arrested along with 12 others two weeks ago and accused of supporting jailed Osman Kavala, an opposition activist accused of trying to overthrow the Hungarian government with mass protests. Kavala has been accused of supporting terrorism within Turkey, and Open Society has been accused of supporting Kavala.

Back in May, OS closed its Budapest Office and moved its operations to Berlin after the country passed an “Stop Soros” law aimed at making it more difficult for foreign NGOs to operate in the country.

In a speech last week, Erdogan accused Soros of trying to sow instability and discord in Turkish society, and of organizing destabilizing protests.

One of its founders in Turkey, Hakan Altinay, was among 13 people detained 10 days ago. They were accused of supporting jailed rights activist Osman Kavala in trying to overthrow the government through mass protests.

In a speech last week, Erdoğan linked those arrests to Soros. “The person [Kavala] who financed terrorists during the Gezi incidents is already in prison,” he told a meeting of local administrators.

“And who is behind him? The famous Hungarian Jew Soros. This is a man who assigns people to divide nations and shatter them. He has so much money and he spends it this way.”

Though it denied links to the protests, Open Society told the Guardian that it would nevertheless seek to close its office in Istanbul and liquidate its Turkish operations as swiftly as possible. The organization added that it was unsure whether it will be able to continue its Turkish operations.

The foundation said that “new investigations” were trying to link it to the Gezi protests. “These efforts are not new and they are outside reality,” it said

The foundation said it would apply for the legal liquidation of its operations as soon as possible.

According to the New York Times, a representative for Open Society said maintaining the organization’s operations in Istanbul had become “completely untenable.”

“We are deeply dismayed and disappointed that the foundation had to close,” an Open Society spokeswoman, Laura Silber, said on Monday. But, she said, “it became completely untenable.”

Open Society purports to support “justice and human rights” in more than 100 countries; but in more recent years, it has primarily focused on Soros’ liberal agenda of open borders and free trade while resisting the wave of populist sentiment that has swept across Europe and the US.
