Coronavirus pandemic could wipe $1.1 TRILLION off global economy — Oxford Economics

China’s GDP growth is expected to fall from six percent last year to 5.4 percent in 2020 due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, said the latest report by Oxford Economics.

It has modeled two scenarios on the coronavirus outbreak morphing into pandemic. Under the first scenario, if it spreads more widely in Asia, world GDP would fall by $400 billion this year, or 0.5 percent. The second scenario foresees the global GDP dropping $1.1 trillion or 1.3 percent, if the virus outbreak becomes a pandemic and a disruption to manufacturing in Asia spreads worldwide. Such a decline would be the same as losing the entire annual output of Indonesia, which is the world’s 16th largest economy.

“Our scenarios see world GDP hit as a result of declines in discretionary consumption and travel and tourism, with some knock-on financial market effects and weaker investment,” wrote the analysts.

Oxford Economics said it still expected the impact of the virus to be limited to China and to have a significant, but short-term impact, bringing world GDP growth just 0.2 percent lower than January at 2.3 percent.

The growth of new confirmed cases of the deadly coronavirus has slowed down this week, but experts warn it is too early to call the all-clear for the risk of a pandemic. So far, there are over 75,500 confirmed cases and more than 2,100 deaths.

Congressional candidate Anna Paulina Luna is running in Florida’s 13th District as a constitutional, pro-Trump Republican, and she is touting her Latina heritage and military credentials to get the seat.

“Extreme leftists push more government and less freedom, while career politicians — in both parties — are more beholden to special interests than their constituents,” Luna’s campaign wrote. “Anna took an oath to defend our country in the Air Force. She’s now ready to take that oath to Washington.”

Luna, who works as the Chairwoman of Hispanic Initiative at PragerU, has gained endorsements from Congressman Matt Gaetz and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

“Anna is a true fighter for our country! We need more like her! Check out her run for Congress, critical to help patriots like her,” Kirk wrote in an announcement earlier this month.

However, video has emerged showing that Luna is a RINO who supported amnesty for illegal aliens before attempting to remake herself as an “America First” Republican.

Media Right News unearthed the video that the Luna campaign has tried to scrub from the internet.

The Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is calling out Luna as a RINO for her support of amnesty for illegal aliens.

“While Anna Paulina Luna does oppose Obama’s unconstitutional and illegal DACA Amnesty, she supports giving green card or citizenship Amnesty to illegal aliens,” ALIPAC wrote in their press release.

“Most Americans oppose any pathway to citizenship and voting rights for illegal aliens who will vote 90% Democrat in future elections handing full control of the all three branches of the US Government to the left forevermore,” they added.

ALIPAC has chosen to endorse Luna’s competitor, George Buck, who believes he has the right credentials and fundraising prowess to win back the district in November. Buck raised $220,667.38 in the 4th quarter of 2019, according to FEC filings.

“None of the donations were from swamp PACs or lobbyists, they came from average every day Americans and Floridians who want to take this country back,” Buck said.

“I am proud of that and I won’t let my donors and voters down. We are almost at half a million raised and this is the kind of fundraising prowess needed to defeat Turncoat Charlie Crist. Charlie has done nothing while in Congress other than vote to impeach President Trump during the sham witch hunt. I can do better,” he added.

Crist is believed to be vulnerable after voting in favor of the impeachment of President Trump. In addition to Luna and Buck, Amanda Makki, Anna Luna, Sharon Newby, Matt Becker, and Shelia Griffin are also running for the seat.

Dershowitz Says Obama “Personally Asked” FBI To Investigate Someone For George Soros

Former President Barack Obama “personally asked” the FBI to investigate someone at the request of billionaire progressive George Soros, according to Harvard Law School professor emeritus, Alan Dershowitz.

“President Obama personally asked the FBI to investigate somebody on behalf of George Soros, who was a close ally of his,” said Dershowitz.

“We’ve seen this kind of White House influence on the Justice Department virtually in every Justice Department,” he added. “The difference is this president is much more overt about it. He tweets about it. President Obama whispered to the Justice Department about it.”

Q: Wow, well, we look forward to hearing more about that new.

Dershowitz: That’s not unusual. That is not unusual. People whisper to presidents all the time. Presidents whisper to [the] Justice Department all the time. It’s very common. It’s wrong, whoever does it, but it’s common, and we shouldn’t think that it’s unique to any particular president. I have in my possession the actual 302 form [an FBI record of an interview], which documents this issue, and it will, at the right time, come out. But I’m not free to disclose it now because it’s a case that’s not yet been filed. -Breitbart News

Dershowitz also opined on the impeachment trial of President Trump – of which he was part of Trump’s defense – reiterating that his arguments had been so distorted by CNN that he could sue the network if he wanted to.

CNN — and House impeachment managers — claimed Dershowitz said that the president can do whatever he wants to do, as long as he claims to have believed he was acting in the public interest. Dershowitz had specifically said that criminal-like behavior was indeed impeachable.

Dershowitz also said that former Trump associate Roger Stone deserved a new trial, given new revelations about the extreme political bias of the jury foreperson, who opposed both Trump and Stone. -Breitbart

BORDER SECURITY – SHAME: Joe Biden Claims DACA Illegals are “More American” Than Citizens

American nationality appears meaningless to the struggling candidate.

Joe Biden claimed that DACA recipients are “more American than most Americans are” when campaigning at an even in Nevada Monday night.

Biden’s assertion shows the utterly reversed priorities of the globalist ruling class, who fail to understand the concept of national sovereignty in the slightest. In his mind, American nationality is dictated by his own political preferences, without any consideration for American tradition, citizenship, or naturalization laws.

Biden made the striking claim in the midst of an appeal to provide legal status for all of the “DACA students,” as he put them. Not every one of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is a student, obviously, but that isn’t preventing the septuagenarian former Vice President from framing the issue in the manner most politically convenient to you.

Joe Biden is possibly resorting to dramatic language on immigration as a result of his struggling campaign. The once-frontrunner suffered a dismal fourth place finish in Iowa, and is looking for a win in South Carolina as a possible lifeline to a campaign on life support.

The possibility of calling Americans less American than those who entered the country illegally alienating lawful citizens doesn’t seem to concern him, judging from his Nevada remarks.

DACA is an extralegal amnesty program created by an Obama executive order in 2012. It creates legal residency for a selected population of younger illegal immigrants brought to the United States by their parents as children, essentially providing a back door around the legal residency and citizenship process without congressional approval.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered DACA to be terminated in 2017. Litigation over the amnesty program’s cancellation has continued, and it’s probable that a Supreme Court decision will determine the fate of the executive program in 2020.

Russia temporarily bans ALL Chinese visitors amid coronavirus epidemic

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on Tuesday evening prohibiting Chinese citizens from entering Russia for tourism, work and for private purposes. The new rules are effective from Thursday.

The decision is the strongest measure yet taken to prevent the entry and spread of the new coronavirus in Russia. Previously, Russian Railways suspended all passenger traffic to and from China, and flights have been heavily restricted. In addition, border crossings in the Far East have been closed.

“From 00:00 local time on February 20, 2020, the passage of citizens of the People’s Republic of China across the state border of the Russian Federation entering the territory of the Russian Federation for labor purposes, for private, educational and tourist purposes, is temporarily suspended,” read a statement issued by the government’s operational headquarters headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova.

Additionally, from Wednesday Russia will temporarily stop issuing entry invitations to Chinese citizens for private and educational purposes.

There are currently no reported live cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Russia. Two infected Chinese citizens who were quarantined in the Tyumen and Transbaikalia regions have recovered and were discharged from hospital.

One Russian man has, however, been hospitalized in Japan after becoming ill on board the cruise ship Diamond Princess, which was docked and locked down because of a virus-spreading passenger.

He and his spouse have been transferred to medical facilities, with Japanese authorities clarifying on Tuesday that only the man is currently known to be infected.

Over 1,800 people have so far died from COVID-19, with more than 72,000 infections recorded. The vast majority in China. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the epidemic a global health emergency.

Patients deemed to be “racist” or “homophobic” will be denied care in NHS Trust hospitals under new rules set to take effect in April.

“Currently, staff can refuse to treat non-critical patients who are verbally aggressive or physically violent towards them,” reports Sky News. “But these protections will extend to any harassment, bullying or discrimination, including homophobic, sexist or racist remarks.”

Police will also be given new powers to prosecute “hate crimes” committed against NHS staff.

What is determined to be “racist” or “homophobic” is anyone’s guess, since many elderly patients will be totally unfamiliar with modern politically correct speech codes and could be deemed to have behaved in a racist or homophobic way even if they didn’t maliciously intend to.

As Jack Montgomery highlights, “In late 2017 an NHS patient who requested a female nurse to carry out a cervical smear complained when the hospital sent a person with “an obviously male appearance… close-cropped hair, a male facial appearance and voice, large number of tattoos and facial stubble” who insisted “My gender is not male. I’m a transsexual.”

The line between critical and non-critcal care is also up for debate. Will refusal to treat a patient because they said something someone deems offensive result in accidental deaths?

This is even worse than China’s social credit score, which hasn’t yet gone so far as to punish people by withdrawing medical treatment if they engage in wrongthink.

First it was deplatforming people from social media websites, then it was deplatforming people from bank accounts and mortgages. Now it’s deplatforming people from hospital treatment. Literally eliminating people’s right to basic health care because of their political or social opinions.

It’s also important to emphasize that these changes are coming in under a supposedly “conservative” government.

Respondents poked fun at the new rules.

“This is going to be hilarious when a boomer is denied his double bypass cause he called someone coloured on Facebook,” remarked one.

WHO Holds Secret Talks With Tech Giants To Stop Spread of Coronavirus “Misinformation”

The World Health Organization has held talks with tech giants to stop the spread of coronavirus “misinformation,” despite the fact that some things once labeled “misinformation” have since turned out to be true.

The meeting was organized by the WHO but hosted by Facebook at its Menlo Park campus in California. Attendees included representatives from Amazon, Twilio, Dropbox, Google, Verizon, Salesforce, Twitter, YouTube, Airbnb, Kinsa and Mapbox.

According to the WHO’s Andy Pattison, an “infodemic” of misinformation has accompanied the coronavirus outbreak and big tech giants need to respond by censoring “fake news” content.

Both Facebook and Twitter already announced that they would remove content deemed to be misinformation regarding the virus, a dangerous new lurch to mass censorship given that what is considered “misinformation” is totally subjective and beholden to partisan bias.

Two clear examples of “misinformation” surrounding the coronavirus subsequently turned out to be true.

The first example was claims that China was hiding the true number of coronavirus victims, once labeled a “conspiracy theory” by the media but subsequently proven accurate on Friday when 14,800 new coronavirus cases were reported in a single day.

The second example was suspicions that the virus could have emerged from a bio-safety level 4 research lab in Wuhan.

This contention has been aggressively attacked by the media and big tech giants – Zero Hedge was even banned by Twitter for reporting it – but a new study by scientists at the prestigious South China University of Technology in Guangzhou has confirmed that “the killer coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory in Wuhan.”

Chinese dissidents and others have been defamed and in some cases imprisoned by authorities, but the media continues to treat any questioning of the official Chinese Communist Party narrative with disdain.

Customs and Border Patrol Set to Deploy Elite Units to Sanctuary Cities to Assist ICE

CBP is serious about enforcing immigration law, even in cities that intend to flout it.

Customs and Border Patrol is preparing to redeploy some of the agency’s highly trained tactical personnel throughout the nation’s “sanctuary cities” in order to support Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The New York Times reported on the development Friday, that signals the Department of Homeland Security(which presides over both entities) is dead serious about national immigration enforcement, even in scofflaw municipalities that have sought to neuter it.

According to the report, more than 100 of CBP’s agents are being deployed throughout the nation to assist in ICE operations. It’s possible the agents could be tasked with apprehending illegal alien fugitives who are released onto the streets from local jail custody. They’ve been described as members of a unit known as BORTAC, an unit of personnel analogous to CBP’s SWAT team.

It’s common for sanctuary city jurisdictions to release individuals who are often violent criminals from custody, ignoring ICE detainer requests that the fugitives be instead handed over to face federal charges for immigration violations.

Sanctuary cities often create unnecessary risks to public safety by forcing ICE to arrest dangerous criminals off of the streets, when they could’ve been simply handed over from municipal jail systems to the federal agency. Eric Garcetti, the mayor of one of America’s biggest cities, openly admits that Los Angeles simply does not participate in immigration enforcement.

If scofflaw cities such as Philadelphia and Los Angeles are truly determined to undermine immigration law enforcement, then so be it. Attorney General Bill Barr has followed the lead of his predecessor, Jeff Sessions, in instituting new measures to punish the open borders cities, restricting them from federal law enforcement programs.

Conservatives shouldn’t be afraid of advocating for a strong federal government that will step in to perform the law enforcement duties sanctuary cities are cowering away from.
