Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has defended his platformâs decision to fact-check US President Donald Trump for the first time ever over his comments on the upcoming election.
A spat erupted between Twitter and Donald Trump, one of the platformâs most prolific users, after Twitter said that two of his posts could be misleading.
The President accused the social media giant of harbouring an anti-conservative bias, a sentiment that was fuelled by unearthed anti-Trump tweets from Twitterâs head of site integrity.
Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter in 2006, wrote that the site chose to put a fact-check warning on two of Trumpâs tweets because they may âmislead people into thinking they donât need to register to get a ballot.â
What happened to Trumpâs tweets?
Trump in the tweets accused the Democrat governor of California, without evidence, of sending vote-by-mail ballots to âanyone living on the state, no matter who they are or how they got thereâ and warned of rampant voter fraud in the November election.
The tweets were tagged with a fact-check label that redirects to reporting by media and journalists debunking Trumpâs claim. The President in response accused Twitter of suppressing free speech and interfering in the election. He also threatened to âstrongly regulateâ or shut down social media platforms outright.
The controversy is likely to raise further questions as to whether Twitter is willing to continue to append the label to other presidential tweets that have been considered false by third parties.
Donald Trump has recently doubled down on unsupported claims that former Rep. Joe Scarborough was involved in the 2001 death of his staffer, which was ruled accidental by authorities. Twitter said it would not fact-check these tweets, because they did not violate its policies, and would not remove them despite a request from the stafferâs widower.
A rebuke from Facebook
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, whose platform refuses to fact-check political speech and leaves it up to the media, challenged Twitterâs misinformation policy.
âWe have a different policy than, I think, Twitter on this,â he said in a Fox News interview on Wednesday. âI just believe strongly that Facebook shouldnât be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online.â
Referencing Zuckerbergâs remark, Dorsey tweeted that fact-checking politicians âdoes not make us an âarbiter of truthâ.â
He added: âOur intention is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show the information in dispute so people can judge for themselves. More transparency from us is critical so folks can clearly see the why behind our actions.â
Lacking integrity?
Twitter has come under fire among conservatives over its perceived bias against Donald Trump. One argument that fuelled that sentiment was a series of derogatory tweets about Republicans which Twitterâs head of site integrity, Yoel Roth, posted in 2016 and 2017.
The tweets referred to Trump as a âracist tangerineâ and to his administration as âNazis in the White House.â
Twitter, however, stood by Roth and explained that he was not the person who decided to fact-check Trump. âNo one person at Twitter is responsible for our policies,â the company said in a statement to several news outlets. âItâs unfortunate to see individual employees targeted for company decisions.â
Dorsey tweeted: âFact check: there is someone ultimately accountable for our actions as a company, and thatâs me. Please leave our employees out of this. Weâll continue to point out incorrect or disputed information about elections globally. And we will admit to and own any mistakes we make.â

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and her daughter are pushing for the chaos and mayhem in the streets of Minneapolis, Minn. that has turned the streets into a Somali-style war zone.
Omar has written tweets expressing sympathy for the terrorists in the streets burning down their city due to supposed concerns about police brutality.
Her daughter, Isra Hirsi re-tweeted a message calling for supplies to be brought to assist the terrorist far-left rioters who are turning the streets of Minnesota into a sub-Saharan hellscape:
Minneapolis has turned into an apocalyptic scene with the help of Omar and her daughter. The scenes from tonightâs âprotestsâ should make any decent American want to cry.
The superstore chain Target was looted by hordes of opportunistic multicultural diverse individuals as soon as the town descended into madness:

This is not the first time that Omarâs daughter has become involved with politics. She has emerged as a leader for the Youth Climate Strike that hopes to bring totalitarian communism to America under the guise of fixing the weather.

The Youth Climate Strike made its mark on Friday, Sept. 20 when 150 countries participated in the organizationâs largest mass protest to date. Estimates have placed up to 4 million people joining the cause in a powerful showing of solidarity that has placed serious momentum behind globalism and carbon taxes.
The movementâs chapter in the United States was co-founded in Jan. 2019 by Isra Hirsi, the 16-year-old daughter of Somalian-born Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), to encourage students to skip school and cause a public scene to fight climate change.
âThe climate crisis is such a massive issue that everything is impacted by it⌠everything is intertwined in some way,â Hirsi said before the massive event. She participated in the rally that took place at the Minnesota state capitol.
Hirsi has made it clear that the Youth Climate Strike is about more than raising awareness about the environment. It is really about stopping President Donald Trump, and making sure he is booted from the White House in 2020.
âPresident Trump, your actions are actually harming people. Millions of people across this country are being impacted by [your inaction],â Hirsi said during an appearance on Democracy Now. âUs young people are not going to stand down and allow this inaction to continue.â
âWe will continue to be on the streets until we see some change from your office,â she added. âWe are going to be voting you out because we need a leader that is actually going to take action on this incredible crisis.â
Following in her motherâs footsteps, Hirsi is not afraid to play the race card to advance her extreme leftist beliefs. She claims she stepped in to lead the environmental movement despite not knowing much about the cause, in order to steer it away from love of nature and toward social justice goals.
âGun control and climate change are [considered] white issues,â she told a VICE reporter. âBlack lives, police brutality, whatever, are not.â
â[Theyâre] talking about how much they love grass and their lakesâI canât connect with you on that,â Hirsi said of the toxic whiteness within the environmentalist movement. âSo itâs a subtle We donât want you here because they talk about things, knowing people like me canât relate.â
Omar and her daughter show that diversity is not our strength and multiculturalism means the death of Western Civilization. The proof is in the Minnesota streets right now.

New York State officials who provide information about illegal alien drivers to federal immigration enforcement agencies can now face felony charges.
An amendment to the highly controversial âGreen Light Law,â which went into effect in December and cleared illegal aliens to apply for New York State driverâs licenses, was slipped into the stateâs 2020 budget bill and signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in April, in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.
It is now a Class E felony for state officials, such as law enforcement officers, to disclose DMV records with agencies such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
âBorder Patrol for example, working the highway in the middle of the night and pulls over a vehicle, they canât run the plates to determine who owns that vehicle,â U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York J.P. Kennedy told WKBW. âI think itâs legislating obstruction and itâs very concerning to me.â
âWeâve seen how important communication and coordination in coming up with a response to the pandemic and sort of causing people to work in isolation itâs a recipe for disaster,â Kennedy continued. âIâm very concerned about this and I think itâs very unfortunate and makes me really question the motives of the individuals that enacted this law, if their professed interest in public safety and public health is really as important as they say they are.â

The masked Ryan Lizza asked McEnany what was possibly the most ignorant question of the day, âBy election day, what does the White House view as the number of dead Americans where you can say we successfully defeated this pandemic?â
Kaleigh McEnany responded by saying that although one death is too many, âWe never want to see a single individual lose their life.â She continued, by explaining that to be significantly under the 2.2 million deaths experts predicted the Wuhan coronavirus would cause in America if we didnât shut down the economy, is an achievement.
âBut when the voters go to the polls in November, and they want to judge this president on his response this pandemic, what is the number that Americans should tolerate, where they can argue that âyes,â he successfully controlled this pandemic.â
âI think that youâre asking the wrong question,â McEnany responded.
Lizza abruptly interrupted her, telling her, âPlease donât tell me I asked the wrong question!â
Ryan Lizza was fired from his previous job as a reporter for the New Yorker over allegations of sexual misconduct. He was also released from his contract with CNN, who in 2018 rehired Lizza. The few people who watch CNN, the low-ratings cable network channel, are fully aware that CNN hosts are not known for their moral character.
In December 2017, The Daily Beast reported that The New Yorker let go of its star reporter Ryan Lizza amid allegations of sexual misconduct, the magazine.
âThe New Yorker recently learned that Ryan Lizza engaged in what we believe was improper sexual conduct. We have reviewed the matter and, as a result, have severed ties with Lizza,â a spokesperson for the magazine said. âDue to a request for privacy, we are not commenting further.â
Lizza denied the claims.
Wigdor LLP, the law firm representing Lizzaâs accuser, issued a statement in response: âIn no way did Mr. Lizzaâs misconduct constitute a ârespectful relationshipâ as he has now tried to characterize it. Our client reported Mr. Lizzaâs actions to ensure that he would be held accountable and in the hope that by coming forward she would help other potential victims.â

On Friday an employee at a dock in northern Michigan shared an interesting story about a phone call with Gretchen Whitmerâs husband.
This was just days after Whitmer finally lifted her nonsensical ban on motorboating.
Whitmerâs husband used his wifeâs name to hopefully jump in line at the North Shore Dock, and get their boat in the water before the common rubes who also use the company for their boat and dock services.
The employee told him, âGet to the back of the line.â

Michigan State Senator Tom Barrett, R-Charlotte, said he was told to remove his Facebook post on the incident after Whitmerâs office told officials in the Senate GOP leaderâs office the report was false.

Kathy Griffin responded by telling Acosta to kill President Trump.

Kathy Griffin then lashed out at the breaking news editor for the Washington Examiner after he announced that he reached out to Twitter and the Secret Service and alerted them to her threat against President Trump.
Twitter users alerted the Secret Service.
This is not the first time Kathy Griffin has threatened President Trump.
She previously received a visit from the Secret Service after her Trump beheading stunt which also landed her on Interpolâs watch list.

After Twitter announced it would start âfact-checkingâ President Trumpâs tweets, it was revealed that the head of âsite integrityâ at the social media giant thinks everyone who voted for Trump is racist and that there are âactual Nazis in the White House.â
After California Governor Gavin Newsom signed an executive order to ensure all voters will receive mail ballots for the election in November, Trump warned in a tweet, âMail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be forged and even illegally printed out and fraudulently signed.â
Twitter then slapped several Trump tweets with a warning label that asserted, âthere is no evidence that mail-in ballots are linked to voter fraud,â citing CNN and the Washington Post.
The warning also highlighted numerous tweets from blue check mark leftists claiming Trump was wrong. As we document, most of these individuals are obsessed with Trump and spend virtually every day hyperventilating about him on Twitter â hardly the âneutralâ source one could rely on to provide a âfact checkâ.
This prompted Trump to later tweet, âRepublicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen.â
It has now emerged that Twitterâs âhead of site integrity,â Joel Roth, the leader of the team responsible for developing and enforcing Twitterâs rules, is a hardcore anti-Trump leftist.
âIâm just saying, we fly over those states that voted for a racist tangerine for a reason,â he tweeted in November 2016.
Roth also claimed that there were âACTUAL NAZIS IN THE WHITE HOUSE,â something that probably wouldnât stand up to a âfact checkâ.
He also compared White House counselor Kellyanne Conway to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels.
Roth has been head of site integrity at Twitter since July 2018 and is responsible for âelection securityâ and âmisinformation,â meaning he almost certainly played a key role in the decision to âfact-checkâ Trumpâs tweets.
In the meantime, We await Twitter âfact-checkingâ false claims about âRussian collusionâ or any other of the erroneous issues pushed by the blue check mark brigade that have proven to be spectacularly wrong.
