New York National Guard troops were deployed Tuesday to assemble a containment area as part of the state’s effort to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

The deployment to a New Rochelle command post comes after Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) announced an additional 25 cases of the deadly illness were confirmed overnight. Though Cuomo did not comment on the development in New Rochelle, the Westchester County town where a bulk of the state’s 165 cases are located, he did tell CNN that officials are “taking more dramatic actions in that cluster.” The “panic that you see is unwarranted,” the governor added. “We have dealt with worse viruses.”

Cuomo warned that New York has not conducted enough tests and that the ones in China and South Korea appear to be more accurate. “What you will see is the number will continue to increase because they have increased,” he stated. “We’re not testing enough people to know where it is.”

Cuomo also confirmed that officials are considering New York City’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade over the virus that originated from Wuhan, China.

“You calibrate your response to the time and the facts and the circumstances in that place at that time,” said the governor. “So parades, etc. we look at that on a daily basis.”

Cuomo’s comments come after he announced New York is using prison labor to produce its own hand sanitizer product in an effort to offset price gougers selling the product at sky-high prices.

“We are introducing New York State clean hand sanitizer, made conveniently by the state of New York,” he said. “To Purell, and Mr. Amazon and Mr. eBay, if you continue the price gouging, we will introduce our product, which is superior to your product. And you don’t even have the floral bouquet, so stop price gouging.”

As of Tuesday, over 500 cases and 22 deaths due to the virus were reported from 34 states and Washington, D.C.

NYC HARDWARE STORE SELLING HAND SANITIZER FOR $109 A BOTTLE

NYC Hardware Store Selling Hand Sanitizer For $109 a Bottle

Shameless price gouging.

  – MARCH 10, 2020

In yet another shameless act of price gouging, a hardware store in New York is selling bottles of hand sanitizer for $109 dollars a pop.

Yes, really.

Taking full advantage of the growing hysteria surrounding coronavirus, Scheman & Grant Hardware at Eighth Avenue and 38th Street is now selling 1200 ml bottles of Purell that normally retail for $5.49 for a gargantuan $79 dollars.

Meanwhile, larger 2 liter bottles of Purell are selling for $109 each.

The shocking prices are not deterring customers. The smaller bottles are flying off the shelves and the $109 bottles have sold out.

“Everyone who comes in the store buys them. We sold about fifty of those today,” one employee told the New York Post.

Mayor Bill de Blasio reacted by saying the situation sounded like price gouging and that he would be sending the Department of Consumer Affairs to “pay them a visit immediately.”

However, economist Peter Schiff said stores couldn’t be blamed for hiking prices in times of massive demand.

“People are raising prices for certain supplies. Well of course,” Schiff said. “Demand’s going up. Of course you’re going to raise prices! What are you supposed to do? If you don’t raise prices, all of your stuff is going to get bought by a few people who are then going to hoard it or resell it on the black market. Prices are a rationing mechanism.”

(FROM CHICAGO) – Resurrection College Prep joins Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School in closing over coronavirus concerns

Resurrection College Prep High School on the Northwest Side Tuesday morning became the latest Chicago area school to announce a closure because of concerns about the new coronavirus.

The private, all-girls Roman Catholic school, at 7500 W. Talcott Ave. in the Norwood Park West neighborhood, told parents to arrange pickup for their children as of 10 a.m. Tuesday after it was learned a member of its community had contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. The school also will be closed Wednesday and a deep cleaning of the property will be conducted, school officials wrote in a social media post.

A Lakeview synagogue and attached day school also were closed Tuesday because a member of the synagogue who has children in the school tested positive for COVID-19, a rabbi with Anshe Emet said.

Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School and Anshe Emet Synagogue sent out email notices Monday to families who have kids in the primary school or who attend the synagogue. Rabbi Michael Siegel said a parent was tested Monday and later made Siegel aware the result was positive.

Siegel, along with Gary Weisserman, head of the school, said the decision to close the school and synagogue were made “out of an abundance of caution” while the children whose parent tested positive also are tested.

“Late this evening we received confirmation that the parent has tested positive for COVID-19. While the Department of Public Health advised that closure is not required, out of an abundance of caution we are canceling school (and all after-school activities) … while we continue to consult with public health officials,” Weisserman wrote in an email.

Siegel said the person who tested positive has not been on campus within the last month and is self-quarantined at home along with the entire family.

“To be very clear, no Bernard Zell student or staff member has been diagnosed with COVID-19, and based on conversations with medical experts, we believe the risk to our students and faculty is low. This individual’s spouse and children remain asymptomatic but will undergo testing first thing in the morning,” Weisserman said.

Since the school and synagogue share the same space, the building will be closed and office staff was told to stay home Tuesday. The building is to undergo a deep cleaning of all surfaces, officials said.

The announcements come in the wake of other school closures.

Loyola Academy, a private Jesuit high school at 1100 Laramie Ave. in Wilmette, was closed Monday and Tuesday because a student at the school had contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. School officials said the day would be spent coordinating with public health officials and doing an “enhanced cleaning” of the school.

Classes were canceled at Vaughn Occupational High School for the week beginning Monday, March 9, after a Chicago woman in her 50s who works there as a special education classroom assistant tested positive for coronavirus, marking the sixth case in Illinois.

There have been 11 cases of coronavirus in Illinois as of Monday night. Gov. J.B. Pritzker issued a statewide disaster proclamation, making Illinois the 14th state to declare an emergency in response to the outbreak of the respiratory virus. The proclamation will allow Illinois to tap additional state and federal resources to combat the spread of the new virus and better coordinate its response.

It was not clear whether the Anshe Emet case was one of the four reported in Chicago Monday. A city official did not immediately respond to a request for more information.

Liberal Groups Fight for Release of Chinese Illegal Immigrants Into US Amidst Coronavirus Epidemic

Far-left groups are once again undermining the security and safety of the US.

By Shane Trejo – 3/9/2020

328 Chinese Nationals have been caught trying to enter the United States illegally this year, and left-wing groups like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) are fighting to have them released into the country.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf noted that legal challenges to the Trump administration’s Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) policy could result in potentially dangerous migrants, such as these 328 Chinese Nationals, being released into the U.S. Many of these migrants are being kept on the Mexican side of the border because of the MPP.

“MPP has an uncertain future. We know from experience that the journey to the U.S. border puts migrants in poor conditions — and they often arrive with no passports, medical histories, or travel manifests. The administration will continue to closely monitor the virus globally, as well as in our hemisphere, and will adjust our proactive measures as necessary,” Wolf said.

DHS acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli echoed similar concerns as Wolf when he spoke to the Washington Examiner.

“The department’s top priority is the safety of the American people, and President Trump has directed an aggressive, coordinated interagency response to fulfill that mission,” Cuccinelli said.

“The American people can be assured that we’re doing everything we can to protect our homeland. While the general risk to the American public remains low, DHS has mobilized a departmentwide response to keep Americans safe, secure, and informed. Fortunately, we were able to engage DHS assistance early to prevent the spread of this virus in the U.S. We remain locked arm-in-arm with our interagency partners, HHS and CDC health professionals, and state and local officials acting as one to safeguard the health and safety of the American people,” he added.

“We have a unique public health threat posed by individuals arriving unlawfully at the border. Any halting of MPP would exacerbate that threat,” another senior official in the administration said.

The primary organization that is suing to stop the MPP is the ACLU, the notorious far-left outlet is using their signature lawfare to prevent the Trump administration from enforcing the law.

“If the administration had any respect for the law or any sense of decency, it would end this program immediately,” said Judy Rabinovitz, who works as special counsel for the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project, which has challenged the program, said in a statement released after a recent court order limited the MPP.

“We will continue working to permanently end this illegal and inhumane policy,” she added.

The ACLU has also noted that they will be watching the Trump’s administration response to the coronavirus intently, waiting in the weeds to issue legal challenges against anything that they determine to be improper.

“The ACLU will be watching closely to make sure the government heeds these experts’ recommendations, and that its response isscientifically justified and no more intrusive on civil liberties than absolutely necessary,” they wrote.

Subversive left-wing special interest groups like the ACLU do everything they can to prevent America from being great again.

China’s coronavirus recovery is ‘all fake,’ whistleblowers and residents claim

CAP

By Yuan Ruiyang and Isabelle Li

China’s claims of how it’s handling coronavirus recovery should be taken with more than a few grains of salt.

Even before COVID-19 became a global crisis, Chinese leaders had been criticized for their handling of the situation and lack of transparency about the disease’s progression. Things now look like they’re on the upswing, and businesses even appear to be headed back to work — but whistleblowers and local officials tell Caixan that’s just a carefully crafted ruse.

Beijing has spent much of the outbreak pushing districts to carry on business as usual, with some local governments subsidizing electricity costs and even installing mandatory productivity quotas. Zhejiang, an province east of the epicenter city of Wuhan, claimed as of Feb. 24 it had restored 98.6 percent of its pre-coronavirus work capacity.

But civil servants tell Caixan that businesses are actually faking these numbers. Beijing had started checking Zhejiang businesses’ electricity consumption levels, so district officials ordered the companies to start leaving their lights and machinery on all day to drive the numbers up, one civil servant said. Businesses have reportedly falsified staff attendance logs as well — they “would rather waste a small amount of money on power than irritate local officials,” Caixan writes.

In Wuhan, officials have tried to make it appear that recovery efforts are going smoothly. But when “central leaders” personally survey disinfecting regimens and food delivery, local officials “make a special effort” for them and them alone, one resident told Caixan. And in a video circulating on social media, residents can be seen shouting at visiting leaders from the apartments where they’re being quarantined — “Fake, it’s all fake.” Read more at CaixanKathryn Krawczyk

BBC PUBLISHES LEAKED IRAN FOOTAGE SHOWING BAGGED BODIES OF COVID-19 VICTIMS PILING UP

BBC Publishes Leaked Iran Footage Showing Bagged Bodies Of Covid-19 Victims Piling Up

“If these are confirmed to be from Corona as videos claim, death toll is higher than the government claims (officially at 77).”

Zero Hedge – MARCH 4, 2020

More shocking leaked footage published by the BBC shows bodies piling up at a local morgue in Qom, said to be victims of the country’s spiraling coronavirus outbreak. Located 140km to the south of Tehran, Qom is believed ground zero for Iran’s epidemic, and crucially is a popular place of Shia religious pilgrimage.

Mideast-based correspondent Joyce Karam comments of the newly published video: “If these are confirmed to be from Corona as videos claim, death toll is higher than the government claims (officially at 77).”

As of Tuesday Iranian health officials announced 2,336 coronavirus cases and 77 dead, including 23 parliament members confirmed for the virus, which is roughly 10% of Iran’s legislature.

All of this strongly suggests much bigger numbers of infected nationwide, after multiple reports alleged the Islamic Republic is hiding its true numbers, or at least refusing to test.

Chuck Todd and the rest of the propaganda goon machine are gas lighting America by claiming that they didn’t push a manufactured narrative claiming that the Trump Administration is calling the Coronavirus outbreak a hoax. Chuck Todd, in a fit of hypocritical outrage went as far as to confront Vice President Mike Pence who is leading the effort to respond to the Coronavirus outbreak in the United States. Todd insists that no one in the mainstream media created anything resembling what the Trump Administration claims. Of course, as usual, Chuck Todd neglected to check the facts.

Further leaked video published in the series Tuesday by BBC Persian shows health workers in full Hazmat gear burying victims believed infected by Covid-19.

The country is bracing itself for the possibility of “tens of thousands” getting tested and possibly being confirmed for the virus after the latest spike in cases, an official said previously.

Among the new series of leaked videos includes footage that appears to show preparations for mass graves as the crisis rapidly worsens in the Islamic Republic.

Ayatollah Khamenei and others among Tehran’s top leadership have claimed Iran’s handling of the epidemic has been timely and transparent.

But on Tuesday the supreme leader ordered the armed forces to assist Health Ministry in combating the spread.

As the footage went viral after first appearing on Iranian social, later picked up by BBC, the video maker’s commentary has been translated and captioned in the below, which noted the number of bodies being processed “seems like it’s never ending”:

It’s as yet unclear what role national troops could play, but hundreds of thousands could be mobilized: “After downplaying the coronavirus as recently as last week, Iranian authorities now say they have plans to potentially mobilize 300,000 soldiers and volunteers to confront the virus,” Fox News reported citing state sources.

The series of clips published by BBC Persian Tuesday is not the first such to come out of Iran, but underscores the widespread allegation that authorities are greatly downplaying the true death toll and infected count.
