Liz Cheney Asks If Pelosi Saw Ukraine Call Transcript Before Its Release: ‘Starting to Seem Like a Political Setup’

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on Monday said an intelligence official’s complaint that President Trump sought help from Ukraine in the 2020 elections “is starting to seem like a political setup.”

Cheney tweeted a clip of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appearing to admit she knew what was in the transcript of a July 25 Trump phone call with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky even before the White House released the transcript of the call last Wednesday.

Pelosi, in an interview that aired Sunday on CBS News 60 Minutes, said Trump called her and they discussed the phone call before the transcript was released.

According to the New York Times, Trump and Pelosi’s phone call took place on Tuesday. The White House released the transcript on Wednesday.

But Pelosi said during the interview about her call with Trump, “He told me it was perfect. There was nothing in the call. But I know what was in the call. I mean, we — it was in the public domain.”

When Trump and Pelosi had spoken Tuesday, the call was not yet “in the public domain.”

Fred Fleitz, a former CIA analyst and chief of staff to former National Security Adviser John Bolton, has questioned whether the intelligence official who lodged a whistleblower complaint against Trump had help writing the complaint from Democrat lawmakers or their staff members.

He wrote in a New York Post op-ed on Thursday:

I am very familiar with transcripts of presidential phone calls since I edited and processed dozens of them when I worked for the NSC. I also know a lot about intelligence whistleblowers from my time with the CIA.

My suspicions grew this morning when I saw the declassified whistleblowing complaint. It appears to be written by a law professor and includes legal references and detailed footnotes. It also has an unusual legalistic reference on how this complaint should be classified.

From my experience, such an extremely polished whistleblowing complaint is unheard of. This document looks as if this leaker had outside help, possibly from congressional members or staff.

Moreover, it looks like more than a coincidence that this complaint surfaced and was directed to the House Intelligence Committee just after Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), an outspoken opponent of President Trump, expressed numerous complaints in August 2019 accusing President Trump of abusing aid to Ukraine to hurt Joe Biden. This includes an August 28 tweet that closely resembled the whistleblowing complaint.

House Republicans need to ask the whistleblower under oath whether he spoke to the press or Congress about his complaint.

Rush Limbaugh says that America is in a “cold civil war” because President Trump is on the verge of fully exposing the deep state.

The radio host told his vast listening audience that latest impeachment efforts against Trump were just another attempt to overturn the 2016 election results and “nothing more than the Steele dossier 2.0.”

Limbaugh said that the Washington establishment was getting increasingly edgy because Trump threatens to destroy their power base for good.

“Their careers, their fortunes, their corruption. There are terribly big stakes involved here for these people. And Trump is on the cusp of overturning it and exposing it,” Limbaugh said.

He also noted that the basis for the impeachment inquiry against Trump is just more manufactured opposition research.

“The media is not media. It’s just Democrats who work in the media, and the whole group of ’em is aligned. And what we are in the middle of now, folks, is a Cold Civil War,” he said.

Last night, President Trump quote tweeted Pastor Robert Jeffress, who told Fox News, “If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.”

House Democrats Vote to Give Illegal Immigrants Healthcare, Leave Veterans Hanging

On September 26, 2019, House Democrats voted to pass  H.R. 3525, the controversial U.S. Border Patrol Medical Screening Standards Act. 

This bill would effectively give illegal immigrants better healthcare than U.S. veterans and servicemembers.
Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise decried the passage of this bill on September 26th.

“House Democrats just voted to prioritize health care for illegal immigrants over health care for our veterans. What a disgrace!,” he said in a tweet.

U.S. Congressman Mark Walker also condemned this vote on his website.

He stated, “Earlier this week, I said impeachment was the House Democrats only agenda. I was mistaken. They just passed legislation that will give illegal immigrants better health care records than our veterans and servicemembers. More and more they are making their priorities clear and it’s absolutely shameful.”

However, there is a major problem with this bill, which Walker notes:

The problem? The Veterans Administration (VA) will not have similar electronic health records systems in place for nine years and the Department of Defense (DOD) will not have those systems for another five years.

Additionally, the new requirements are not funded, so DHS would be forced to take funds from other agency efforts including border security, combatting terrorism, stopping drug and human trafficking, and natural disaster response.

As the days go by, the present-day Democratic Party continues to show its contempt towards everyday Americans by favoring destabilizing policies like mass migration.

US President Donald Trump is calling for House Intel Committee chair Adam Schiff to resign and be investigated, after the California Democrat read a ‘parody’ version of the White House transcript into official record.

Schiff “totally made up my conversation with Ukraine President and read it to Congress,” Trump tweeted out on Friday.

He must resign and be investigated. He has been doing this for two years. He is a sick man!

On Thursday, the congressman pretended to read the transcript provided by the White House of Trump’s conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, only to use his own words and interpretations. When called on it, he claimed it was a “parody.”

The “two years” bit was a reference to Schiff’s role in promoting the ‘Russiagate’ conspiracy theory. From his perch on the Intelligence Committee, the congressman has been a regular fixture on cable channels critical of the president, going so far as to claim he had evidence of Trump’s “collusion” with Russia. Special counsel Robert Mueller found none, however, and Schiff was never called to account for claims to the contrary.

Schiff’s eventual response on Twitter was to say Trump’s “own words and deeds mock themselves” and therefore need no additional mockery. He also claimed, again, that Trump “engaged in a shakedown to get election dirt from a foreign country. And then… tried to cover it up.”

Friday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” network anchor Chris Wallace said the “spin” by President Donald Trump’s defenders was “deeply misleading.”

Wallace said, “The spinning that has been done by the president’s defenders over the last 24 hours since this very damaging whistleblower complaint came out, the spinning is is not surprising but it is astonishing, and I think deeply misleading.”

He continued, “Let’s look at what the whistleblower says. The whistleblower says it was a troubling call in which the president asked the Ukrainian president to investigate and to look at the allegation of this wrongdoing by Vice President Biden and by his son. We now have a rough transcript of that phone call and that’s exactly what happened.”

He added, “What is clear from reading the complaint that it is a serious allegation, that a lot of it has proven to be borne out already. The whistle-blower lays out a blueprint from talking to various officials in the White House, various officials in the State Department. And to dismiss this as a political hack seems to me to be an effort by the president defenders to try to make nothing out of something and there is something there.”

Appearing on CNN’s New Day show Friday morning, Never Trump former Ohio Governor John Kasich (R) stunned anchor Alisyn Camerota by throwing cold water on the media and Democrats’ rush to impeach President Donald Trump over his July 25 phone call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Kasich cautioned over impeaching Trump for “one phone call”. Kasich said he was back in Ohio and that “nobody is talking about this, nobody’s coming up to me saying, ‘oh my goodness!’”

Camerota asked Kasich if that ‘one phone call’ showed criminality, “doesn’t it (lead to impeachment)?, Kasich replied that was a debate and that you would not find many Republicans in Congress who believe the call was criminal, but they might criticize and condemn Trump’s behavior over it.

When Camerota tried to make the case for Democrats that they are not rushing on impeachment, saying, “in fairness to the Democrats it has been three years” and that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was cautious by not going ahead with impeaching Trump with regard to the Mueller Russia investigation, Kasich called her out by telling her Pelosi couldn’t because there was nothing to the Mueller report to impeach Trump over.

Kasich did say he supports further investigation but that “the jury is till out in my mind” as to whether Trump should be impeached. Kasich condemned Trump’s conduct during and after the phone call, but is not there yet on impeachment.

Kasich closed by warning about the obsession for impeachment, “This is not a light matter. If all of a sudden everybody can be impeached, then it has no power.”

His is a rare voice of caution and reason among the Never Trump crowd, Democrats and media this week. The interview is worth listening to in its entirety. Transcript will be posted when available from CNN.

With impeachment efforts against President Donald Trump resting on the content of a single phone call, who could blame Congressman Adam Schiff for embellishing the truth a little, all to sell his “Orange Man Bad” narrative.

Though Trump released a transcript of the call in question on Wednesday, the Democrat-controlled House Intelligence Committee pressed ahead with questioning Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire on Thursday, about his handling of the whistleblower complaint that first thrust the phone call into the spotlight.

His thunder stolen by the release of the transcript – which failed to reveal the quid-pro-quo arrangement between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Democrats had alleged – Schiff added some dramatic flourishes to his summary of the call as Maguire’s hearing opened, describing “the essence of what the president communicates.”

“We’ve been very good to your country. Very good. No other country has done as much as we have. But you know what? I don’t see much reciprocity here. I hear what you want. I have a favor I want from you, though. And I’m gonna say this only seven times, so you better listen good.”

“I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand, lots of it. On this and on that. I’m going to put you in touch with people…and by the way don’t call me again. I’ll call you when you’ve done what I asked.”

Sounds dramatic, but the only problem? Trump didn’t say any of this. Not a word. Schiff was mocked by Republican lawmakers and pundits for being so “desperate” that he resorted to rewriting the call into “unhinged ‘Orange Man Bad’ fan fiction.”

Chastised by Republicans on the committee, Schiff admitted that his mad-libbed re-telling of the call was “parody,” a stand-up routine of sorts from the California congressman. “It’s a shame that we started off this hearing with fictional remarks,” Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) said. “Unfortunately today, many innocent Americans are going to turn on their TV and the media is only going to show that section of what the chairman had to say.”

From his wooden delivery to his poor imitation of Trump, Schiff will unlikely be leaving Washington DC for Hollywood any time soon. However, the California Democrat is well versed in grandiose storytelling. Schiff branded the idea of probing Joe Biden’s son Hunter over his role at a Ukrainian gas holding as “making up dirt” – this from the same Schiff who kept audiences on edge for the last two years by promising to reveal “direct evidence” of “Russian collusion” hiding “in plain sight.”

Schiff’s promises never amounted to anything beyond the contents of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s final report and, perhaps with Russia seeming a dead end, the congressman is now looking to Ukraine to satisfy his appetite for investigation.

The actual Trump quote on Biden in the conversation with Zelensky goes as follows: “The other thing, there’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution [of the Burisma Holding where Hunter Biden was on board of directors] and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the attorney general [William Barr] would be great.”
