The Democrats are weaponizing Covid-19 against Trump to do what Russiagate & impeachment could not

By Robert Bridge

Nobody in their right mind would wish for a global pandemic. Yet, such wisdom may seem less obvious in an election year as the Democrats look prepared to use the coronavirus as a weapon in their quest to unseat Trump.

Whatever one may think about the coronavirus — that it has been overblown, underestimated, or handled with impeccable care — one thing is indisputable: Trump’s political opponents will be hard-pressed not to use Covid-19 as yet another way of portraying the Republican leader as unworthy of the White House. After all, we are talking about the year 2020, when the American people are staring down the barrel of the most pivotal presidential election to come along in many years. In other words, nothing should surprise us.

Republican-Democrat infighting goes viral

Even as reports fly that President Trump will declare a national emergency, with the US bracing itself for the coronavirus pandemic, it appears the Democrats and Republicans will never agree on what definite steps should be taken. This could turn a manageable emergency into a full-blown crisis.

CAP

This week, Trump was dragged over the media coals for drawing analogies between the “common flu” and the coronavirus, remarking that the former disease has been responsible for far more fatalities to date. And in fact, Trump was correct. It’s easy to forget, amid all the hysteria that has greeted the aspiring scourge, that just several dozen Americans have died from Covid-19. But since there is no vaccination available against the disease, as there is for the common flu, Trump was slammed for not mentioning that information.

“Trump failed to point out in his tweet that there is currently no cure or vaccine for the coronavirus, while flu vaccines are available to many,” noted the Denver Channel, an affiliate of ABC News.

Earlier, Trump had once again incurred the wrath of his detractors, of which there is no shortage, when he dared to second guess the findings of the World Health Organization (WHO), which put the fatality rate for coronavirus at 3.4 percent, an alarmingly high kill rate for a disease.

“Well, I think the 3.4 percent is really a false number,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News. “Now, and this is just my hunch, and — but based on a lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this,” the real figure is “way under 1 percent,” he said.

Naturally, the media was quick to pounce on Trump as a snake-oil salesman of bad science, apparently happy to fudge figures during a crisis just to save his presidency. What the mainstream media failed to mention, however, is that a number of medical authorities have come out in support of Trump’s assertion that the fatality stats are way overblown.

CAP

In an unusually sober and rational article on Covid-19, published in Slate, Dr. Jeremy Samuel Faust used an ingenious method for calculating the true fatality rate by examining data taken from the “natural laboratory” of the Diamond Princess Cruise ship, which had been quarantined off the coast of Japan with 3,711 miserable passengers on board. Of that number, 705 passengers tested positive for COVID-19, while six passengers — all of them over the age of 70 years old — eventually died from the illness. That put the fatality rate at just 0.85 percent.

Did Dr. Faust’s analysis calm the hysteria that has taken much of the world by storm? Are you kidding? In fact, it has only gotten worse, and the reason could very well be connected to the political firestorm that has engulfed the country since 2016.

Covid-19: A tempest in a political tinderbox?

Although just a handful of Americans have lost their lives to the coronavirus, the public is behaving as though Godzilla had just stomped ashore, threatening to wreak death and destruction from sea to shining sea. Not only has Wall Street suffered record losses, events across the country that require the attendance of disease-carrying humans have been duly cancelled. The hysteria is not confined to the US sanatorium; a number of countries are experiencing food and supply shortages due to panic buying.

Amid such an unprecedented global meltdown, could anyone fault Trump for imposing a ban on European citizens from traveling to the United States for 30 days? Of course they could! After all, the Orange Man hunkered down on Pennsylvania Avenue can do absolutely nothing good, despite the fact that similar methods initiated by the Chinese government seems to have halted the spread of the disease.

Any guesses as to how the Democrats have chosen to slam Trump’s European travel ban? At a time when the United States is on the verge of becoming more isolationist at any time in its recent history, slamming shut its border to European states, which make up some of the world’s biggest economies, the Democrats are focusing their attention on Trump’s use of the term “foreign virus” to describe the challenge facing the nation.

Twitter is currently littered with comments from Democrats accusing the Trump administration of resorting to racism and xenophobia in its effort to contain the disease.

CAP

Joe Biden, the former vice president who looks positioned to take on Trump in November, also did not miss a cheap opportunity to give the racist slur a drive around the Beltway.

“Neither should we panic or fall back on xenophobia,” Biden said in an address on Thursday. “Labeling Covid-19 a ‘foreign virus’ does not displace accountability for the misjudgments that have been taken, thus far, by the Trump administration.”

Amid all this sickening self-righteousness, I am surprised the Democrats have not accused the Republicans for the ‘cultural appropriation’ of the deadly virus, which first reared its head in China.

Is this really the time for a national hand-wringing debate over semantics? After all, the world lived happily with the word ‘Spanish flu’ for centuries without Liberals uttering any objections (and despite the fact that the 1918 influenza pandemic is said to have killed up to 50 million people). But now that the question of the Democrats winning ultimate power in Washington, DC is riding on the line, breathing the term “foreign virus” has struck a nerve with Team Woke.

In closing, there is one important feature about COVID-19 that has some bearing on the upcoming presidential showdown. Since the disease seems to be particularly dangerous to individuals over the age of 70, the Democrats and Republicans — who are all fielding septuagenarians in November — would do well to put aside their political backstabbing and find a way to beat the coronavirus. Their political lives could literally depend upon it.

Martial law is coming? Washington debunks hoax message about coronavirus telling Americans to stockpile everything in sight

CAP

Americans have been bombarded with fake messages stating that President Donald Trump will declare martial law in days. The government had to intervene to prevent a wave of panic.

The seemingly unstoppable spread of coronavirus has already led the government to declare a national emergency over the deadly disease that has so far claimed 41 lives nationwide, and infected more than 1,600 people across the country, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

However, certain unsavory characters apparently decided to exploit the already tense situation to stoke more fear in the hearts of Americans and provoke real panic. People across the US received text messages claiming the president is about to impose martial law in a day or two, while urging people to stockpile supplies. This comes as many shops have already reportedly run out of toilet paper among other things.

CAP

The messages, citing insider information from “military friends up in DC,” and warning of nothing less than a “two week mandatory quarantine for the nation,” fell on fertile ground. It immediately became a hot topic on social media as people posted thousands of messages on the topic.

Some rushed to break the “bad news” or to wonder if anyone else received the disturbing message. Others said that many of their friends forwarded the messages to them.

More attentive readers noticed, however, that the messages, which were fake, referred to Trump’s plan to invoke the Stafford Act as the reason for claiming martial law is coming.

In fact, the president already invoked the law two days ago when he declared a national emergency. The government unlocked additional powers and funding for disaster response and involved the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the fight against coronavirus – but nothing close to martial law was imposed.

Still, the impact of the hoax apparently reached such proportions that the National Security Council decided it was time to intervene, posting a statement on Twitter saying the text message rumors were fake.

CAP

However, this was not enough to convince everyone that there is no possibility of martial law being imposed in a week or two.

CORONAVIRUS – Canadian Students Gather at St. Patrick’s Day Party, Laugh About Spreading Coronavirus

Ignored police warnings not to congregate.

Students in Kingston, Ontario ignored warnings about gathering in large groups and attended a St. Patrick’s Day party while laughing at the prospect of spreading the coronavirus.

Dismissing an advisory by police not to congregate, the students appeared to be more fixated on getting drunk than anything else.

“Last week, Kingston Police, Public Health and Queen’s University urged students not to attend St. Patricks Day parties. Today, the university district streets are filled with students- many telling me they aren’t afraid of COVID-19,” tweeted Kraig Krause.

One video features a young man acknowledging that such parties will help spread COVID-19.

“I’m not worried. I know it will. It’s not a question. It will definitely spread the disease because it will definitely spread the disease,” he said.

The man then burst out in laughter before adding, ” You know, do what you can. If you’re sick, then don’t go. If you’re worried about it, then don’t go. If you do attend these, be in isolation after the fact. You can do your part for the community.”

Another clip shows a young woman claiming, “I have a compromised immune system, but I’m still only 21 … I’m not even worried because I take supplements and I self medicate.”

Reportedly, Kingston Police responded to the gathering by ordering students to get off the streets.

Leftists Ecstatic That Trump Could Have Coronavirus

‘Fingers crossed’ and ‘prayer’ memes as fanatics hope Trump and Pence will die so Pelosi will become President

Steve Watson

Leftists reacted with glee upon hearing the news that President Trump, as well as VP Pence, came into contact with a foreign official who has since tested positive for Covid19, the coronavirus.

Both the President and Vice President met with Brazilian government official Fabio Wajngarten last week.

CAP

Wajngarten, the press secretary for Brazilian Presdident Jair Bolsonaro, has since tested positive for coronavirus. Trump has said he is not concerned about the meeting.

However, many leftists expressed joy that the President could have been exposed to the virus, with several using ‘fingers crossed’ memes, clearly hoping that Trump becomes ill and dies.

Liberal ideology & virtue signaling put before people’s HEALTH, as Macron, Merkel defend open borders amid Covid-19 spread

CAP

By Neil Clark

Dealing with Covid-19, Emmanuel Macron seems to be singing from the same hymn sheet as Angela Merkel, who is also against closing borders, but is this not a case of Western liberal ideology overriding necessity and common sense?

Compare and contrast. In his speech to the nation last night, Macron declared: “This virus has no passport.” He added: “We will undoubtedly take measures to close borders, but only when it is relevant… It is at the European level that we have built our freedoms.”

‘Coronavirus has no passport!’ Macron insists no need to close French borders unless EU agrees, as he orders school & uni shutdown

CAP

Macron is closing all schools, nurseries, universities and day care centres from next week and has called on the vulnerable to isolate themselves. But if anyone can still come into France unchecked from countries where coronavirus is even more of a problem, won’t those measures be undermined?

Ditto Germany. Angela Merkel said this week that “we in Germany, in any case, are of the opinion that border closures are not an appropriate response to the challenge.”

Contrast this ‘open borders,’ ‘we must protect Schengen’ approach with that of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary who are all EU member states. Declaring a 30-day ‘state of emergency,’ the Czech government has closed its borders to people from 15 countries hit by coronavirus and banned its citizens from visiting these countries too. From Monday next week, all international travel to and from Czechia will be essentially prohibited.

Slovakia is closing its borders today to all foreigners except those who have a residency permit, while announcing that all Slovaks who have been abroad will have to face two weeks of quarantine. Austria has barred all people entering the country from Italy, unless they have a medical certificate. Hungary has banned arrivals from Italy, China and Iran.

But in Western Europe, it seems a commitment to maintaining ‘open borders,’ even at a time of a potentially very extreme health crisis, trumps other concerns.

An example of this fundamentalist and very dogmatic approach can be seen in the tweet from Belgian MEP Guy Verhofstadt who declared: “Nationalism isn’t the answer to COV19, because viruses don’t care about borders or nationalities.”

CAP

International travel may broaden the mind, but unfortunately, it also helps Covid-19 to spread.

You really don’t have to be Albert Einstein to understand that the more open the borders, the greater chance of a country seeing its coronavirus cases rise. Yet the most powerful countries in the EU – unlike the more pragmatic ones in central and eastern Europe – seem to be putting virtue signaling and liberal ideology first. Of course, there’s a moral case that can be made for ‘free movement,’ but in a time of crisis, governments have to forget all that and put protecting their own citizens first. Nationalism? No, it’s just doing what governments are elected to do.

If we can criticize Macron and Merkel on these grounds, we can criticize Boris Johnson too. Plane loads of people arriving from the worst affected areas of Italy have been arriving in Britain without any proper checks. On last night’s BBC Question Time, Professor John Ashton, a former director of public health, noted how around 3,000 supporters of the Spanish football team Atletico Madrid were in Liverpool this week for a Champions League tie. Spain’s Corona cases, as of Wednesday, had surpassed 1,600 with about half of them in the Madrid region.

Two-thirds of Spain’s deaths from the virus have occurred in the Madrid region. Yet, as Professor Ashton pointed out, the Madrilenos would have been out and about in Liverpool on Tuesday and Wednesday, drinking in bars, staying in hotels, traveling on public transport. How can governments say they are doing everything they can to stop the spread of coronavirus when unrestricted travel from Covid-19 ‘hotspots’ is still taking place?

It may be true, as Macron says, that “It is at the European level that we have built our freedoms,” but what price ‘freedom’ if it means the ‘freedom’ to die from coronavirus because the most logical, common sense step of all is not taken?

MMA trainer pleads for help as he’s forced to wait with dead body of sister for 36 HOURS in coronavirus-hit Italy

CAP

Italian mixed martial arts trainer Luca Franzese has posted a distressing video in which he pleads for help as the body of his dead sister lies in the background after she was infected with the coronavirus.

Franzese, who has also appeared as an actor on the popular TV series ‘Gomorrah’, posted a series of videos on social media last weekend in which he appeals for help as the body of his sister Teresa lies in bed behind him.

Teresa Franzese, 47, reportedly died on Saturday after showing symptoms of Covid-19 for several days.

“I am making this video for the good of Italy, for the good of Naples,” a distraught Luca says in the video.

“My sister died last night, probably because of the virus, and I’ve been waiting for answers since last night.

CAP

“I had to force them to come and do the test. I’ve had to put myself in self-isolation. I might have the virus.

“To keep my sister alive, I tried to give her mouth to mouth resuscitation and no one cared, no one is calling me.

“We are ruined, Italy has abandoned us. But we must give each other strength.”

The trainer-turned-actor later confirmed that his sister, who had a form of epilepsy, had tested positive for Covid-19.

He said he had been forced to wait for 36 hours with her body at home – where elderly relatives were also staying – as he desperately sought funeral services who would come and take her body away for burial.

CAP

Teresa Franzese was reportedly the fourth person to die of the coronavirus in the southern Italian region of Campania, where there have been more than 120 cases of the disease.

Local councillor Francesco Emilio Borrelli said that the confusion over Teresa Franzese’s death came from the fact that she had been the first person to die at home from the virus.

“It was the first case in Italy in which a person with the virus dies at home, so there was some confusion on what to do,” he said, Al Jazeera reported.

“The family [exemplifies] altruism, they are doing everything they can to protect their community, and the community is staying close to them by bringing food.

“Now the big problem is that they have been closed in there for four days, and no one is taking away their trash. It’s getting unhygienic and we don’t know what to do about it. Someone needs to help them.”

A funeral home eventually agreed to come and take the body after Luca Franzese’s was widely shared online.

“It was surreal. We used masks, sterile shoes, hazmat suits, glasses, and gloves. Luca and another relative were there, but other family members were all in another room,” said Pasquale Pernice, an employee at the Aprea Funeral Home service.

Italy has recorded almost 12,500 cases of the coronavirus pandemic, with more than 820 people dying of the disease, making it the worst-hit country outside of China.

The country and its 60 million population have been placed on lockdown, with all bars, restaurants and schools shut, as well as most shops.

Russia Has Recorded Zero Coronavirus Deaths

Gee, I wonder why.

Even as coronavirus ravages the rest of Europe, Russia, which closed its entire border back in January, still has zero recorded deaths from COVID-19.

What a stunning coincidence.

The latest numbers out of Russia show that just 28 people are recorded to be infected with coronavirus. There have been zero fatalities.

Compare these numbers to other European countries.

– Italy has 15,113 recorded infections and 1,016 total deaths.

– Spain has 3,059 recorded infections and 86 total deaths.

– France has 2,281 recorded infections and 48 total deaths.

– Germany has 2,512 recorded infections and 5 total deaths.

– The UK has 590 recorded infections and 10 total deaths.

Why such a significant difference?

As the Moscow Times highlights, Russia closed “most entry points along its 4,200-kilometer border with China, ordering people returning from high-risk areas to self-quarantine and temporarily banning Chinese citizens from entering the country.”

They did this back in January, while the World Health Organization was simultaneously ordering countries not to profile and not to take any border control measures that would stop the international flow of people.

Singapore, which despite its proximity to China has recorded only 189 cases of coronavirus and zero deaths, also closed its border back in January.

Compare Singapore and Russia’s response to a country like the UK, which despite seeing coronavirus ravage Italy and Iran is still allowing people to arrive in the country from Italy and Iran while performing zero checks on them whatsoever.

Border controls work. Globalism is a vector for disease pandemics.

ISLAMIC SCHOLAR WHO SAID CORONAVIRUS WAS “ALLAH’S PUNISHMENT” GETS CORONAVIRUS

Islamic Scholar Who Said Coronavirus Was "Allah's Punishment" Gets Coronavirus

Instant karma.

  – MARCH 11, 2020

An Islamic scholar who said the coronavirus was “Allah’s punishment” for China’s treatment of Muslims now has coronavirus.

How ironic.

Back in February, Hadi Al-Modarresi, who is based in Iran, said that the coronavirus outbreak was “undoubtedly an act of Allah that is divine punishment against the Chinese for their treatment, mockery, and disrespect towards Muslims and Islam,” reported MEMRI-TV.

“It is obvious that the spread of this virus is an act of Allah. How do we know this? The spread of the coronavirus began in China, an ancient and vast country, the population of which makes up one seventh of humanity,” said Al-Modarresi.

“More than a billion people live in that country. The authorities in that country are tyrannical and they laid siege to more than a million Muslims and placed them under house arrest. The journalists in that country began to mock the niqab of Muslim women and they forced Muslim men to eat pork and drink wine. Allah sent a disease upon them and this disease laid siege to 40 million [Chinese people]. The same niqab that they mocked has been forced upon them, both men and women, by Allah, by means of the state authorities and officials,” he added.

It is now being reported that Al-Modarresi has contracted coronavirus, meaning that Allah must obviously be punishing him for wrongdoing.

The scholar tweeted to his almost 1 million followers with a prayer to Muhammad and the revelation that “The health of His Eminence is in a marked improvement.”

Twitter users reacted with little in the way of sympathy.

“Allah 0 – coronavirus 1,” remarked one.

“He shows a great capacity for convoluted reasoning. Of course it is all based on 7th century logic,” added another.
