CORONAVIRUS RIOT: INMATES BREAK OUT OF PRISON IN ITALY

Coronavirus Riot: Inmates Break Out of Prison in Italy

Unrest erupts at 27 different prisons across the country.

 MARCH 9, 2020

At least 20 inmates broke out of jail in Foggia as riots erupted at 27 different Italian prisons nationwide in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Footage tweeted by Matteo Salvini shows inmates escaping the facility as alarms sound.

“Incredible images of the escape from the prison in Foggia,” remarked Salvini. “While our law enforcement agencies do everything they can to protect us, anarchists and social centers incite detainees.”

According to reports, 50 inmates broke out but police managed to stop about 30 of them before telling shopkeepers to lock up as the rest escaped.

“Violent protests broke out Monday in 27 Italian prisons against coronavirus restrictions with many inmates asking for an amnesty due to the virus emergency,” reports ANSA.

Six prisoners were left dead after a separate riot at Pavia prison in Modena, with army soldiers having to surround the facility to prevent inmates descending on the town.

The prisoners are rioting against restrictions that prevent relatives from visiting them as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, but many are obviously exploiting the situation in an effort to flee.

As we highlighted earlier, a leaked plan to quarantine northern Italy spectacularly backfired, sending thousands of people into a panic as they tried to flee, potentially making the spread of coronavirus even worse.

Italy now has a total confirmed 7,375 cases of coronavirus along with 366 deaths, more than any country outside of China.

Pentagon Deploys Troops To California Border To Block Surge Of Possibly Infected Migrants

The Pentagon is sending 160 soldiers to California’s border with Mexico in order to assist border agents resist an anticipated surge in migrants if the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals strikes down Migrant Protection Protection Protocols (MPP), according to Breitbart.

Approximately 60,000 migrants have been returned to Mexico prior to their US asylum hearings through the MPP program, which is aimed at preventing migrants from obtaining work in the United States, according to the report.

Some of the 30,000 migrants waiting in Mexico rushed for the border February 28 when the court declared the MPP program to be illegal. The court then quickly put a stay on its decision to block the MPP until March 12, pending any Supreme Court intervention.

The California-based court also decided to allow the MPP program to operate in Texas.

Trump administration officials added that the troops could help prevent the migration of people carrying diseases, such as coronavirus.

On Friday, the Washington Examiner reported that US border officials have blocked ‘hundreds’ of foreigners from entering the country at land ports of entry along both the Canadian and Mexico borders, according to a senior homeland security official.

“We’ve turned people away on both borders, hundreds of them. In total, during the course of the last month … we’re under 1,000, but you’re in the hundreds, to give you a ballpark sense,” said deputy secretary of DHS, Ken Cuccinelli.

Customs and Border Protection officials (CBP) say their duty is to “secure our nation’s borders, and measures such as the Crisis Response Force employment allow CBP to do just that.”

Based on the pending MPP decision, continued concerns of large groups attempting to forcibly enter through [Ports of Entry] PoEs, and Covid-19 containment and mitigation concerns, CBP has activated the Crisis Response Force.

The Crisis Response Force will provide military police support, engineering support, and aviation support to CBP. Approximately 160 active-duty personnel will reposition from their CRS standby location at Fort Polk, Louisiana, to the southwest border in support of CBP.

Approximately 80 personnel will be deployed to PoE in El Paso, Texas, and approximately 80 personnel will be supporting the San Ysidro Port of Entry in California.

The CRF will remain at or adjacent to the selected PoEs as the operational environment evolves.

If necessary. the CRF has the ability to lift-and-shift via air or ground from one PoE to another PoE to support CBP.

The employment of the CRF is one element of CBP’s larger, comprehensive border security efforts to help CBP ensure everyone’s safety and security, to include travelers, asylum seekers, business stakeholders, and our own employee.

This CRF effort should not be confused with a current and distinct Texas National Guard annual training status deployment that is being conducted as the port of entry in Brownsville, Texas. Texas National Guard routinely conducts training events with CBP components.

CORONAVIRUS – Monday 9th March

By Dr. John Campbell – 3/9/2020

This is getting serious. I think Dr. Campbell’s alert level has jumped up to “a bit cross.” There is no higher alert level in Britain. On a less humorous note, a sign of the serious decay of a civilization is when the people no longer have faith in their government. I think this situation is going to be the straw that breaks a lot of people’s backs in that regard; I think a lot of people are going to end up feeling betrayed. Not that I had a lot of faith in the government to start with, but the sheer incompetence (and possible corruption) of the WHO and the CDC and the Feds in general has really put me into a mindset of I’m on my own with this. The government is to be ignored or outright distrusted.

Liberal Groups Fight for Release of Chinese Illegal Immigrants Into US Amidst Coronavirus Epidemic

Far-left groups are once again undermining the security and safety of the US.

By Shane Trejo – 3/9/2020

328 Chinese Nationals have been caught trying to enter the United States illegally this year, and left-wing groups like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) are fighting to have them released into the country.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf noted that legal challenges to the Trump administration’s Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) policy could result in potentially dangerous migrants, such as these 328 Chinese Nationals, being released into the U.S. Many of these migrants are being kept on the Mexican side of the border because of the MPP.

“MPP has an uncertain future. We know from experience that the journey to the U.S. border puts migrants in poor conditions — and they often arrive with no passports, medical histories, or travel manifests. The administration will continue to closely monitor the virus globally, as well as in our hemisphere, and will adjust our proactive measures as necessary,” Wolf said.

DHS acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli echoed similar concerns as Wolf when he spoke to the Washington Examiner.

“The department’s top priority is the safety of the American people, and President Trump has directed an aggressive, coordinated interagency response to fulfill that mission,” Cuccinelli said.

“The American people can be assured that we’re doing everything we can to protect our homeland. While the general risk to the American public remains low, DHS has mobilized a departmentwide response to keep Americans safe, secure, and informed. Fortunately, we were able to engage DHS assistance early to prevent the spread of this virus in the U.S. We remain locked arm-in-arm with our interagency partners, HHS and CDC health professionals, and state and local officials acting as one to safeguard the health and safety of the American people,” he added.

“We have a unique public health threat posed by individuals arriving unlawfully at the border. Any halting of MPP would exacerbate that threat,” another senior official in the administration said.

The primary organization that is suing to stop the MPP is the ACLU, the notorious far-left outlet is using their signature lawfare to prevent the Trump administration from enforcing the law.

“If the administration had any respect for the law or any sense of decency, it would end this program immediately,” said Judy Rabinovitz, who works as special counsel for the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project, which has challenged the program, said in a statement released after a recent court order limited the MPP.

“We will continue working to permanently end this illegal and inhumane policy,” she added.

The ACLU has also noted that they will be watching the Trump’s administration response to the coronavirus intently, waiting in the weeds to issue legal challenges against anything that they determine to be improper.

“The ACLU will be watching closely to make sure the government heeds these experts’ recommendations, and that its response isscientifically justified and no more intrusive on civil liberties than absolutely necessary,” they wrote.

Subversive left-wing special interest groups like the ACLU do everything they can to prevent America from being great again.

Coronavirus Patient Zero in Italy Was Pakistani Migrant Who Refused to Self-Isolate

Continued to work at restaurant and deliver Chinese food.

The man believed to be coronavirus patient zero in Italy is a Pakistani migrant refused to self-isolate after testing positive for the virus and continued to deliver food.

Health authorities asked the man to quarantine himself at his home in the Pavia area for two weeks, but he ignored the request and continued to work at a Chinese restaurant.

He then compounded the risk of spreading the virus by making home deliveries of Chinese food.

Authorities were alerted to the situation and the military intervened to return the man to his home.

“The Carabinieri have been busy reconstructing all the movements of the young man, in order to identify as many people as possible with whom he came into contact. In the meantime, the military has closed the Chinese restaurant,” reports Free West Media.

The migrant now faces up to 3 months in jail for failing to self-isolate under article 650 of the Italian penal code.

Italy has recorded a total of more than 3,000 cases of the coronavirus and 148 people have died. The country was the primary source of the virus spreading to numerous other European countries.

Coronavirus ‘worst case scenario’ could see 80% of UK population infected – England’s chief medical officer

CAP

England’s chief medical officer has warned that coronavirus has the potential to infect 80 percent of the UK population and kill one percent of those who contract the disease, as the government unveils its Covid-19 battle plan.

During a joint-Downing Street press conference on Tuesday where UK PM Boris Johnson announced the publication of the government’s 28-page ‘Coronavirus: action plan’, Professor Chris Whitty told reporters about the “worst case scenario.”

Vote of no confidence: Almost no UK doctors think NHS can handle coronavirus outbreak, survey finds

CAP

Whitty claimed that up to 530,000 British citizens could die from contracting the virus, but stressed the number “is likely to be lower than that and probably a lot lower than that.”

The UK government’s action plan says that if there is an escalating outbreak, up to a fifth of the British workforce could be forced to stay at home, schools may close and elderly people advised to not attend social gatherings.

The document warns that there could be an increase in deaths from coronavirus – particularly among vulnerable and elderly groups – and so local authorities will have to deal with that challenge, which suggests morgue capacity could become an issue in such an event.

It also proposes that businesses could face “short term cash flow issues” as a result of low demand from customers.

Johnson’s administration has warned that police and fire services will only respond to the most serious call-outs if their staff fall ill through coronavirus.

It comes after a survey conducted by the Doctors’ Association UK showed that more than 99 percent of 1,618 NHS medical staff, contrary to the prime minister’s assurances, say that the British healthcare system is not prepared to handle a major outbreak of Covid-19. To date 51 people in the UK have contracted the virus.

Suspected coronavirus case being treated at University of Chicago Medical Center as four other cases reported in Illinois

CAP

3/3/2020

A person suspected of being infected with the coronavirus is being treated at the University of Chicago Medical Center, the fifth case to be reported in Illinois.

The hospital said it was waiting for lab test results to back up its suspicions. No details were released about the patient.

“We are awaiting lab tests to see whether this patient has COVID-19. Not sure how soon we will get back results,” hospital spokeswoman Lorna Wong wrote in an email Tuesday morning.

On Monday, the third and fourth cases in Illinois were reported: A husband and wife in their 70s both tested positive for coronavirus, but the results still need to be confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The man was being treated at Northwest Community Hospital and his wife was under quarantine at home, officials said. Two other cases in Illinois have been confirmed by the CDC.

Wong said the hospital has been “preparing for this eventuality” since coronavirus first became a global public health threat in January.

“Senior hospital leadership and leaders from our infectious diseases and infection prevention teams, along with other expert clinicians, are working closely with local, state and federal health officials and continue to apply up to date recommended guidelines,” she said in an emailed statement.

“We have the utmost confidence in the dedicated and highly trained team composed of nurses, physicians and other health care professionals who are providing care for this patient,” it said.

Wong said the hospital wanted to release information as early as was possible, while awaiting official confirmation of the diagnosis from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“We will continue to update you as this situation develops, but wanted to immediately inform you,” she said.

On Monday, Arlington Heights School District 25 said two staffers and two students would be staying home as a result of possible exposure to a person who is related to a hospital worker who encountered a patient with coronavirus.

At least 15 states have reported confirmed cases of coronavirus. At least six people have died from the disease in Washington state.

The disease has hit at least 70 countries, with 90,000 cases and 3,100 deaths. The vast majority of cases and deaths have been in China. While the number of new cases recorded daily in that epicenter country has declined for weeks, the virus continues to spread fast in South Korea, Iran and Italy, prompting increased travel warnings and restrictions.

In Illinois as of Monday, 102 people are being or have already been tested for the virus, including the four people whose tests have come back positive and 79 people who tests have come back negative, with 19 tests still outstanding, according to state officials. A total of 286 people were being monitored by health officials as of Monday and state health officials are working to create guidelines for those who work with the most vulnerable patients, state officials have said. Several of the cases, and deaths, in Washington state have been among patients at a nursing facility.

The state has a hotline people can call with questions or to report suspected cases, 800-889-3931. They can call the Office of Consumer Health Insurance at 877-527-9431 about their insurance coverage.
